Chapter 17: Raymond! He’s No Longer a Normal Human Being!

“Haha, I knew it was impossible for him to successfully deduce the fourth cosmic velocity. Who does he think he is?”
“Hehe, that’s right. A poor man from the slums, how dare he dream of defying the heavens?”
“What’s wrong with the slums? Look at what the so-called aristocratic chairman, best-selling novelist, and popular superstar are doing.”
“Oh, there’s also that degenerate, Miyoshi Yamada. He can’t handle anymore and fell asleep only after a round of m*****bation? Not only is he embarrassing, but he’s also hollow. Is this what you call an elite?”
Due to Miyoshi Yamada’s actions, he was affectionately called the “God of m*****bation” by the enthusiastic netizens.
The title would probably follow him for the rest of his life.
“Baka! Damn Miyoshi Yamada! Damn program team!”
The Japanese netizens were furious at their ridicule and Yamada’s incompetence.
However, after hearing the explanation from the passerby, they did not know why, but the viewers all over the world heaved a sigh of relief.
It was really too ridiculous. If the fourth one had been deduced, it would have simply been beyond a human’s scope. As ordinary folk, they simply could not accept it.
Besides, Raymond’s “failure” this time had allowed them to see that, at the very least, Raymond was still a “person”.
He was a “human” with some ability, but it was not too ridiculous.
“Is that the best you can do?”
In his manor in the United States, Professor Antonio Ian sighed slightly. He felt simultaneously relieved and a little disappointed.
It relieved him to see that Raymond’s actions were at least not too absurd.
Nevertheless, it disappointed him when Raymond did not manage to deduce the fourth cosmic velocity. It was a loss for the scientific, mathematical, and physical worlds.

Similarly, it was also a loss for the entire human race.
Over in the library, Raymond scoured every corner with a solemn expression.
There was no deeper information regarding mathematics and physics.
The lack of deeper knowledge meant that the deduction could not go on.
Just as he was feeling troubled, he suddenly had an idea.
F*ck, he could use the Internet for something that the library did not have.
While the humans had suddenly disappeared, everything still operated as usual. The Internet would not crash so quickly.
Thinking of this, Raymond hurriedly went to a computer.
He turned on the computer and found several learning websites. These were the leading knowledge websites in the United States, and they had information on all subjects.
“Is he going to start learning again?”
“There’s a huge amount of information on the Internet. There’s too much. According to the settings for the humans’ sudden disappearance, the power will be cut off after a week, so that’s all the time he has. Will he be able to learn it?”
Raymond had the same concern too.
After a week, the power station would malfunction because no one was maintaining it, and that would result in a power outage.
When that happened, all electronic equipment would be useless.
How could he learn then?
After thinking for a moment, Raymond could only choose the most appropriate method.
He would activate the Ultimate Learning State and learn as much as he could before the power outage…
And that was exactly what he did.
Raymond quickly activated the Ultimate Learning State.
Then, every number, every symbol, and every knowledge point filled his senses. They seemed to be extracted from the computer screen.
Soon after they interweaved and entered his mind, he quickly grasped them.
That allowed him to scroll the mouse faster and faster.

The duration in which each interface stopped was no more than one-tenth of a second before he promptly cut to another page.
If it had been an ordinary person, he or she would not have even had the time to see what was on the screen with such short intervals.
His current actions also stunned the audience.
“The time he takes to flip a page is even faster than the time it takes for me to look at a color map. Is this learning? I refuse to believe it no matter what.”
“Is there a color map on the page? Share it with everyone.”
“No, scram.”
“I’m dying of laughter. Is there such a way to learn? Even when he was flipping through books, it wasn’t this ridiculous!”
“This kind of situation shouldn’t be called learning. It should be data transmission. Could Raymond be some type of AI?”
“Good God.”
The audience once again entered their mocking mode.
Raymond was really too ludicrous.
Some of the scientists shook their heads when they saw this. Raymond’s behavior was indeed somewhat unbelievable and even a little strange.
“After careful observation, I’ve come to a conclusion: the current Raymond no longer resembles a normal human.
“His actions right now indicate that he’s trying to numb himself, like he’s venting.
“In other words, his heart simply can’t accept the sudden disappearance of human beings, and he’s slowly descending into madness.
“Now, it’s hard to say if he’s still normal.”
Someone posted a tweet right then, and it instantly became a hot topic.
The person who posted the content was an internationally renowned psychologist, and he had a lot of achievements in the field of psychology.
If that came from him, then there was something really wrong with Raymond’s psyche.

