The Rise Of Nathalia Carter Chapter 706

Angelo followed behind him and got off the plane. Someone was already waiting there. He came up and took the trunk from Drake.
"Nice to meet you, Mr. Thorne. I'm Absolon. Mr. Taylor has been waiting for you. It's late now. How about I take you to the hotel to have a rest first?"
They have jet lag and needed to rest to adjust themselves.
"Yeah," Drake answered, turning to look at Angelo, whom Absolon also noticed.
"Nice to meet you, Mr…."
"Angelo. My brother."
"It's so good to see you, Mr. Angelo. I'm Absolon."
When he finished his words, he handed the trunk to a man beside him, walked forward, and wanted to shake hands with Angelo.
Drake frowned as he saw them shaking and then looked at Absolon.
"Angelo comes with no luggage. Ask a man to take him to buy some clothes and book a room for him, please."
"Yeah, Mr. Drake."
Absolon nodded to a man beside him, then he led Drake to the car.
Angelo remembered her intention here after she saw Drake get in the car. She had the chance to please him only when she lived with him.
Thinking of that, she hurried to sit next to Drake, who was confused.
"Drake, I thought it through. I know I caused you trouble this time, so I can't give you more trouble."
While talking, Angelo handed the card to Drake with a look of ingratiation.
"You bring a lot of clothes, right? I can wear yours."
Looking at the trunk, Angelo thought that Drake, as the CEO of his company, must bring a lot of clothes. She could wear his.
But actually, Drake just took with three sets of clothes, and he was a neat freak.

When Drake was about to refuse, Angelo grabbed his sleeve and looked at him with supplication.
"Promise me, brother. Besides, it's so late now. The stores may be closed."
"Yeah. Mr. Angelo is right."
Absolon was sophisticated. That was why he was sent to pick up Drake. However, Drake looked cold but more softened than before. So, Absolon said that to help Angelo.
Looking at Angelo, Drake finally nodded.
Soon, they arrived at the hotel. It was the best hotel in France, with the best facilities.
"Book a room for Angelo."
Drake talked and walked to the elevator. And Angelo followed Absolon to the front desk.
"A presidential suite please," Absolon said.
The receptionist checked the computer and then smiled apologetically.
"I'm sorry, sir. All the rooms have been booked."
"How about going to another hotel, Mr. Angelo?"
Absolon looked at Angelo, who shook his head at once. The hotel was located in the suburb, and there are no other hotels nearby.
If she lived in another hotel, it might take half an hour to come here. Besides, Hale was not here, no one would send her. It went against her plan.
"Where's my brother's room? I'll go to him."
She knew there were several rooms in the presidential suite and made a decision.
Absolon led Angelo to the door of Drake's room.
"Thanks, Mr. Absolon. I can enter myself," said Angelo.
Since she got here, there was nothing else for Absolon to do. Besides, it was late, she didn't want to keep bothering him.
"Yeah. Here is my card, Mr. Angelo. You can call me at any time," Absolon said. He handed his card to Angelo and then turned away.
Angelo put away the card, took a deep breath, and then rang Drake's doorbell.

