Chapter 419: Darkness Ability

“Because she has Ryun’s brand on her body. If you kill her, High Priest Ryun will immediately know. Not only am I not willing to make High Priest Ryun my enemy, none of the people behind me want it either. There is no need to provoke that superior being.”

Xia Fei stretched his limbs. The ability to control darkness was truly frightening. Every particle of air in the darkness was seemingly an avatar of Halleh, and resisting Halleh for several minutes had taken up far too much of Xia Fei’s energy, so his limbs ached.

Xia Fei stared at the dwindling darkness in Halleh’s hand and said nothing. This was his first time encountering a darkness ability user, and he noted down all of Halleh’s movements in hopes of finding a solution to them.

Halleh laughed. “What? You still want to challenge me?”

Xia Fei replied, “Not for now, at least. Your darkness ability is too formidable.”

Halleh said, “I suppose you have some sense in that brain of yours. If I didn’t have the confidence to deal with you, I wouldn’t have come alone. By the way, did you know which of Duabi’s men was Uti’s confidant?”

“That one-armed fellow,” Xia Fei simply replied.

Halleh was startled. “How did you guess it was him?”

Xia Fei replied, “He was very calm and collected the entire time, but when you said that one of them had received secret orders from Uti, he clearly became agitated, his heart beat and blood pressure rising.”

Halleh curiously asked, “You were able to guess that it was him from just that?”

Xia Fei nodded, but he did not say anymore. At this time, Mingjing stood up. Besides the usual slack look in her eyes, there was also some confusion. Xia Fei had not cared about the other items, but his ears perked up when he heard that he could kill Uti and end the war. This was exactly what he had wanted!

Xia Fei was shaken, but he maintained his silence. Until he determined Halleh’s goal, silently listening was his best choice.

Halleh waved his hand, creating a black cube of darkness beneath him and Xia Fei. This object lacked any solidity yet felt cool to the touch. It was probably created from his darkness ability.

“It’s somewhat of a hassle to talk about, so sit down and listen.”

After saying this, Halleh sat himself on his black cube. This seemingly substanceless object was actually able to hold his weight! Xia Fei became very curious, so he planned to sit down, but Furball got there first, jumping onto the black cube, opening his mouth, and howling!

Just now, in the darkness, Furball felt as if someone had seized his neck, preventing him from spitting out an energy ball to kill Mingjing. He had been suppressing this frustration this entire time, so when he saw Halleh once more release his darkness ability, he could not help but lunge at it and eat it up!

Halleh’s eyes widened. What he had released was darkness! He had long ago heard about the formidable exotic beast at Xia Fei’s side which could convert matter to energy, but this was the first time he had heard about it being able to eat darkness. There was a exotic beast that could eat darkness? Halleh considered himself lucky that he had managed to seize Furball’s vital point. Otherwise, that beast really might have been able to break through his darkness ability.

Initially, Halleh had not taken Xia Fei as too much of a strength, but now, he was forced to reconsider his threat assessment of his human and his pet, and his eyes became wary.

Xia Fei sighed as he grabbed Furball and put him away. Revealing his prowess in front of a powerful enemy was not a good thing. He had still been planning to find an opportunity to kill Halleh, but Furball’s display of power had probably raised their foe’s guard. Defeating this Immortal rank darkness warrior would now be even more difficult.
