Super Gene Optimization Fluid Chapter 716

The vast Plum Garden of the Moonward Clan being turned into ruins caused a heroic feeling to swell up in Xia Fei's mind. In this world, the strong truly were king! Even the incomparably illustrious Moonward Clan was nothing! In the end, it only took minutes for the pack of wolves from the Skywing Clan to flatten their home!
The words of the Skywing Clan's grand ancestor that Xia Fei had not yet met still rang out in Xia Fei's ears. "What Nine Great Clans? What God Race? Understand that this old man is a member of the Skywing Clan!"
Only someone with an extremely arrogant personality would be able to say such things, and the Skywing Clan had the strength to back it up!
*Pa!*
As he was thinking, a hand heavily patted his shoulder. Turning his head, Xia Fei saw the red-eyed Xia Buyun and became a little nervous. After all, he was from Earth and not some member of the Skywing Clan. He still had not had the time to explain this misunderstanding.
"You're called Xia Fei?"
Xia Fei nodded. He was just about to say something else when Xia Buyun stopped him.
"Keep anything else you have to say for later! What's your current speed per second?"
"Thirty thousand."
*Zing~*
Xia Buyun's eyes pierced like blades into Xia Fei's body as he frowned. "How could you be this slow?!"
Xia Fei was rendered speechless. This was the first time someone had ever criticized him for being too slow. It must be understood that this was the speed ability! The hardest among all abilities to train! Moreover, he was still wounded!
Xia Fei had relied on his thirty thousand meter per second speed to win countless battles, but in the Skywing Clan, this speed was not remarkable at all.
Just now, Xia Fei had been rushing but still had been unable to keep up with the group. By the time he arrived at Plum Garden, the fire had already started. Xia Buyun's group had flattened the Plum Garden in the blink of an eye!
"That's too shameful! It dishonors the Skywing name! No wonder you couldn't keep up with the group! Who taught you this Law of Speed?! They're too irresponsible! Once this matter is over, you'll first have to undergo Law of Speed enhancement training!" Xia Buyun scowled.
Xia Fei was just about to say that he had no intention of learning the Speed Law when Xia Buyun stopped him again. "There's no need to explain! Save it for later!"
Xia Fei's eyes rolled over, and he felt like he was suffocating to death. Save it for later again? The Skywings were truly impatient people, not even giving him a chance to speak!
When destroying a clan, they would at least have to discuss tactics, right? Where to attack first, where to attack later, and what the hard points and weak points were...
However, the Skywing Clan had only two steps: One, gather everyone together; two, go over and destroy the enemies!
Xia Buyun turned around, a sharp light erupting from his eyes!
"This is only the beginning! Skywings, listen up! We're flattening the Cherry Garden next!"
"Yes!" the wolf pack howled, their flames of fury rising to the heavens!
...
"Report! Xia Buyun's group has already flattened the Plum Garden!"
"So fast?!" Mu Qiyun asked in shock. This was Mu Clan's grand ancestor, who had not involved himself in family affairs for many years, was now wearing white combat armor and had a solemn expression.

The war between the Skywing Clan and the Moonward Clan didn't just put these two clans in danger. It put the White Horse Constellation, perhaps even the entire Law Realm, in danger!
Everyone's nerves were on edge from this war, and there were many more old monsters like Mu Qiyun watching from the shadows, observing the Plum Garden and this battle! Even the two peak races were watching!
"We're too slow. The Skywings are probably already at the Moonward Clan patriarch's home, the Cherry Garden! They move too quickly! Far too quickly! We simply can't keep up!" the spy somewhat dejectedly said.
"Even if you can't, you must! I have to know what stage the battle is at! I need a report every minute!" Mu Qiyun unreasonably demanded.
"Understood!"
The spy clenched his teeth, mentally cursing the crazy Skywings for being too fast. This was a clan that had wings growing out their backs, coming and going without a trace, much like ghosts!
"Father, Cherry Garden is the residence of the Moonward Clan's patriarch. Although the Ward family has two Law Overlords and more than forty Law Emperors, the Skywings are a pack of wolves! If the Moonward Clan were only smart enough to run away and bide their time while awaiting the storm to recede. Unfortunately, they didn't run away! It's just too strange!" Mu Fuping's father, Mu Nanchen, nervously said. He was also wearing a suit of armor, putting away his usual elegant attire.
