The Rise Of Nathalia Carter Chapter 347

Spencer never believed that Zack was feeling apologetic at all. A leopard can't change its spots.
Nathalia was an exception in the Carters. The rest were all creeps. Zack Carter was murderous when he was fifteen. Who would believe that he had changed in two years? Even if he did, why should Nathalia and Spencer forgive him? What he did was unforgivable.
Nathalia grumbled, "I don't understand. Who is it that wants to do me harm? It's so annoying." So much had happened lately, one surprise after another. She felt like there was someone in the dark watching her and manipulating her life and the worst thing was that she had no idea where they were hiding.
Spencer frowned with worries. He realized it long ago and had got someone to investigate, but so far, they had not found any clues yet. He stroked her hair gently and comforted her, "We will find him whoever he is." He pecked a kiss on her head and changed the subject. "By the way, I need to go on a business trip for a few days. Don't miss me too much." He teased, trying to make it sound casual.
He had been wanting to her earlier but found it so difficult to let her know. He thought about how he used to go and leave wherever and whenever he wanted without caring about a thing, but now that he was in love, the thought of leaving had become so heavy.
Nathalia opened her eyes wide and grabbed his arm tight, "When? Where?" she asked anxiously.
Since they got married, Spencer had not been away once. Hearing that he would be away for some days, she had a sudden feeling of anxiety and insecurity. I don't want him to go.

Spencer kissed her sweaty forehead and said, "Africa. A very important project. I'm going in a few hours." He had started missing her already.
Nathalia pouted her lips and said timidly, "Can you not go?" She almost pleaded. And it hurt Spencer. He wanted to tell her he would stay for her, but he knew he had to be rational."I've thought it over. It's a crucial project, and I can't let him beat me."
Him? Matt? Nathalia thought. She didn't realize that Spencer cared about beating Matt so much till now. "See, you say I'm stubborn. Aren't you the same?"
Spencer smiled helplessly and said, "I am. I am. My Nathalia is right. I'm going to miss our anniversary, though. It's been almost two years since we met. Please don't be mad at me. I will bring you back to any present you want."
It was obvious that Spencer had made the decision, and he was only letting Nathalia know now. Nathalia turned her back at him, feeling upset. Why didn't he talk about it with me? No wonder he's been working long hours lately, and no wonder he made love to me so eagerly just now.
Feeling guilty, Spencer sweet-talked her for a while till she felt better. "I want the biggest diamond then!" she finally spoke, though sulking still. Of course, she didn't care about diamonds or presents. She only wanted him home soon and safe.
"Yes, madam!" Spencer heaved a sigh of relief and saluted Nathalia jokingly. "By the way, don't worry much about mum. If she makes any unreasonable request again, just talk to me, ok?"
"Yes, sir!" Nathalia saluted him this time.
The night had slowly grown to morning, and the sun shone through the window and spread its warmth onto their naked body. Though tired and sleepy, Nathalia got up, insisting on seeing Spencer off at the airport.

It was early morning, but it was bustling at the airport. There were people rushing to catch the plane; some seeing families and friends off; some welcoming the return of their loved ones.
Spencer held Nathalia's hands tight, unwilling to let go. It wasn't easy for him to say goodbye at all, but he tried to be cheerful. "Babe, you will be my good Nathalia and wait for me to come home, right? Don't go breaking any other man's heart. You hear me?" he teased.
Nathalia could tell that it was as hard to him as it was to her for them to part. She cooperated and teased him back, "And you will be a good husband. If I find out you flirt with any women, I will make you regret it." She smiled cheekily.
She didn't want him to see her cry so that it would be easier for him. Spencer didn't want to leave her at all. He even started feeling a bit remorseful for making the decision of going away."Yes, my queen. I dare not." He replied with a wink.
Tears filled Nathalia's eyes, but she managed to smile and said gently, "Please take care of yourself. Don't work too hard. You have been working a lot lately."She wanted to go with him, but Spencer was worried that the trip would be too tiring for her and he wouldn't have time to look after her.
He embraced her, squeezing her as if he would melt her into his arms. "Babe, it's just seven days, and before you know it, I will be back. I'm sure in half a year, I will have everything sorted and arranged, and I won't need to go on any business trips anymore, and I can stay with you." He said emotionally.
Even the bodyguards were surprised to see how emotional their boss reacted. They couldn't help thinking that their master had really changed.
"I will wait for you to come home, and we will celebrate mum's birthday together." Nathalia nodded tears in her eyes.
It would be Mrs. Davidson's fiftieth birthday next month, and they were to have a grand party for her. They had also planned to have their wedding ceremony after the birthday party, to finally celebrate with friends and the world, which Nathalia looked forward to very much. She was as excited as nervous about it.
"Right. And believe me, mum will change her mind very soon." He was confident that he could persuade his mother soon. Especially when Nathalia gets pregnant, she has always wanted to have grandchildren.
Nathalia knew what he was thinking, and she had been hoping to have a son like Spencer. However, Spencer would love to have a daughter like Nathalia.
"I believe you." Nathalia nodded again.
There went the announcement again that the plane was to take off soon and it was calling the late passengers. Spencer's assistant hesitated and suggested, "Boss, we will need to board soon."
On hearing so, Nathalia grew tense. She pouted her lips, looking at Spencer tearfully, trying to hold back her tears, and said, "Spencer."I don't want you to go. Please stay. She thought, but she didn't allow herself to say it.
