Is That A Wisp? Chapter 463

Krune quickly put those Godly Stones away and sent his Spiritual Energy into the Light Pillar. Immediately, he was teleported inside to take the next level test.
When Krune opened his eyes again, he noticed that he was in front of a corridor. Inside, he could see several windows that blocked the passage. However, even after getting close to them, there was no reaction. Looking behind, there was no way back either.
Krune touched the window in front and sent his Spiritual Energy inside. However, there was no reaction. While Krune pondered, a stream of information appeared in his mind.
"The Windows of Laws. To open the way, you must use your Laws. Once a threshold is achieved, the window in front of you will shatter. The level of the laws necessary depends on the contestant's cultivation."
"Lakin: 6th Stage of the Soul Forging Realm."
Suddenly, all the windows in front of Krune shined brightly for a few seconds before returning to normal.
"Difficult level adjusted to the 6th Stage of the Soul Forging Realm. You may try, if after one minute no window is broken, the contestant will be sent back. Once a window is broken, the counter resets, and you will have another minute to break the next one. Any laws are accepted. The minimal number of broken windows accepted is 50. If the contestant gets less than that, he will be sent back as well."
Krune nodded. He finally understood how it works.
"Well, my most advanced Law at the moment is fire, so I guess I'll go with it."
But just as Krune was about to touch the window...
Shatter!
It crumbled in front of him.
"This... Sure, I was already gathering the Fire Laws around me, but I didn't even touch the window, so how did it shatter?"
Hearing that made Light Spirit laugh.
"Isn't that obvious? Just how many can compare with you in Laws Comprehension? Don't forget that this corridor was adjusted to your Cultivation Level. It probably used the average comprehension of laws that ordinary 6th Stage Soul Forging Realm cultivators and demon beasts would have. Obvious, just by feeling your Fire Laws, it shattered straight away."
Krune nodded. It indeed made sense.
Krune then started to walk to the new window.
Shatter!
Once again, it broke before even getting close to it.
Krune didn't mind and kept walking.
Shatter, shatter, shatter...
Outside, everyone was pressing their hands against the Light Pillar. The reason is that Krune had entered straight away. They all saw him getting ten Godly Stones, so it was evident that had he entered the top 10 in the previous level.

They couldn't see what was happening inside, but they could at least check the ranks. All they had to do was to check the positions for the Second Level and wait to see if a new name would go up in the list. Considering that Krune was part of the top 10 before, he should be able to do pretty well here too.
Around 5 minutes later, a name finally entered the top 100.
100- Lakin, 72 Broken Windows.
Sure enough, it began to rise.
99- Lakin, 74 Broken Windows.
98- Lakin, 75 Broken Windows.
97- Lakin...
73- Lakin...
53- Lakin...
Back inside the White Pillar, Krune was finally able to touch one of the Windows in front of him. Even though it seemed to be on the verge of breaking, it could at least resist his Laws. Of course, the idea was to force the Laws against the window, not keep it around his own body.
"Oh! It seems like the test is finally getting harder."
Krune didn't waste time and immediately gathered his fire laws on the window... or so he tried. The moment he thought about doing it, the window already broke.
Krune shrugged his shoulder and simply ignored it. Since it was this easy, he might as well keep going forward.
Shatter, shatter, shatter...
Outside, everyone looked as Lakin's position raised in the rank.
42- Lakin;
31- Lakin;
16- Lakin;
9- Lakin;
3- Lakin...
Once again, Krune stopped in front of a window. This time, it could at least resist his Fire Laws being purposely gathered around it. Krune pondered a bit and looked behind. He had already broken way more than fifty Windows, so he wondered if he should stop it here. However, Heavin immediately reminded him.
"Did you forget the Godly Stones reward? The more we get, the faster we can move forward. Don't waste your time and shatter more."
Krune admitted that Heavin was right.
"Indeed. The higher my position, the more Godly Stones I will get. I will continue until I can't shatter any window anymore. I hope this is enough to enter the top 100, at least."
Heavin nodded before they continued. Fire Laws gathered on Krune's hands, and he forcefully injected it into the window. However, that was supposed to be how most of the contestants would do from the very start...
Shatter, shatter, shatter!
Outside, Lakin's name had already arrived in the 1st place a long time ago. Still, the number of windows shattered continued to increase.

