Global Lord: Building A Magical God Realm From Scratch Chapter 17

In the small house, Lindsay looked at the pile of treasure chests in front of him, full of anticipation.
"It's time to open the treasure chests again. I wonder what good things can be obtained."
Immediately, Lindsay decided to open them all.
..
[Obtained, Devil Essence Crystal x2!]
[Obtained, Devil Essence Crystal x1!]
[Obtained, Mana Crystal x3! 500 ham sausages.]
[Obtained, Mana Crystal x2! One special spear.]
[Obtained, Mana Stones x2!]
..
After opening 45 treasure chests, he had obtained 186 mana crystals and 10 mana stones.
Currently, he now had a total of 586 mana crystals and 40 Mana Stones.
There was also ham, sausage, bread, drinking water, and the likes.
Beyond that, he managed to collect a special spear and a territory building [Wooden Wall].
Now, they could finally tear down the Wooden Fence.
These monsters were all elite-tier, so the items he managed to obtain were of higher quality as well.
This Wooden Wall could probably be upgraded by the mysterious necklace as well.
Natasha saw the delighted look in Lindsay's eyes and said, "My Lord, why do you look so happy?"
Lindsay smiled and said, "It's nothing. I just found a few good buildings that will help us solve our current issues."
After that, Lindsay began to talk about what rewards they had managed to obtain.
First, he took out the High Precision Mortar
[High Precision Mortar
Type: Equipment
Level: 5
Quality: White
Attributes: AOE attack
Attack Range: 0-500 meters.
Description: It won't be a problem dealing with ordinary monsters.]
Ordinary monsters were not elite monsters.
As there were no special modifications to this simple piece of technology, it could only deal effective attacks on ordinary monsters. This would not help against the current elite-level monsters he was facing.

This was because in battle, magic power was still needed, which meant that such ordinary technology would not be useful in the meantime.
Thus, Lindsay immediately kept it.
After that, he took out the rest of the building he had obtained.
Two Arrow Towers, one Forging Shop, and one Wooden Wall.
After Lindsay saw which building it was, he thought for a while and then came up with an idea.
Building items cost mana crystals, but fortunately, he had more than enough of them.
Lindsay then spent 100 mana crystals to build all the walls.
There was also a wooden door engraved with magic patterns.
After he was done, Lindsay's wooden fence was completely replaced by a wooden wall.
Looking at his territory's current state, Lindsay was extremely satisfied.
After that, the information about the wall appeared in his mind.
[Wooden Wall+
Level: 1 (0/10)
Function: Defense
Durability: 300/300
Current unit: 10
Description: Can defend against basic attacks.]
This was much better than the fence. Just the durability alone increased by 100.
However, Lindsay paid attention to the plus sign.
"Life is awesome when there are cheats!"
Thus, without hesitation, he clicked on it.
In an instant, the fence flashed with a strong light.
After a few seconds, the fence's appearance had changed greatly.
There were many sharp thorns on the strong wood, emitting a dark luster.
[Poison Stinger Wooden Wall
Level: 1 (0/50)
Function: Defense
Durability: 500/500
Current unit: 10 (can be expanded)
Special Ability: Poison Stinger
Description: If you attack the wooden wall, you will be splashed by the liquid spewed by the poison stinger.]
...
The durability had increased a lot, so it would be harder to level up.
However, this Stinger Wall could actually launch its own attacks.
It was stronger than he expected.

If this was the case, now his defense would actually be able to take the initiative to attack.
This kind of special wall was estimated to be worth over 100,000 mana crystals on the Magic Region Trade Center.
Following that, Lindsay set up the two arrow towers.
These two arrow towers were just like the previous two that had not evolved.
[Arrow Tower+
Level: 1 (0/100).
Function: Release Arrows (one shot per second)
Inventory: 100/100
Attack Range: 200 meters
Description: A simple defensive structure. The arrows are very powerful.]
Just as Lindsay assumed, these two arrow towers had a plus sign.
Lindsay did not hesitate to tap on them.
After that, there was another flash of light, and two different defense towers appeared in front of Lindsay.
One of the towers had a diamond-shaped crystal on it and on the crystal, there seemed to be many water droplets.
[Poison Rain Tower
Type: Defense Tower
Level: 1(0/200)
Function: Poison Rain (100 drops per second)
Attack Range: 300 meters
Storage: 10/10
Description: A type of defense tower with extremely high corrosive properties.]
...
[Armor Piercing Tower
Type: Defense Tower
Level: 1 (0/200)
Function: Armor Piercing
Attack Range: 500 meters
Storage: 100/100
Description: A single arrow can pierce through iron armor.]
...
One elemental tower and one special defense tower.
Looking at the introduction of the two defense towers, Lindsay nodded slightly.
Then, he placed the two arrow towers in the other two corners.
Looking at his territory's building, there were already four defense towers.
The Icicle Tower, the Lightning Tower, the Poison Rain Tower, and the Armor-Piercing Tower.
These towers had both defensive lightning and poison rain, as well as attack-type icicles and armor-piercing arrows.
It was practically a perfect combination.
Now that there was a slightly stronger wooden wall protecting the defense towers, it would not be easily attacked.
There was only the Forging Shop left.
'Let's see how this Forging Shop can be upgraded.'
After throwing in the mana crystals, the building became bigger and bigger until a full-sized Forging Shop was right in front of him.
The building looked very unremarkable. It was just a small house made of stone and sand with a small furnace inside.
[Forging Shop+
Type: Forging Facility
Level: 1 (0/10)
Function: Smithing
Inventory: 10/10
Description: Dorging simple weapons with no magic attribute buffs.]
Without any hesitation, Lindsay clicked on the shining plus sign.
After that, the dilapidated hut became more exquisite, with a more modern furnace inside.
This furnace could automatically refine weapons.
[Weapon Refining Pavillion
Type: Forging Facilities
Level: 1 (0/200)
Function: Weapon refining (one item per inventory)
Inventory: 10/10
Description: Forge magical weapons with magical attributes that can be released during battle.]
'That's more like it. Magical weapons are the ones that are truly lethal.'