The Withered Mu Clan clearly did not have as good of an intelligence network as the Dragon Ascension Martial Hall. They still did not know that the Moonward Clan's strongest Law Overlord, Golcen Ward, had returned.
Mu Qiyun's face darkened. "This is also my concern."
Mu Nanchen continued speaking. "This time, the Skywing Clan only mobilized those who are Law Emperors and above, as well as a few medics, but they didn't mobilize all the members. This makes sense. After all, this is a battle of the powerful; ordinary warriors won't be able to play a decisive role and will just serve as cannon fodders!
"Still, the Moonward Clan mobilized everyone! This doesn't abide by the rules. They might be thinking about human mob tactics, hoping to bury the Skywing Clan's elites under the mass of bodies! And if word gets out that the Skywing Clan would even kill these low-rank warriors, the entire circle will find them contemptible!
"The Nine Great Clans are closely connected, with many marriages between them. Everyone is family, so once the Skywing Clan starts killing! The ultimate result will be the Nine Great Clans against the demon blade that is the Skywings! Our Mu Clan will also be forced into a war against those crazies! The Moonward Clan is too sinister, even dragging the rest of us into their fight! Even if the aloof and transcendent Snowdrift and Glacier Clans refuse to enter these muddy waters, that's still six clans! Tens of millions of people!"
Mu Fuping, who was eavesdropping outside, felt herself getting dizzy. Her father was telling the truth. The clans were vast, and they were all related to each other in some way. Once the Skywings began their frenzied slaughter, it would trigger a powerful reaction from the entire Law Realm! And that was when things got dangerous!
But while Mu Nanchen was worried that the Mu Clan would be forced into fighting the crazy Skywings, Mu Fuping was worried about Xia Fei!

"The Moonward Clan has truly gone crazy! Trying to bring us down with them! No matter what, if our Mu Clan is able to not provoke those madmen of the Skywing Clan, then we won't! Even if the other clans join together to deal with the Skywings, it will come at a tragic cost! These people are all monsters that can't be reasoned with!" Mu Qiyun said as he turned to Mu Nanchen. "Nanchen, you've gotten better with your analysis."
Mu Nanchen felt a little pride, but Mu Qiyun proceeded to add, "But your thinking is too simple. Sacrificing millions of clan members to force the other great clans into action is far too sinister of a plan. It doesn't seem like White Ward's plan and more like one of those moves from that crafty fox Golcen Ward. Second, even if the Moonward Clan is able to pull down the rest of the clans into the fight and ultimately destroy the Skywings, we wouldn't forgive the Moonward Clan. Thus, the Moonward Clan won't use this plan until the very end. Therefore, they haven't retreated from the Cherry Garden because they have some sort of back-up plan!"
"A back-up plan? The Moonward Clan's people are truly treacherous! That crafty fox Golcen Ward has always been hiding behind White Ward, and now that he's finally left for the God Race, he decided to leave behind this awful plan. Outsiders probably have no idea that he's the most formidable member of the Moonward Clan!" The forthright Mu Chen loudly said, clearly very frustrated. He had no idea that the most formidable Golcen Ward had not actually left.
The dozen or so supporting pillars of the Mu Clan all became rather dejected, a somber mood lingering in the air.
Mu Fuping also couldn't restrain herself any longer. Rushing into the conference room in a panic, she shouted, "Grandfather! Our Mu Clan can't be an enemy to Xia Fei! He's been framed and has only just been recognized by his clan! No matter how formidable the Skywings are, they can't fight against all of the Law realm!"
Mu Qiyun was startled at first, but then he bitterly smiled. How could he not understand what his precious granddaughter was thinking?"
"Ping'er, your grandfather admits that you have good eyes, but it's too bad he's a Skywing; best if you forget about him."
Mu Fuping felt as if her grandfather had executed a complete 180 upon learning about Xia Fei's origins. Originally, he had been very supportive of Mu Fuping, even going with her to Snake Isle and applying pressure on the Law Enforcement Board, demanding that the Law Enforcement Board treat Xia Fei fairly.
"You can't defy the will of the people. If the Moonward Clan insists on using the one million lives of its clan to hijack public opinion so that the Law Realm is united in its desire to destroy the Skywings, our Mu Clan will have no choice but to go to war against the Skywings," Mu Qiyun gravely said. The Mu Clan elders all had ashen expressions as he spoke.
The nickname of the Skywing was the Demonic Blade! This blade wouldn't just kill people, but also gods and demons!