3-Junkol Avalan, 214 windows shattered.
2- Warsenil Vinqol, 224 windows shattered.
1- Lakin... 329 windows shattered, and the number continued to increase
Everyone had already gone numb with those results.
"What kind of monster is he? Is it really possible for someone to understand laws to the extent?"
"No wonder he took first place in the previous level. He completely destroyed the other competitors back then, and he is doing it once more now. This is terrifying!"
"No doubt those Heavenly Soul Owners and other Geniuses who went ahead will notice his presence."
"Idiot! Can't you see? He is trying to humiliate all of them on purpose! These kind of geniuses are very arrogant, so he is buying a fight against all of them. This is his way of saying 'The Heavenly Competition is Mine!'"
"Indeed. Only a Heavenly Soul Owner could possibly reach this extent. This is totally a war declaration."
Back inside, Krune was worried if he had shattered enough windows to at least get a few more Godly Stones...
Finally, on the 383rd window, Krune stopped. His comprehension of the Fire Laws was not sufficient to shatter the windows in front of him anymore.
"I guess this is it. Anyway, I should have got in the top 100, at least."
Heavin then asked.
"What happens if you use other laws?"
Krune only shook his head, though.
"I tried my Earth laws, which I have my second highest progress. But it didn't even budge."
It was at this moment that Light Spirit snorted.
"Why are you even using these laws? Can any of them compare with my Purple Tribulation Lightning ones? Stop wasting time and use it already."
Krune couldn't help but ask, though.
"But if I compare to the others, my Purple Tribulation Lighting laws are far behind. I haven't achieved culmination with any of its sub-laws yet."
Light Spirit didn't care.
"It doesn't matter since my laws are not at the same level. Instead of making questions, just use it already."
Krune and Heavin looked at each other before nodding. It was not like they would lose anything anyway.
Krune started to gather the Purple Tribulation Lightning laws when suddenly.
Shatter... shatter, shatter, shatter, shatter, shatter, shatter, shatter, shatter, shatter...
Krune's mouth twitched, seeing that. The next twenty-three windows in front of him shattered all at once. Even Heavin looked at that with his parrot puppet eyes open wide!
"Isn't this a little too exaggerated?"
Light Spirit didn't look the least bit surprised, though.
"My Purple Tribulation Lightning laws were created in the Higher Realms. You can't really expect the Laws of the Lower Realms to compare, right? Did you forget what I said in the first level? Godly Energy makes the Laws completely clear there. So the proficiency of those who spend their days there is several times higher than anyone in this place. That being said, you can see what happens when you use a type of Law that wasn't supposed to be here to start with."
Krune sighed and just nodded. Since that was the case, continue.
He decided to keep moving forward until the Purple Tribulation Lightning couldn't break anything anymore. However, after he broke the 500th window... there was nothing more to be broken!
"Hum? Could it be that I destroyed all the windows?"
Krune was right. This second test was supposed to have only 500 windows in total. In fact, its creator didn't expect that anyone in the Lower Realms would ever reach the last window to start with. With that... Krune got stuck there until the 'one-minute rule' was finally gone. The Light Pillar then activated and sent him to the third level.
As for the people and beasts outside, they felt like they were in the middle of a dream. Most of them had received information from their own backgrounds of how those Light Pillars worked. So they also heard about the recordist in this category. It was someone from over a thousand Chaos Cycles ago called Binkian Solue, a cultivator. At that time, he had shattered 354 windows. However...
"500 windows..."
"Did he stop at 500 on purpose?"
"Does it matter? He destroyed all the previous records. What if he stopped at 500 or if there was only 500 to start with. No one will ever forget this name again."
As for a certain clueless wisp...
"I just hope there weren't many cultivators and demon beasts who broke all 500 windows before me."

Code Reader Kagami (LitRPG)
Sometimes things happen in this world that we are not in control of. Sometimes we are to a certain degree, and sometimes we are completely in control. However, this is a tale that constantly questions those boundaries. The story follows Kagami, a young programmer, as he winds up in a world almost alien to him. If it were up to him, he would have never visited this world and would rather stay raising his young daughter. Was it through his own actions that he had wound up here? Was it due to several combinations of factors? Or was it something he completely chose. These are questions that constantly haunt Kagami’s mind as he wanders this world and ponders his actions. Unfortunately, the glaring truth of it all refuses to ever look him in the eyes. Each night as he looks up at the night sky, he wonders if the end of this would turn out like the game he made. A tale of Guts and Glory… or would it turn out like he fears, a tale of blood and tears. Regardless of how it turns out, he will one day unveil the truth enshrouding it all. And perhaps in doing so, unveil the fate of his old world, enshrouded by mystery. ___________________________________________________________________________ While this is a typical Isekai started by the infamous truck-kun, the story is most definitely not what is to be taken at face value. I love making tragic twists into these types of stories. For Code Reader Kagami, you'll begin to see a descent into psychological madness. As your hero changes entirely from the moral man he initially was. If you're not a fan of dark aspect stories, this one is not for you. Thank you~