Delve
Summary – Level 1: Delve is an isekai litrpg that follows an average guy who just happened to wake up in a forest one day. He wasn’t summoned to defeat the demon lord or to save the world or anything like that, at least as far as he can tell. The only creature there to greet him was a regular old squirrel. Soon enough, he meets other people, only to discover that he can’t speak the language, and that not everybody immediately trusts random pajama-wearing strangers they met in the middle of the wilderness. Things generally go downhill from there, at least until the blue boxes start appearing. Delve is a story about finding your way in a new, strange, and dangerous world. It’s about avoiding death, figuring out what the heck is going on, and trying to make some friends along the way. It’s not about getting home, so much as finding a new one. Did I mention that there will be math? Summary – Level 2: Okay, but what are you in for, really? Well, this story is supposed to be realistic, or at least, as realistic as a fantasy litrpg can be. The main character doesn’t instantly become an all-powerful god and murder-hobo his way across the universe. Delve is, at its heart, a progression fantasy, but that progression is meant to feel earned. The numbers in this story actually mean something. Everything is calculated, and if you find a rounding error, I expect you to tell me about it. That said, if math isn’t your cup of tea, there is plenty more that the story has to offer. Characters are meant to feel real, and progression isn’t only about personal power; it’s also about allies, connections, and above all, knowledge. Figuring out how the system works is a significant theme. ... What, you want more details? Okay, fine, but this is going to get a bit spoiler-y. Are you sure? Yes! Really sure? I mean, this summary is practically half as long as the first chap– Now! Okay, okay! The main character becomes a magic user, but he takes a route that is not very popular in adventurer culture, namely that of a support. There is a full magic system with various spells, skills, and abilities, but our MC decides that aura magic is the way to go, and that the only stat worth investing in is mana regeneration. Most people at the Adventurer’s Guild think that this makes him a bit of a dumbass, but he’s playing the long game. We’ll see how that works out for him, won’t we? Because of his build, the MC levels up fast, at least compared to normal people. There are no cheats, though, and he is limited in other ways. There are some clear and pretty obvious downsides to his build. That’s what makes it fun, no? Morals? Our MC has them. Again, we’ll see how that works out for him. Realism, remember? Would you be okay with killing someone and looting their body? I sure hope not. POV? The focus is on the main character, but there will be occasional varying perspectives from people around him, or involved in the events related to the main plot. It isn’t going to jump all over the place. Tech is standard medieval stasis. No smartphones, but the MC does have a technical background. Computers and their programming might be involved. There might even be a bit of uplifting down the road, who knows? Anyway, it isn’t the focus. He isn’t going to invent the gun in chapter 1 and change the face of warfare. Romance is not a major focus. Friendships are more the name of the game, though there will be some characters in romantic relationships. There is exploration, though not as much of the geographical nature as you might expect. It is more about exploration of the system and the culture. The pace is slow and detailed, sometimes verging on slice-of-life. The action is meant to be realistic and grounded in the numbers, and it is intended to have meaning beyond simply punching things until they stop moving. The general tone of the story is grey, and some parts can get quite dark. People die. Sometimes, people with names, but not anywhere near GoT level. There is plenty of light, too, though, to balance the darkness. The world is dangerous, but overcoming that danger is why we’re all here, isn’t it? Anyway, if you’ve made it this far through the summary, you clearly like words. I hope you enjoy the story! Cover by Miha Brumec Summary Updated: 2020-06-14
