The Rise Of Nathalia Carter Chapter 856

Clarence took Angelo to a restaurant with a high level of privacy. After breakfast, Clarence suddenly asked, "Is Angeline all right?"
"Yeah. She's fine."
Clarence indeed came to her for Angeline, she thought. After all, she wasn't close to Clarence.
"I heard that…" Clarence hesitated to speak. Angelo looked at her curiously, wondering what he wanted to say.
"What?"
"Angeline and Drake broke their engagement."
When Clarence finished his words, the atmosphere became dull.
They didn't release the news, so few people knew about it.
After a while, Angelo looked down and admitted it, "Yes."
Even if Drake didn't make it public for protecting her fame, it couldn't be a secret forever. Anyone would have confusion if the engaged couple didn't get married.
She was a public figure, and there were more eyes on her. So, it was impossible to keep it a secret.
Angelo seemed to understand why Clarence came to her. "You must be worried about her, are you?" said Angelo in a casual manner.
"Don't worry. Angeline isn't so close to Drake. The engagement is a decision made by our grandparents. Angeline never wanted to marry Drake. So, breaking off the engagement is the best choice," lied Angelo.
Anyway, no one knew how sad she was except for Drake. She didn't want anyone else to know it now.
She had already let it go.
"Oh, I see," Clarence seemed to be relieved, "So, they just acted intimately, did they?"
"Yeah. You know, Drake is always in the limelight. Other men won't dare to approach Angeline if they know he was the fiancé of her."
Hearing that, Clarence seemed relieved. He was shocked when he learned the news about the engagement. Now, he was pretty excited. He had thought that he had no chance. But since Drake broke his engagement with Angeline, his opportunity came.

"Is that what you want to talk to me about?" Angelo supported her head with her hand and looked at Clarence. She was kind of touched. Anyway, there was someone who cared about her.
"Yeah. I have wanted to ask, but I don't want to be rude."
"No. People fall in love and break up. That happens. I believe Angeline will find her Mr. Right. Thanks for your concern, Mr. Wilson."
That was also Angelo's wish. But she was depressed when she thought of her condition right now.
How could she get out of the Thorne house?

When she got back to the Thorne house, she thought about going to Green to switch her identity into Angeline. Then she could go to Clarence to talk about the new movie.
But as she walked into the house, she felt that the atmosphere didn't seem right.
Drake was sitting in the living room, but he was usually in the company at this time. Corrine was also there. Angelo walked in and found Zoey and Patrick even there.
What happened?
Angelo was about to ask when Drake raised his head to look at her, and his eyes were indeed cold.
"An…"
"Angelo," Corrine interrupted her before she finished her words. She looked at Corrine and forced a smile.
"What's wrong, grandma? What are you doing?"
"Where have you been this morning?" asked Corrine seriously.
Angelo got anxious. They seemed to know something, or they couldn't be like this. So, she couldn't lie to them.
"Clarence wanted to talk with me about Angeline's new movie, so we went out for breakfast."
Angelo lowered her head as if she had done something wrong.
"Clarence? That director?" Corrine knew Clarence. Few young men could be as successful as him.

"Yeah. Angeline works at his company. She has been busy with the affairs of the Watts family. I happened to be available. So, I will represent her to talk with him."
Corrine's face seemed to be relieved. Angelo hurried to come up and said, "What happened, grandma? You scared me."
Corrine finally believed her and relaxed, "Check the news online. I believe in you, but others may not."
Angelo was puzzled and took her phone to check Twitter. On it, there were pictures of her and Clarence.
Pictures started from their encounter at the airport. Next, they were about Clarence coming to the Thorne house to talk with her about the award. Then, there was Clarence holding her in front of the restaurant. Finally, it was their meeting outside the Thorne house this morning.
There were so many pictures, some she knew but some she didn't.
Later, Angelo fixed her eyes on one picture. It must be taken when Clarence fastened the seat belt for her this morning. The image was a blur, which made them look quite intimate, looking like they were kissing.
Next, it was a picture of Clarence touching her head. It could prove that it was them in the car.
The more she looked, the more serious her face became. She browsed it. Suddenly, the news disappeared as well as the comments with "gay" words.
However, new pictures and titles kept coming up. It seemed that someone wanted to ruin her fame.
Drake had been staring at her. She could sense his gaze, so she was very nervous. Finally, she put her phone away.
"Grandma, these are rumors. It's not what you think…" Angelo wanted to cry for being wronged. She had never expected that someone would photograph her outside the house. She wasn't on her guard.
"Then what's it?" asked Drake but not Corrine.
Angelo felt so much pressure that she couldn't even breathe.
"We're just…" Angelo tried to explain when Drake interrupted her, "I've told you to stay away from him yesterday. Why are you so stubborn? Don't you remember?"
Angelo stayed, and her eyes were wet, "Yeah."
"Then why do you go to see him?"
"Because…"
"Angeline is a grown-up. She should handle her work herself. Even if you're her brother, you needn't do that for her," Drake sounded suppressive. Angelo didn't know what to say.
Corrine was about to stop him when he said, "Go back to your room. You can't come out without my permission."