Soon, the door was opened.
Looking at Angelo standing in front, Drake frowned. Taking the chance, Angelo slipped into the room.
"I come to take some clothes," Angelo said and opened the trunk. She took a shirt from it and checked if it suited her.
Then she found that there were only three sets of clothes. She was surprised. Generally, a CEO should bring more than ten sets of clothes on his business trip.
"Choose one and go back to your room."
Drake watched Angelo rummaging through his suitcase, his eyebrows raised, and he felt unhappy.
Angelo felt the cold aura and shivered. Then she packed his stuff.
She picked up the white shirt and entered the bathroom.
Seeing that, Drake put the trunk aside and asked, "What are you doing, Angelo?"
"I'm so tired now. I want to take a shower here. You don't mind, do you?"
Before Drake could answer, there was the sound of water in the bathroom. Drake clenched, then sat down to read the newspaper.
Listening to the "clatter" in the bathroom, Drake couldn't help thinking of how Angelo used to come into his room and cuddle with him when "he" was drunk.
Somehow, his breathing became heavy. He tried to neglect the feeling and focus on the newspaper.
Half an hour later, Angelo came out. She had one set of clothes, but she only wore the shirt, the trousers were held in her hands.
She was more than sixty-seven inches tall, so she thought she could wear Drake's clothes. But she didn't expect Drake's shirt to reach her knees, let alone the trousers.
"I think I need to buy some clothes, Drake."
Angelo told Drake after thinking for a while. She shouldn't give the card back to him.
"What?"
Drake was confused. He put down the newspaper and looked to Angelo, then his eyes grew deep.
Wearing the big white shirt, Angelo's legs looked more beautiful, and her collarbone was barely visible. After the bath, there was a touch of flush on her face. She just seemed so charming.
Drake lowered his head. He felt hot inside and tried to suppress it.
He took out the card and handed it to Angelo, who took it over and sat on the couch.
Drake looked at her and said, "Go back to your room."
Hearing that, Angelo looked up at Drake with sadness in her eyes.
"This hotel is full. The nearest one will take half an hour, and I'm not sure if they have rooms now. You don't want me to sleep on the street, do you?"

Yin-Yang
Mages in North America seem to have it all – typically from well-off families, and able to manipulate their environment in ways most of the world would never believe. They don’t even have to bother with the mundane details of life like housework, thanks to their sensitives, who also make a useful source for extra magical energy. After all, sensitives have no use for it themselves, and if mages weren’t meant to make use of it, then the sensitives would obviously have some way to prevent that. That a mage can transform a sensitive physically, with no restrictions beyond overall mass and basic biological viability, whereas magic tends not to work directly on any other living thing, is only further proof. And look at the way they live on their own, barely a step above animals. It’s better for them to belong to a mage. Sensitives in North America live on the edge of society and survival – typically so paranoid they avoid hospitals and anything else that could lead to being tracked, many of them with little or no education and no legal identity or existence. Mages exist, and mages want sensitives for some reason, but no one ever comes back to explain what that reason is. Waiting every day for the hunters to notice them doesn’t lead to much motivation or hope for the future. And once they’re captured, they’re the property of someone with a terrifying amount of power over them. Anything is better than capture. Mages are born to be the masters, and sensitives are born victims. Or are they? Jax’s life is turned upside-down when he’s caught by the hunters and sold to a mage. Andreas is still mourning for his previous sensitive, though, unconsciously creating a difficult standard for Jax to live up to, all the more so while still struggling to come to terms with this new reality as Andreas’ sensitive. A runaway sensitive isn’t what Van expects at the mental health centre. Is this a hunter trap, set for him and the rest of the Donovan family by the hunters? The hunters would, after all, love to see them cross the line openly and finally do something they can be charged with. Either way, Miranda’s genuinely in trouble, and he can’t just abandon her to it. Snatching a sensitive out from under the hunters and hiding her is odd behaviour for a mage – but then, Catherine is an odd mage, living in disgrace in the old servants’ quarters of her grandmother’s house, responsible for cooking and housework. Lila owes Catherine her freedom; is there a way to help Catherine achieve her own, and at what price? Tension is building between traditionally-minded mages and those advocating change, and something has to break. *** Yin-Yang includes a small amount of profanity and no graphic sex or on-screen physical violence. However, sex and gender roles and relationships within the mage/sensitive subculture are non-traditional in mainstream North American terms. The key criterion in a primary relationship is not relative sex or gender, but the pairing of mage and sensitive; given the transformation of sensitives by their mages, physical sex is non-absolute for a sensitive, and gender identity can vary as in anyone else. *** *** The way mages treat sensitives is extremely varied and, in some cases is outright abusive. The struggle against that is pretty much the point of the book. It is NOT grimdark or misery-porn! However, if you will be triggered by this, please, don't read Yin-Yang! *** Complete stand-alone novel, 153K words! Also available on Scribble Hub and as a free ebook.
