"Belland, you better not be messing around. Otherwise, you should know the consequences of this matter," Charlotte threatened, as her expression darkened.

Marcia suddenly did not dare to breathe loudly.

Belland, however, laughed in a relaxed manner. "Don't you think that this is my marriage? Shouldn't I get to choose who I marry? Come on, aunt, this matter is not up to anyone else to decide."

"If there's nothing else, I have a meeting to attend to. I'll ask Marcia to send you down."

Belland walked into the office after saying that. It seemed that he did not wish to continue arguing about this matter.

Charlotte stared at his back expressionlessly. However, her heaving chest indicated that she was definitely enraged at this moment.

Marcia looked at Charlotte carefully and tried her best to maintain a serious tone that did not offend her. "Ms. Glatton, is there anything else I can help you with?"

Charlotte snorted coldly and turned to walk to the elevator.

Marcia stared at her back with a hesitant expression, as if she was struggling with something.

Suddenly, she caught up with Charlotte. "Ms. Glatton, actually, the chairman is not married. I think he just wants to use this excuse to reject the Lipton family's marriage."

Charlotte stopped. She did not move, but turned to look at the woman beside her.

"If I remember correctly, you are Belland's secretary." Charlotte couldn't remember the woman's name.

"Marcia! Marcia Maudlin," Marcia replied hurriedly.

Charlotte snorted. "Miss Maudlin, are you sure that what Belland said just now was merely an excuse?"

Marcia nodded. "Yes, Ms. Glatton. I can guarantee that the chairman isn't married to anyone."

Marcia said in a caring tone, "I hope you are not angry with the chairman's attitude just now, because I really don't want there to be such a big conflict between you and your nephew because of this misunderstanding."

"Perhaps the chairman is really against the marriage alliance with the Lipton family, or maybe he really doesn't like that Miss Eunice. Maybe you can try to find a new marriage partner for him that will satisfy both the Glatton family and the chairman?"

Charlotte still kept her body facing forward, only turning her head to look at her.

Under such a gaze, Marcia felt rooted to the spot.

Charlotte simply continued staring for at least two minutes, before finally opening her mouth. "Oh? Based on the fact that you are Belland's close aide in his work, I guess I can trust the news you brought me."

Obtaining Charlotte's approval made Marcia's fingertips tremble with excitement.

Charlotte continued, "As for your suggestion, I might consider it. However, what good advice do you have on this matter? Perhaps you would suggest that I take a look at you? Miss Maudlin, blonde hair, blue eyes, and a tall figure, who is also an indispensable partner in Belland's work? I'm sure there is no one more suitable than you to be the mistress of the Glatton family, is there?"

It was hard to tell whether Charlotte was being sarcastic or sincere.

But Marcia's heart seemed to freeze up.

Because it was impossible for the other party to mean what she said. This was obviously sarcasm and mockery!

She raised her head and met Charlotte's eyes, a pair of shrewd eyes that seemed to be able to see into her inner world, penetrating through Marcia's entire being.

Marcia's fingertips began to turn cold. She tried hard to bring out a smile. "Madam Glatton, you've misunderstood me."

Charlotte turned her head coldly and looked ahead, "It's best if that is so, my dear secretary. I hope that you can recognize your place. Don't give me a headache because of the schemes that you people have to get into the Glatton family. Otherwise, I should consider finding a new secretary for Belland."

After saying that, she stepped into the elevator in her high heels.

Marcia's lips were trembling.

"Come on! Francis, you have to drink at least a little of this soup. At least take two sips." Mary reached out and pressed on Francis's chin, putting the spoon into his mouth.

She felt that this guy was a little delirious from the fever and was beginning to lose consciousness.

She had to take him to the hospital.

But before that, she had to make Francis eat something to ensure that he would regain some lucidity and strength.

After all, Mary could not support his tall body on her own.
