The Rise Of Nathalia Carter Chapter 346

Zack shivered, looking terrified, and went on begging, "Nathalia, wherever you are in my home. You are my sister, my family. Please don't leave me alone."
Seeing how pitiful he was, most people might think that he should be forgiven. However, what he had done was too brutal to be forgotten, especially for Spencer. He could recall clearly the bloody look of his wife. It hurt him terribly just thinking about it.
"I don't want any strangers in our house, Nathalia," Spencer said abruptly, looking at Zack icily.
It somehow cheered Nathalia up. She felt supported. Looking at Spencer with a smile, she nodded and said, "Neither do I."
In despair, Zack suddenly jumped at Spencer but was stopped by the bodyguards. He pleaded pathetically, "Spencer, please, you are my brother-in-law. Please take me home. I have changed. I've learned a lot. I can help at home. Really. I've been homeless in Europe, without mum and dad. I've suffered a lot. And...and..." he started sobbing again emotionally.
"I've had a hard journey coming back, and I've only got my sister left." Tears were streaming down his face.
"What can you do?" Spencer asked emotionlessly.
As if he had seen the light of hope, Zack's face lit up, and replied with excitement, "I can cook. I know how to do some housework. I can help at home. All I'm asking is a shelter and food."
Nathalia listened with a frown, wondering how Zack had changed and if he was genuine.
Spencer had his eyes fixed on Zack for a good while, and it sent a shiver down Zack's spine. Then, he waved at one of the bodyguards and said, "Take this kid to the orphanage."
Shocked, Zack exclaimed, "No! I have my sister. I'm not going to the orphanage. Please, Nathalia, you are the kindest person I know. Please! I can do anything for you. I will make it up for what I've done before."

"Mrs. Nathalia Davidson, whatever happened in the past, he is your brother." The journalists had approached them quietly, and one of them suggested timidly. "Why don't you take him in?" They knew how Zack Carter had treated Nathalia, and they did not like him much either, but seeing how desperate and miserable he was, they felt a bit sorry for him.
"Yeah. He's just a kid still. Giving him some food and a place to stay won't cost you much anyway." Another added.
"You are such a kind couple and have helped a lot of people. Why not help one more?"
Nathalia remained quiet, looking thoughtful. Spencer sneered and said, "Alright, now that everyone's pleading for you, I should take you in then."
Zack cried for joy and said, "Thank you! Thank you!"
Spencer nodded at the bodyguard, "Get a room at the staff's dormitory. Give him three meals a day, and that's it."
The journalists thought that was a decent offer, but Zack exclaimed in surprise, "Wait. But I, I want to live with my sister. We are a family."
Wow. What's wrong with him? Everyone thought. He's now asking for too much. Think about what he has done before! It seems like the Carters are all the same. Frank Carter was shameless, so were his wife and his daughter Evette Carter.
They even tried to kill Nathalia Davidson, and now that he was homeless, he came back and begged her.
Nathalia couldn't help finding it ridiculously funny. He has grown taller but not a bit wiser at all. No, he hasn't changed. Who knows what's going to happen if we take him in?!
Yet before she voiced herself, Spencer said plainly, "I'm sorry. I enjoy our privacy very much, and I don't want anyone to interfere." He made it sound like it was completely his own decision so that people had no chance to blame Nathalia. The public might accuse Nathalia of not helping Zack Carter as he was her half-brother after all, and Spencer did not allow that to happen.

Nathalia felt touched. She squeezed his hand slightly and looked at Spencer gratefully.
The journalists were impressed and commented, "Mr. Spencer Davidson, you are very protective of your wife. It's so rare and beautiful to see how deeply a couple loves each other."
"By the way, it's said that your wife, Mrs. Nathalia Davidson herself, isn't getting along well with your mother. Is it true?"
Spencer lifted his eyebrow and replied casually, "Nonsense. My mum loves Nathalia, even more than me. Anyway, will you please excuse us? We are on our way to get dinner. Enjoy your evening."
The journalists stepped aside and waved goodbye. They watched Spencer open the door for Nathalia and followed her into the car.
Just as the car started, Zack shouted, "Nathalia, sister! Don't leave me!" They drove off, oblivious to his shouting.
Zack bit his lips despairingly, his eyes tearful. He intended to run after the car, but the journalists said disdainfully, "Don't be so pathetic. It's annoying."
"Look how miserable you are."
They still remembered when they covered the news of Zack beating Nathalia. Despite his age, he was strong, and he hit her hard. No wonder they didn't think well of him. He was merciless then and treated her sister brutally. Now he's begging her to take her in. How pretentious and pathetic!
Zack stood there, looking at them in puzzlement. "I want to live with my sister, my family. What's wrong with that?"
A journalist sneered at him and said, "Well, who knows when you will turn into a monster and beat up your sister again?"
It was that incident that revealed to the public the real and nastic side of the Carter family. Everyone knew what the so-called loving parents actually were and how Nathalia was treated.
The public had since despised and lost trust in the Carters, which accelerated the decline of the family and the company.
Zack lowered his head and looked down at the ground timidly. "It was a long time ago, and you still remember. I know I've made a mistake. Why can't I be forgiven?"

No destiny, no choice, no hope. Our protagonist, a coward summoned to a world meant for heroes; a new world with new rules and old cruelties. Join him on his adventures as he must deal with menus, monsters, and mysteries in this litrpg fantasy. Thomas Goodwill was an average boy with an average life, all that changed when he woke up in a new reality. Now, out of his depth, damn near out of his mind, he must learn to survive in a game-like reality with no reloads, checkpoints, or save scumming. He does, however, have a drunk snake. Thank you for reading my first story, hopefully, the first of many to come. This will be my main story and is meant to help me practice and hone my skills as I slowly produce more complex ideas. It's a litrpg in which I want to only lightly focus on the mechanics as I don’t want to pad out the word count with math and number tables and while I want to add a few of my own twists here and there, overall I’m going to keep this story close to generic as possible so that I don't let my inexperience lead me into a corner. Thanks again to all willing to leave a review or some constructive criticism, without you I'd never improve. Unfortunately, Cover art is by me.

Beyond Floating
Muse thought her life had ended twenty years ago because, well, it had. Existing aimlessly for two decades as a ghost, she finds herself yanked along in a rip-tide of strange events. Thrust unwittingly into the midst of a group of paranormal hitmen-for-hire led by a man named Isaac. Michael, a normally rational and righteous holy soldier of God, succumbs to revenge and hatred, sacrificing everything in the fight to destroy Isaac and everyone who associates with him. Muse, by virtue of her inadvertent association with Isaac, is on that list. This is actually my first 'finished' fiction that I've ever written, which I completed about 8 years ago. I dug it up recently and I'm posting it as I thought people here might get a kick out of it. So, take that for what you will. Chapters will be released daily at 6:00pm EST.

Smoking Bandits
With a gaze that was hard to describe, Lark stared at his body in the mirror. Not his body as a human, but his other body. Head of a reptile with rows of sharp teeth, a 180 cm tall body that is full of muscles, covered in scales formed green and black tiger stripes. Clawed hands and feet, with a tail strong enough to crush an adult neck. 'Man. . . can I still be called a human?' In the end, with a deep sigh Lark changed his form back into a human. A moment later, he came out of the room wearing a combat dress, tactical belt with shoulder strap, and jungle boots. While inserting a magazine into an AK-102, Lark muttered. 'Whatever, time to hunt Orcs.' *****
