My Husband's Been Exposed By The Media Chapter 19

Mary had no recollection of what had happened after drinking. She only vaguely remembered the passionate battle she had had with her husband late last night. The images in her mind were very vague, like reality or a dream.

But she remembered that Martin had betrayed Angela.

Mary was wearing a dark blue shirt with a low-cut collar and jeans, revealing the curves of her long, full legs.

Belland had taken a nap in the morning before going back to work. School was out, so Mary was at home cooking lunch.

It was steak.

Francis sat idly in the kitchen, resting his head on one hand, with a cigarette dangling from his mouth. His long, almond-shaped eyes traced Mary around the kitchen.

As he looked at Mary, he couldn't help but think of the night before. "How did you and Belland meet?"

Mary put the lasagna into the pot. The sound of the oil exploding made her unable to hear what Francis said. "Pardon?"

"I said... How did you and Belland meet?" Francis put out his cigarette and held a toothpick in his mouth. His handsome face was full of laziness.

His tone was slow and his magnetic voice was very pleasant to the ears.

Mary thought for a while and seemed to remember something. A beautiful smile appeared on her face. "When I was in college, Belland passed by our school that day. His car had a flat tire. I fixed it for him."

Francis wasn't actually interested to know, assuming that it would simply be a typical romantic encounter. After hearing it, however, his expression became strange.

"Did you fix his car?"

Mary nodded naturally and placed the plate of food in front of Francis. "I joined the mechanical assembly club in college and specialized in cars."

Francis's expression became even weirder. It was hard to associate the seductive and well-organized woman in front of him with mending cars and other menial tasks.

"To thank me, Belland invited me to dinner, and then we fell in love," Mary said with a smile, her bright big eyes full of warmth and sweetness.

Francis said, "Nothing special."

Except for the part about repairing cars.

Mary said indifferently, "So what? As for you, why don't you have a serious girlfriend?"

Francis didn't say anything. He lowered his head and elegantly picked up a steak. He threw it into his mouth, chewed it, and said, "The temperature is a little low, but it's still edible."

Mary looked at him worriedly, thinking that this child's illness really needed to be treated. If it was delayed any longer, it might affect his normal life.

At that moment, the doorbell rang.

Mary went to open the door. To her surprise, it turned out to be Mabel, who was standing at the door. In her hands were two bottles of red wine, and there was a warm smile on her face that Mary was not used to.

"Hey! Mary, Can I come in?"

"Of course, please," Mary turned to let Mabel in. Her new boyfriend was not with her today, so she came alone.

Mabel had never been to Mary's house, even though she and her husband had invited her when they first moved here.

But Mary quickly guessed her purpose for coming. It must have been related to last night's incident.

It was about Mabel and Martin's affair.

"I should have come to see you a long time ago. You know, I'm very busy. Hi, Belland!" She smiled and waved at Francis in the living room.

Francis raised his beautiful eyebrows but did not respond.

Mabel's smile did not change as she brought the two bottles of red wine into the kitchen.

Mary was about to explain that it was Francis, Belland's younger brother, but Mabel did not give Mary a chance to speak.

"I know you don't drink wine, but this wine is very difficult to get. At least let Belland have a taste. I remember you said that Belland likes to drink red wine, so he should know a lot about red wine, right?"

Mabel saw the wine cabinet at the side of Mary's kitchen and walked over very naturally, ready to put her own red wine inside.

She did not know whether this was because Mabel was simply like that, or she was afraid that Mary would refuse.

"This bottle of wine is from Mordan Valiant Winery. I spent five thousand dollars to get it." In fact, Martin had asked her to bring it to shut Mary up.

After receiving the two bottles of expensive wine, Mary wouldn't reveal her secret anymore.

When Martin took out the two bottles of wine, his heart ached terribly.

Mary's mouth was wide open in shock. "Five thousand dollars? Oh Mabel, I can't take this bottle of wine. Absolutely not!"

Mabel enjoyed Mary's shocked expression. At the same time, she couldn't help but despise her. If Mary hadn't found out about them, how could she and her poor husband get this fine wine?

Even if the couple went to a high-end restaurant to celebrate their wedding anniversary, they wouldn't be willing to order a bottle of this wine.

"Take it, Mary. Consider it my late housewarming gift."

Mabel said nonchalantly and glanced at Mary's wine cabinet with disdain. Her expression suddenly froze.

"Huh? Why do you have the same red wine as me in here?"
