The Rise Of Nathalia Carter Chapter 321

Everyone stared in disbelief, their jaws dropped, eyes wide open.
"What...what's this?" The stout man stuttered. They stepped backward, quickly moving away from Nathalia, terrified.
Bombs were wrapped around her slim body. Judging by the number and size of them, once ignited, it would be more than powerful enough to destroy the whole warehouse.
Just a few seconds ago, these men were allured by her beauty, her slim figure, her smooth skin, thinking that she was a delicate girl, but now, they were terrified by her. They saw her as a life-threatening devil.
Her lips curved up at both ends and adorned her confident face with a calm smile. She was no longer afraid. "What is it? Hahaha. It's what you think it is!"
Of course, everyone could tell straight away what it was, but they were too shocked to acknowledge it. Who would have thought that a delicate-looking girl would wrap herself up with bombs?!
The stout man who had seen all sorts of hardcore men and women in fights had never met one like Nathalia, who grew up in a rich family and married into the Davidsons, who must have been spoiled and too fragile to fight.
"Mrs. Nathalia Davidson, stay calm. We can negotiate..." He said nervously while winking at the guy next to him to approach Nathalia. Though the guy was frightened, he dared not disobey.
Sneakily he went behind Nathalia and slowly moved towards her.
While the stout man was trying to persuade Nathalia, she looked around cautiously, and as she glanced back, she quickly took out a lighter from her pocket and lighted it. On the sight of the small yet glaring flame, everyone gasped and froze.
She moved the lighter closer to the fuse. "Let's see who's quicker, you or me!" she said with a fearless smile.

What the hell! She looks to be a fragile spoiled girl, but she's crazy! Is she not scared of dying at all?!
The guy behind her shook his head and waved his hands frantically. "No. No. No. Don't! I won't go near you! I swear!" He pleaded nervously. The back of his shirt was wet from the sweat. I don't want to die! God save me! She's not normal! She's insane. She's even tougher than our big boss's mistress.
Now Nathalia had got it under her control. The guys were terrified and had not a clue how to react.
Sophie screamed, "No. Nathalia! Don't!"Nathalia took a look at Sophie calmly and smiled as if to comfort her, her hand still holding the ignited lighter close to the bombs.
The stout man could feel his heart racing. For the first time, he realized that he might have made a stupid mistake by messing up with Nathalia. I guess whoever married into the Davidsons, to Spencer Davidson, isn't just a usual woman!
"Please, Mrs. Nathalia Davidson, stay calm. You don't want to regret it." He tried to speak steadily.
Nathalia sneered. "Regret? There's no regret in life. You are making me do this. If I have to be assaulted and murdered, why don't we die together then?"
"Aren't you, err, aren't you scared of dying?" The stout man stuttered nervously. His face had gone pale, terrified, yet he was not yet totally convinced that Nathalia was fearless. Everyone's scared of death. I haven't met anyone who isn't! Even our big boss. And she's just a spoiled, rich girl!
It's impossible. It doesn't make sense!
"Scared of dying? Hahaha. No, not at all." Nathalia laughed delightfully. "I have died once. Yes, it's painful, very painful. You feel your soul being sucked away slowly and your body being twisted and smashed. You will have your chance to feel it soon if you're interested. Hahaha."

A cold wind blew in from the gaps in the high ceiling. It sent everyone shivering. But it wasn't just the wind. It was the thought of death, the threat in Nathalia's laugh.
"Hey, hey, be calm. Listen, it's better to live than die surely. Think about your husband, Spencer Davidson, think about everything you have. You are young and beautiful. It would be a great pity to die so young." The stout man went on persuading.
He had to admit that he had never encountered anyone like Nathalia. She looked pretty and delicate, but she was so bold and daring. She wasn't even scared of death. She was there to face all these men on her own, yet she showed not a bit of fear.
She's not a woman. She's non-human! Where the hell does she come from?
Nathalia tilted her head to one side like an innocent child, as if she was pondering, yet the smile on her face showed determination and cruelty. "Indeed, it would be a pity to die so young, but I can't stand people who force me to do what I don't like. I would rather kill myself than to be assaulted. You guys should feel lucky that you have me as a company on your way to death."
What the heck! Crazy woman. The men thought, but no one dared say anything reckless, worried that it would irritate her.
Alright, so she isn't normal. I have to think of a way to deal with her. The stout man thought to himself, trying to calm himself down to find a solution.
There was something about Nathalia that intimidated them, something that she seemed to be born with. And this power that she had didn't seem to present itself usually, but when it was necessary, it came out like a sudden eruption.
An idea occurred to the stout man, and his eyes lit up. "Mrs. Nathalia Davidson, we didn't really mean to harm you. Why don't you put that lighter away? It's too dangerous for yourself and for us!"
What I will do is to keep talking to her, to prolong it till she gets exhausted, then we will get her. He thought naively.
Nathalia glanced around at everyone and noticed that all were shaking and their faces were pale. "Don't you talk to me like I'm a three-year-old kid? You are too naïve. Have you not even done any research about me before you accepted your 'grand mission', huh? Do you know how I dealt with Frank Carter, my own father? You are just a bunch of useless bums!" she paused for a bit, now looking at the stout man with a disdainful sneer. "I know exactly what you are thinking. Don't waste my time."
The stout man's eyes grew wide open, shocked to be caught. "No, I'm not, err..." He had underestimated her simply because she was a woman. I should have searched her when she came in! He thought remorsefully. But she's so clever. She's probably thought it all over already.

Lost Things
"In this disordered continent, where everyone seeks to be the heroes of their own tales, there are still some rooms for smaller stories to breathe." "Past, present, and future—keep your eyes open, and see where they lead you to." This story follows three housemates’ lives: Carson Calding, Virgil Barion, and John Salore—onto their adventures of finding Carson’s past, Virgil’s present, and John’s future. Despite their clashing backgrounds and circumstances that forced them together, they’re definitely going to find the things they had lost, for sure. Each entire chapter will be updated biweekly. There'll be three smaller parts per each chapter. Note that this story was written to be an interactive one, with polls at the end of each parts deciding on what happens next. Though, the polls for this story won't be available on Royal Road updates. (I also upload this in Arcane Odyssey forum, and it's currently the only place where I open the polls and use the poll results from.)
