Reborn As A Giant Scorpion: Evolution By Consumption Chapter 21

"Quentin, what are you doing?" Cotton grabbed his collar.
"I'm going to kill it!" Quentin's eyes were fierce. "Let go!" He roared at Cotton.
"You're crazy!" Cotton pushed the muzzle of his gun and said, "If you kill it, we'll lose half of the price. But, of course, the boss won't agree to this."
"I don't care. I must kill it now. No one can stop me. I will explain to the boss. After that, I will bear the consequences alone."
"No matter what, I must kill this beast today."
Quentin's vicious expression and the scar on his face... he stared straight at Cotton as if he had lost his mind.
The other two saw that the two of them were fighting and came over to mediate.
Quentin's viciousness had indeed frightened them. The four of them had worked together for so long, but they had never seen Quentin so angry.
It made sense when they thought about it. After all, no one would be able to remain rational with such a bloody wound on the face.
At this moment, Cotton let go of his hand and stood quietly at the side. Quentin grinned hideously and put his index finger on the trigger.
Suddenly, the grass behind them shook. Quentin turned his head to look after hearing the sound.
When they saw Alex, they all gasped.
"F*ck, what is this monster!"
"It seems to be a Scorpion!"
"There is such a big scorpion in the world?! I can't believe it."
"If I didn't see it with my own eyes, I couldn't believe my own eyes. There's a two-meter-long scorpion. Oh my god!"
The four of them were all shocked by Alex. They didn't even care about the leopard beside them. Instead, their gazes were all focused on Alex. With their many years of hunting experience, they could see the value of this scorpion: a sky-high price.

Cotton was the first to react. The four of them looked at each other. That was a vast fortune.
Alex looked at the four of them as if he was looking at clowns. He thought that this was another wave of evolution points.
This time, Alex did not wait for them to make a move. He attacked first.
Cotton was shocked. He raised the submachine gun in his hand. The muzzle of the weapon was emitting blue flames, but it was useless. The scorpion was too fast.
It was like a bolt of lightning. Turun was still putting on the armor. A colossal figure crawled toward him. Its two pincers were like a pair of scissors.
Crack!
With a crisp sound, Alex threw Turun's head into the air.
The headless corpse on the ground had lost its support. Under the horrified gazes of the other three people, it fell to the ground.
"Damn it!"
"F*ck!"
"How can this thing be so powerful? Run and tell the boss this news. Unfortunately, we are not its match."
Cotton reacted and took the lead to run into the depths of the forest. Quentin glanced at the leopard on the ground and raised the submachine gun in his hand.
Even if he had to leave, he would kill this beast.
But in the next moment, his body trembled. He looked at his chest in disbelief. There was a giant scorpion foot that had penetrated his body.
Sam let out a strange cry. He was so scared that his butt was wet. Sam squatted on the ground and stared at Alex, who was crawling over. He was so terrified that he did not even dare to shoot.
Ah! Ah! Ah!
Sam opened his big mouth and began to scream uncontrollably. Alex directly slammed his claw into his mouth.
Suddenly, blood was dripping. Sam's mouth was torn open, revealing the scarlet flesh inside. Alex's sharp scorpion foot penetrated his mouth to the back of his head.

Alex was not in a hurry to chase after Cotton. He had already memorized the smell on Cotton's body. After swallowing these people, he could follow the scent to the poachers-based camp and kill them all.
After activating devour, Alex had obtained a total of 1,200 evolution points. Currently, he had a total of 5,120 evolution points, and it was already more than half of the target of evolution.
Therefore, the idea of swallowing the poachers was indeed the fastest and most effective method.
At this moment, the female leopard saw Alex walking over. Her eyes were filled with fear. She had seen Alex devour the three people in front of her with her own eyes. Her entire body could not help but tremble. That was the instinct of a low-level creature fearing a high-level creature.
Every creature in the world had its instincts. Some were sensitive, and some were slow. However, when a high-level creature appeared, that would trigger any beast. That was the fear and panic hidden in their blood.
It was something that they could not control.
Alex walked to the leopard and stretched out his two scorpion feet.
It was even more afraid. It growled in a low voice, but Alex only broke the hunting net that surrounded her and turned to leave.
The leopard left with a blank face.
It hesitated for a moment, then it jumped over the grass and ran away.
Alex looked at it and was about to turn around to chase Cotton, but the mother leopard turned back.
It growled softly from a distance, turned around and walked more than ten meters, then turned back and growled at Alex again.
"Looks like it wants me to go with it."
Alex understood what it meant.
Anyway, the poachers could not run away. He would follow her to see what was going on, then go after Cotton.
A leopard and a scorpion, one big and one small, ran at high speed in the jungle.
After a few minutes, they arrived at a low-lying valley. There were more than a dozen tents here, and the faint growls of animals came from one of the tents.
Alex followed the mother leopard to the back of a torn tent and instantly understood.
In the golden cage beside them, two tiny leopards were biting the pen. Their eyes were moist, and their dull faces revealed their youthful innocence.
The mother leopard growled softly, then looked at the little leopards in the cage. Alex understood what it meant.
Alex did not expect that he would become the leopard's bodyguard.
Alex tapped on the white cover with his scorpion foot deep inside, then exerted some force on the finger-thick steel bar. The steel bar twisted and deformed, and with a crisp cracking sound, the steel bar broke.
The two baby leopards growled softly and ran toward the mother leopard. Their four short legs flew, and their tails swayed like the propeller of a helicopter.
One of the young leopards that he had saved previously saw him and was still a little timid.
He hid behind the female leopard and looked at himself with two small eyes.
On the other hand, the other young leopard hopped in front of him and sniffed here and there.
It even wanted to climb onto his back.
Alex knocked on the naughty boy and suddenly looked in a direction. It smelled the scent of its prey.
It was Cotton, who had run away earlier.
Alex moved his scorpion feet and told the family of leopards to leave because he was about to kill.
It's showtime.

This is my first work and I will hopefully stay around for a while. I will try to finish or at least expand on this piece of work for quite some time, expect a few hiatuses in between though, still have a bit of schooling to do. Expected release dates will probably be once a week(not sure yet) after I stabilized the novel a bit as I'm still debating on how I should handle this. I prefer fleshed-out works compared to quick releases, but it also depends on how I'm feeling. I don't have a lot of confidence in my writing skills and I believe that my writing style is a bit weird, but I do want to try my best to tell a story that's worth telling. I will gladly accept criticism but please try to pull the punches back a bit! I'm still only human after all. Very excited to work on this, please take good care of me as I proceed on this journey with all of you! P.S. If you're going into my series, expect to see cliches sprinkled here and there. I personally love cliches and a few tropes! But, that goes without saying, I want to put my own spin on them. Be ready to feel the edge!!! Heh.
