The Rise Of Nathalia Carter Chapter 832

Drake remained silent. Angelo's smiling face appeared in his mind.
"Find out the reason. All resources are available to you."
Drake's words shocked Lisa, who then replied, "Yeah."
It was the first time Drake purchased a company with such soft means.
Is it because of Angelo? Wow, the boss cares so much about his brother!
Thinking like that, Lisa left the office and started her investigation.
With the sources of the Thorne, she could find things that happened ten years ago. What was more, she might find out about the incident that happened to the leading Watts family twenty years ago.
At this time in the Thorne house, Angelo was standing in front of the window on the second floor and was looking outside. Nathan came again.
He was just kicked out of here yesterday, but now he came again with the wound. Outside the gate, he stood there and wouldn't leave.
Angelo smiled as she looked but then tears welled up.
If Nathan cared about her a little bit, she wouldn't have died at the Watts house. But for Stella, his sister, he would do anything. So, it proved that she meant nothing to him.
Now it was July, the hottest time of the year. The cicadas were screaming in the trees.
Angelo saw that Nathan looked quite weak. Finally, she took a deep breath and walked to the gate.
"Where are you going, Mr. Angelo?"
Hale hurried to catch up. He had been on his guard since yesterday. So, he couldn't let Angelo be alone with Nathan.
Angelo knew what Hale was worried about. Because of her trick yesterday, Drake punished Hale. So, she smiled and said, "Don't worry. I just talk to him for a while."
Hale had no idea what happened yesterday, so he had been blaming himself for not protecting Angelo well. He was punished, but he thought he deserved it. Since Angelo insisted on meeting Nathan, he could only follow her.

Under the hot sun, Nathan saw Angelo coming. He swallowed, and his face seemed relaxed.
"Mr. Angelo…"
His voice sounded coarse.
Angelo raised her chin, "As I remember, you are close to the Watts family. Why do you come to me for help?"
Outside the gate, Nathan's face changed.
"I used to be their prospective son-in-law. But since Angela died, I wasn't close to them anymore."
Nathan lowered his head, looking quite sad.
But Angelo felt sick of his look.
How dare he mention Angela?
Who was the one pressing her on the ground and trying to take her heart out?
"Not close to them?" sneered Angelo, sounding cold.
"Why? Did Angela's death have something to do with them?"
With a gate in between, Angelo stared at Nathan. As she expected, Nathan's face changed when he heard that.
It was a hot day, and Nathan, who had been standing in the sun for so long that he sweated. But when he heard Angelo, he felt a sudden chill in his back.
"What are you talking about, Mr. Angelo?"
"Then you tell me why you alienated them."
Angelo stared at him. There had been a puzzle in her heart since she came back to life.
The Watts and Nathan had intended to take her heart for Ivy but she had stabbed her heart with a knife. In theory, the heart had such a complex structure that a little damage would ruin it. That was why she had died in a short time.
So, here comes the question: how did Ivy survive without her heart? Now she lived quite well and didn't look like a girl who had heart disease.
Outside the door, Nathan had not spoken for a while. But Angelo noticed that his face changed again.

He seemed to be scared.
"You can go back if you have nothing to say. I won't help people like you."
Angelo turned to leave. She had not expected to hear something from Nathan. But suddenly, Nathan screamed, "Sir, please help my sister. She will die in the Watts family!"
Angelo paused.
Beside her, Hale frowned after hearing Nathan. He didn't want Angelo to get into their dirty business. Somehow, he felt that Angelo had a special feeling for the Watts that he couldn't stop her.
"What do you mean?" Angelo turned back, "Why did you say that?"
Seeing that Angelo started to care about it, Hale walked away and texted Drake.
Right now, Nathan had given up the last trace of dignity. He slowly bent down.
"Ivy needs a healthy heart. I just found that they are going to take my sister's heart," explained Nathan desperately.
Angelo seemed to hear a buzz in her ears.
It turned out that Ivy still needed a heart.

When Drake got home, Nathan had already left.
Angelo was sitting on the sofa, playing with something in her hands and looking in a good mood.
Hale came up to Drake and told him about what had happened today. Drake didn't look happy after hearing him.
"Brother? Why are you back?"
Angelo turned and saw Drake there. She was confused. Usually, at this time, Drake should work in the company.
"What was Nathan doing here?"
Drake came up, looking upset.
He wasn't angry with Angelo but himself.
He had thought that everything was settled since he had forbidden Nathan in, but he didn't expect that he would wait outside. He would have made him unable to come if he had known this.
Hearing Drake, Angelo seemed to know something. She glanced at Hale and got everything.
Hale might be frightened by Nathan's words that he told Drake about it.
"Nathan said the Watts wanted to take the heart of his sister for Ivy. So, he came to beg for my favor."
Lying against the sofa, Angelo said in a casual tone. But Drake's face looked worse.
"That's their business. You needn't meddle in it."
But Angelo looked at Drake with a deep smile, and then she shook the thing in her hand.
"No, I can't. I will be damned if I leave them alone now that Nathan has given me the seal of the Hill."

A Titan's Crusade
Erik Thayne spent most of his life being brutally ridiculed and tormented for his weight and physical appearance, among other things. A social pariah and diagnosed with an eating disorder no one has an explanation or treatment for, Erik spent years trying to overcome his issues with his personal image and escape the ridicule and vicious torment of his peers. After years of dedicated effort, and a fresh start in a town away from his childhood and adolescent tormentors, he had finally begun to truly realize what he'd been striving for all along. Only, fate apparently has other plans because in the blink of an eye, Erik found himself snatched from Earth and taken to another universe, another world, where he is offered the chance to be more than he'd ever imagined. Now, he has to fight to restore the Balance between Chaos and Order on a world of swords and magic, in a universe governed by the System's laws, which resemble those of RPGs from Earth. Erik learned to embrace the things about himself that others taught him to hate, using them to reforge his physical identity into something more removed from his old self-loathing. But can he learn to embrace the darkest parts of his mind just as he did the reviled aspects of his body and become who he needs to be to succeed in the task set before him? It might just prove easier to stalk in the dark as a monster than to walk in the light as a man... *This is my first time publishing anything I've written to a public audience. Due to formatting issues, I forwent traditional stat-screens for something a little less problematic, delineating stat screens by separating them from regular text with horizontal lines in a lighter-grey coloration. Let me know if you like them or not. Criticism is entirely welcome, but please don't hate on my work after only reading 1 chapter. This is a writing project I intend to complete but I have committment problems so we'll see how long this goes on. Also, fair warning, as the description implies, the main protagonist is intended to be someone who has been treated cruelly, developed antisocial tendencies, and ultimately has to question his own humanity--or lack thereof. This story is not intended to be brutally dark but I will definitely be trying to follow a darker theme. It is intended to be violent and some scenes later in the story might be...alarming. There will likely also be some light, non-graphic (think more implied with crude jokes and conversation than actual details, there will be no full-blown sex scenes)relationship scenes planned later and if you're opposed to either a bisexual or gay main character, stay away. I haven't yet decided which way he's going to swing but the odds on him being straight are relatively miniscule, and I've always wanted to write a story about a gay man who basically looks like a lumberjack because who doesn't like giving conventional stereo-types the middle finger? This will NOT be a harem story, and I have no intention to focus on romance over action--it's a consequence of character development where I'm concerned, not the be-all-end-all of the story. The cover-art does not, in any way, belong to me. It was an image titled the Druid King (by duskanmarkovic according to the file name) which I found on Google Images. Until I can get something commissioned, this is the best stand-in image I could find.