No one in the Law Realm wanted to make an enemy of this demonic blade!
"Go back. Your grandfather can't agree to this request of yours no matter," Mu Qiyun said to his granddaughter with a grimace.
Mu Fuping was astonished. She had asked a lot of things of her grandfather, but this was the first time she had been rejected! And when she needed him the most!
"Men! Have Miss Fuping locked away! No one is allowed to meet her without my order!"
Mu Qiyun turned away as he painfully ordered.
He knew Mu Fuping's personality. If she was allowed to, she would definitely go over to Xia Fei and tell him what was going on, and Mu Qiyun could no longer stand it. For the sake of the massive Withered Mu Clan, he had no other choice!
Mu Fuping's eyes widened as she stared in a daze at her grandfather, not understanding why he was treating her like this.
At this moment, the spy from the Mu Clan returned! And he was even more nervous than last time!
"Report! The Skywings have arrived at the Cherry Garden! They're currently assaulting the Sky Curtain!"
*Thump!*
Mu Qiyun's heart twitched as he paled. "So quickly?!"
However, Mu Qiyun then laughed to himself. "What am I saying? These are the Skywings!"
...
*Rumble!*
Explosions carpeted the heavens and earth! The thirty-six Law Emperors and two Law Overlords of the Xia family attacked in unison! Their target was the protective Sky Curtain of the Moonward Clan!
The faint white Sky Curtain encompassed the hundreds of acres of Cherry Garden like a giant bell. At present, under the combined attacks of the madmen of the Skywing Clan, this law barrier, which protected the clan, was on the verge of collapsing!
*Zing!*
Xia Fei was once more the last to arrive, just in time to behold a shocking sight!
Numerous figures could be seen flying like lightning bolts, howling as they smashed into the law curtain!
The Skywing Clan comprised Speed Law experts entirely. No exception!
They first created some distance, and then they suddenly accelerated, charging at almost light speed, ramming with their weapons!
Very fast!
Extremely fast!
Absurdly fast!
Xia Fei could not tell if their speed per second was several hundred thousand or several million meters! Even with his eyes that had been enhanced by the Beast Spirit Codex, he still could not keep up!
All he could see were afterimages! Countless afterimages!
It was impossible to imagine! Thirty-eight people had become several thousand!
This was because the afterimages from before had yet to fade entirely when new afterimages appeared!
Xia Fei gritted his teeth!
He prepared the Law of Primal Chaos to break through this law seal in a single go! After all, the Law of Primal Chaos existed to reverse the laws of others.
*Rumble!*
Xia Fei had just made up his mind when the spectacle-wearing Law Overlord, Xia Tian, blasted apart the Moonward Clan's Sky Curtain with a single punch!
Among all the martial arts in the universe, only speed was without flaw!
When the Skywings had business, a puny Law Isolation could not stop them!
*Zing zing zing!*
A pack of red-eyed madmen rushed into the last base of the Moonward Clan in White Horse Constellation, the Cherry Garden!
It had only been two minutes since they flattened Plum Garden!

Sword System Academia
2/17 NOTICE: I'm putting this on hiatus, possibly permanently. I didn't want to spam with an "update chapter", so hopefully here and in the story blurb will get enough eyeballs. There are a couple reasons for ending SSA for now. 1) I wrote the next chapter but wasn't happy with it. I've been less and less satisfied with SSA's quality the more I thought about it. Part of the reason is... 2) I am seriously thinking about trying to publish some novels to help pay the bills, since I don't have my other source of income anymore. I have never asked for anything from SSA readers, no money, not even a review or rating. SSA is written for fun to amuse myself, primarily, and I would kind of feel bad actually charging someone money for something as unserious as that. I don't think it is good enough to ask anything in return. To use an analogy from music, SSA is more like a jam session with a bunch of friends. You're just chiling and having fun playing some music. I mean, if you are Mozart or even Eminem, your jam session is good enough to sell, but for an amateur beginner like myself, haha, no. If I want to publish something, I feel like I need to go the proper route of practice and rehearsals, which might be more similar to a classical concert performance. With SSA, I work from worldbuilding notes and a loose outline, but what you are essentially getting is the first draft with lots of so-called pantsing. Pushing out a web novel like this also means it is very difficult to go back and improve things without breaking everything else downstream. I wanted to try this "jamming" approach, as it was a good way to teach me about another aspect of writing, but to move forward, I think I need to hone my "classical" techniques, which emphasize rewriting, or at least, revising outlines. 