Saga of Fallen Kings, Book I: The Revenant Prince
The Philosopher King once conquered the known world, his power seemingly unlimited and his armies inexhaustible. Since that time his might has slowly unravelled, and his once steadfast empire has begun to crack, splinter and devour itself. In the isolated Southern Realms, where even magic has abandoned them, none of that matters. For years it has been filled with warring kingdoms, where as many kings die to the blade as to old age, and constant battles tear apart the land. When one such kingdom invades its old enemy, the King and his heir, Prince Caden, are killed. Unable to accept the loss of his family Prince Arian is broken, and when the Philosopher King stretches out his hand in aid, Arian takes it without a second thought. When Caden wakes from death, he's different. His eyes and soul have changed, and he finds a world filled with friends who no longer trust he's even human. Suddenly thrust onto the throne and indebted to the Philosopher King, Caden has no choice but to keep going - he must finish what his father started, and try to survive the machinations of the figure who now owns his fealty. Meanwhile something beyond death stirs for him, desiring nothing more than to drag him back into its embrace. Author's Note: This story used to be known as "A King of his Own", but after some consideration I have decided to rebrand it. The first reason is that I was growing increasingly dissatisfied with the title. The second is that I have come increasingly to view this story as a 'saga' containing multiple 'books' rather than one long, continuous publication, and as I did so I realized that as I was quickly getting to a point in the story where I wanted the first 'book' to end. This doesn't mean I'm going back on the things I said below - they're just going to continue in the next book of the Saga of Fallen Kings. :) Also, be aware that I do plan to edit this at some point. Though I take care to squash out any obvious errors when I proof-read, and do simple edits in that process, at some point I'm almost certainly going to do large edits that might significantly change parts of the story. Old author's notes: This started as a completely random writing session. There was no purpose or direction, but as I kept typing an entire world began to form in my mind that I knew I had to write about. My plan is to turn this story into a veritable medieval fantasy epic that spans an entire world, follows multiple character and storylines, and takes place over many years. The story has quite a grounded, almost 'realistic' start, but many more fantastical elements will be introduced, expanded upon and become central to the narrative. I have ideas for this story that make me genuinely excited and I hope you enjoy my work as much as I enjoy writing it, and join me on what will hopefully become a truly massive fantasy epic. If you do enjoy this story please consider following, rating and leaving a review. I'm also happy to answer any questions or comments you have. The Novel's Extra's Extra
As a reader, Cristopher always looked for things that entertained him, didn't matter what the "critics" said, all that matters was his own opinion on the novel, so he started reading "The Novel's Extra", a webnovel that despicts an author who is transmigrated to his own novel. It was fun and all with its own good and bad points, really, one of his favorites novels at the end of the journey, and that's taking into account the little fact that he didn't have too many things he was able to enjoy, not in that empty shell that was called life for him... Why could someone be born like that? With a void inside, an endless void that slowly consumes oneself... But... for better or worse... everything changed one day, the same day he woke up to discover he had the same faith of the author whose novel he just finished reading, becoming an extra in a novel, becoming The novel's extra's extra... /Ok, now that's the description I thought of... first of all, for those of you who are reading this, if any, a few points I have to make clear: 1. I'm not an english native speaker, so if you find anything wrong in the text, please let me know, that would help me learn, and I would be thankful for that.2. I'm writting this out of pure "enjoyment", so while I'll try to be constant, I'll not make any promises.3. True reason why I'm writing this is because I'm going through a moderate to crippling depression right now (and no, is not because anything trully bad and horrendous happened to me, it seems to have something to do with my brain's malfuctioning, among other things), and doctors told me to try writing as I enjoy reading. So yeah, this is more like a self-help excercise, to keep myself distracted while trying to be safe from my self.4. I choose to make a fanfiction of "The Novel's Extra" as I don't trully know how to write, and because I really loved that webnovel, though there are some points I didn't particulary liked.5. If you see some (let's be clear, really much) self insertion on this series, well, that may be me trying to escape reality, to which I make an early warning and disclaimer, and also ask for forgiveness, as I said before, this is more of an excercise, so don't take it too serious.6. I'll be a slow writer, as I have to still check a few things from the novel, even when I've read it like 3 or 4 times already, and because I know shit about writing a novel or a series.7. If you get to enjoy this, then that's good, I would be glad about it, maybe even more motivated, but I don't really expect this to be any good. Thanks to you all who may, or may not, be reading this novel./
