The Rise Of Nathalia Carter Chapter 380

Katie had been keeping quiet with her father watching her, but she couldn't take it anymore and felt so unjust for Ben that she retorted boldly. "Well, I have to say that Mr. Ben Johnson is the one that has worked the hardest and made the most contribution to the company."
While Nathalia Davidson hasn't done anything at all, and she receives all the compliments. It's so unfair. She thought. Even when she is in the wrong, everyone praises her! This is ridiculous! What has she done to deserve this? These stupid, pretentious people don't have a brain!
The shareholders looked at Katie disapprovingly and then looked at Nicolas, expecting a response from him and pitying him at the same time.
"Now, you don't understand how important Mrs. Nathalia Davidson is to the company. Without her, there would be no Carter Company."
The staff in the company did look up to Nathalia and respect her very much. Though she did not go to the company often, she had gained their trust with her own charm. And she did do something for the company, and it was something of great importance.
Firstly, she had made sure that all the staff would get instant, thorough and free medical treatment if anyone got sick; secondly, for those that had worked for the company for up to five years, they received extra bonus towards the end of the year; thirdly, the children under eighteen of any unfortunately deceased staff would receive a fair amount of financial support each year till they could support themselves.
The staff was very pleased when the new policy was enforced. It gave them a great sense of security with their personal life and worked as well as a sense of loyalty to the company. They were impressed that such a policy was made by a girl of only twenty years old.

They knew that she was kind and she had treated them well, and she was a great humanitarian, so they trusted her. Frank Carter didn't have much consideration for the staff, neither did Ben Johnson, but Nathalia, only twenty years old, did.
She cared more about the benefits of the staff than the amount of money the company made, which was the biggest difference between her and Ben or Frank.
And this was what Katie Ford did not understand. "Right, I don't understand, but I know Mr. Ben Johnson is the CEO, and he has worked hard for the company." Katie reasoned self-righteously.
Richard interfered and said impatiently, "Nicolas, I'd suggest you have a good talk with your daughter soon, so she knows how to show respect."
Nicolas was angrily frustrated. What's with Katie today? This is unlike her! "Right, Richard. I apologize to my daughter."
"It seems to me that Miss Katie Ford thinks highly of Mr. Ben Johnson." Someone commented.
"Yeah. I feel the same. I wonder if they see each other?"
"Well, Mr. Ben Johnson is single, and they are about the same age."
To be honest, they did think Ben Johnson quite competent, but he was too ambitious, and he had chosen the wrong competitor. He had not have a chance to compete with Nathalia at all.
Katie blushed terribly, her face rosy red, and she said bashfully, "Please don't tease me." The shareholders, especially Richard, were shocked and felt sorry for Nicolas. She actually likes him! Good lord.
Nicolas was furious, but he couldn't tell his daughter off in front of everyone. He rolled his eyes at her angrily. What the hell is she thinking? She never mentioned it! Ben Johnson? How come? Why Ben Johnson?
Nathalia had enough of this pettish drama. She cut in casually, "By the way, when will the auction start? Is everything ready?"

Nicolas was more than happy to change the subject. "Yes, it's ready."
"I believe there are more guests coming," Ben said, taking a look at the time. It was supposed to start at nine o'clock. However, there were still a few important guests missing, and he wanted to wait a bit longer.
Nathalia was a bit disappointed that Sue didn't attend the party. She wanted to get it over soon and get home to have a good sleep and be ready to see Spencer tomorrow. Thinking about it, she felt immense joy and excitement. From now on, wherever and whenever he goes away, I will go with him. She decided. Even to space! I don't want to be away from him anymore.
She didn't know how torturing it was to miss someone. It was relatively easier during the day as there was study and worked to keep her occupied, but when night approached, she missed him so terribly that she could not sleep.
Ben's assistant went up to the stage and announced, "The auction shall commence very soon. All proceedings go to the Education Foundation established by Mrs. Nathalia Davidson to help..."
Just then, there was another commotion at the door, and everyone was curious to find out who the new arrival was.
"It's Mr. Curt Davidson and Mr. Nate Morgan." Someone exclaimed.
Everyone became excited immediately. "Together? At the same time?"
"It looks like it."
Ben was very pleased, feeling proud that both of the two most important figures attended the party. A crowd soon gathered around the door, waiting eagerly. As Curt and Nate appeared, everyone felt the air of authority and royalty of their presence. Ben quickly squeezed through the crowd and went forward to greet them.
He smiled happily and exclaimed courteously, "I'm extremely honored to see both of you here, Mr. Curt Davidson and Mr. Nate Morgan!" This is like a dream coming true! My god! The two most important people!
Curt stood tall and indifferent, without showing him any acknowledgment, while Nate glanced around the crowd and finally spotted the familiar face. "Nathalia, you are the host. What are you hiding there for?"
Nathalia rolled her eyes at him helplessly. She didn't feel like squeezing through the crowd nor competing with Ben again.
The crowd quickly moved aside, understandingly for Nathalia to pass. She moved delicately and elegantly towards Curt and Nate, the skirt of her dress sweeping the floor gently. Seeing her alone, so beautiful and radiant, Nate was stunned, and his face lit up.
Nathalia said with a smile, "Thanks for coming, Dad, Matt." Matt was standing close to Curt, but he was somehow ignored by the crowd. He responded with an appreciative smile.
The indifferent look on Curt's face disappeared at the sight of Nathalia. He said gently, "I'm glad to be here. I can't miss your events. I'm proud of you, and as you know, if there's anything you need help with, Dad's always here for you."