3) While I intend to try to make $$$, my actual current goal is to "get gud". I've spent a lot of time recently trying to understand the self-publishing industry, and I'm pretty sure I can make some money by using short-term strategies with my current amateur skill level. But I've seen too many authors come and go/burnout, and really, the only way that I think I can enjoy writing and still make money on a long-term basis is to become a better writer. And the next step for me, which I haven't done much before, is to spend more time on rewriting and outlines. That is pretty much antithetical to the way SSA is developing. I've always been kind of 20/80 plotting/pantsing, but I want to spend a lot more time outlining before I even start writing. SSA jam sessions don't really fit my goal anymore. If you're curious about what's next, read on... Among other regrets, I regret not finishing SSA. It's the first story I've dropped, but then again, it's the first web novel I've attempted, so I suppose that's not a surprise. I don't think traditional web novel formats suit me that well. The whole SSA story I had loosely planned (beyond a first book or major arc) is way too large as well. Big story = good for neverending webnovel with Patreons, bad for penniless and fickle writer like me. I am currently outlining a complete trilogy to another story in great detail. I want the story to end concisely, and I also want the chance to really spend a lot of time on the full outline to spot pacing problems, character issues, lost themes, and so on. I'll still share this story on RR. What I intend to do is finish book 1, flash-publish the whole thing here for a few weeks, then publish on the big Zon. Repeat for books 2 and 3. The upcoming story will be about crafting heroes. The backdrop is an isekai-like setting, where elves will summon humans to their world as heroes, but the whole hero crafting business is still in its infancy. The elven mage researchers are figuring out how to imbue heroes with power, while the heroes are trying to figure out how to use the powers that they gain. Humans are the best hero templates because they are blank and have no intrinsic magic. Or at least that what the elves thought. The human MC has his own secrets... There will be some similarities with litrpgs, but I would call it more a progression fantasy or gamelit story. For example, the stats are very low, at least initially. Say we have a stat called Str. Going from Str = 1 to Str = 2 is a huge deal. Also, going from Dex = 0 to Dex = 1 is an even bigger deal. I guess you could call it a "low-stat litrpg", haha. Also, the heroes won't be gaining stats simply by killing things or leveling up. You can't increase stats arbitrarily, either. There will be rules to how stats can increase, and how they work with each other. The elven mages will be figuring out these rules in order to craft stronger and stronger heroes. Some inspiration will be from cultivation magic systems, but there won't be overt cultivation, at least for now. A theme I really want to explore is the idea of interactions. That includes things like hero crafter vs hero, tactics vs strategy, skill synergies, racial interactions (dwarves, elves, etc), and son. Yeah, so hero crafting. I'm super excited about this project and venturing into publishing. If you want to check out the upcoming story, you can follow my RR author profile to see when it drops here. Finally... THANK YOU TO EVERYONE! I'm very sorry that SSA is stopping, but I hope at least some of you will find the next story at least as enjoyable, if not more. Thanks to all the readers who gave SSA a shot. Big hug or solid fistbump to all of you, whichever you prefer! I hope this message is not a downer but an upper, because I am psyched!! -purlcray -------------- BLURB: Talen, youngest Master of the Koroi, makes his way to the Empire's capital to salvage his clan's fate. But the bustling city has few opportunities for the traditionalist. For the old sword clans are fading. With the rise of alchemy, gold can purchase strength that ordinarily took years of training to cultivate. Sword artists, once rare and accomplished, are quickly growing in number, especially among the wealthy noble class. Even with such alchemy, though, no one has advanced to the rank of Grandmaster in countless years. Talen's true dream is to walk the path of a sword artist to the very end while fulfilling his clan duties. And then the Swordgeists return, fabled founders of all sword arts, gods who had touched the world long ago and vanished. These myths turned into reality warn of a coming threat. Alongside this warning, they issue an invitation to the Sword System Academy, a path to power beyond the mortal realm. But first, they will hold an entrance exam... Story notes:Sword System Academia blends elements of western and asian fantasy such as xianxia and litrpg. I took parts from different genres I enjoyed and twisted them into my own creation. There will be an explicit system, both of the litrpg kind and the hard(ish) magic kind, but it is embedded within an academic structure that will develop over the course of the story. This is my attempt to design a unique type of system, the System Academia.
