The Rise Of Nathalia Carter Chapter 296

Used to having the company of Nathalia, Mrs. Davidson found it difficult to adjust to the absence of her. She thought it over and decided to check on Nathalia.
She knocked at the door and rang the bell, but no one answered. She's probably gone to university. She thought.
Not knowing what to do, she kept the door open and sat waiting for Nathalia to come home.
On hearing the sound of the lift, she quickly rushed to the door. In a white T-shirt and jeans, Nathalia walked out of the lift, with her head down, and went straight to her apartment.
"Nathalia, Nathalia, here. This is your home." Mrs. Davidson said hurriedly.
"Mum." Nathalia looked up. She looked tired and low.
Poor girl. I bet she hasn't been sleeping well. Mrs. Davidson thought worriedly. "Come, come. I've baked some cookies, and I will make you a cup of tea."
Nathalia stood there, hesitating, so Mrs. Davidson went and grabbed her hand and led her in.
Nathalia had hardly touched the biscuits. She sipped the tea slowly. Mrs. Davidson patted her head gently and said affectionately, "Nathalia, how are you, my sweetie? You look tired. Get some sleep later, and when Spencer comes back, we will have dinner together."
"I..." Nathalia hesitated. Mrs. Davidson understood it must be awkward and difficult for Nathalia to accept and digest what had happened. She said lovingly, "Nathalia, I know it's not easy for you, but surely you know that Spencer loves you."
Nathalia bit her lips slightly and said, "We are fine." He hasn't even sent me a message or called me. What does that mean? Huh. She thought, sulking.
Mrs. Davidson had pretty much guessed how Nathalia felt. Nathalia's a proud one, and Spencer's being passive. The two have always been so close, and with what happened, it's understandable that they both feel awkward.

"I'm not blind. I can see, and I feel. You two aren't fine. Sweetie, listen to me. It's not Spencer's fault. If someone's to blame, it's me. I didn't take care of Spencer, and I left him to my evil sister." She heaved a sigh, blaming herself.
I only knew to live for love, for a pathetic relationship, when Spencer was little, and I was totally oblivious to his need. When he needed me, his mother, I wasn't even able to look after myself. I had lost myself in love.
Curt has never been a good father either. Luckily Spencer has met Nathalia, who understands him and loves him one hundred percent.
Nathalia felt a heavyweight in her heart. "Mum, please give us some time. Things will be fine again."
"How much time do you need? I'm so worried." Mrs. Davidson frowned.
Nathalia pouted her lips, found an excuse, and sneaked away. "Why don't you talk to Jake? I'm going back to my place to get stuff. Bye, mum. Thanks for the tea and cookies."
Though Mrs. Davidson called after her, Nathalia ignored her and hurried into her apartment.
Nathalia didn't join Mrs. Davidson for dinner. She needed some time on her own, her heart feeling like a mess.
Mrs. Davidson had been on the phone with Jake, complaining. Jake was very patient and tried to comfort her as best as he could.
She then heard the door open and quickly turned around to see the tired face of Spencer. "It's quite late. Have you eaten? Shall I heat up dinner for you?"
Spencer shook his head. "I have. No worries. I will go and get some sleep. Good night, mum." He headed to his room.
Mrs. Davidson hesitated and said, "Nathalia...err..." How long is it going to last? It's so sad to see these two like this.

On hearing the name of Nathalia, Spencer paused. Yet, without turning around, he said quietly, "Mum, please leave her be. Give her some time."
Watching Spencer walk into his room, Mrs. Davidson felt a sudden heartache, and tears filled her eyes.
"Sue? Sue?" Jake asked on the phone, and she then realized that she hadn't hung up.
"I just don't know what to do? Spencer and Nathalia aren't even talking to each other..." She sobbed quietly.
Jake comforted gently, "It's alright. It's alright. What you should do is stop worrying. I'm sure they will be fine again very soon."
"If I could have been tougher, my evil sister wouldn't have the chance to treat my son like this. It's my fault. I know..." Mrs. Davidson said remorsefully, regretting not having taken care of her son, not having been a good mother.
"Silly Sue, it's not your fault at all. Don't ever think like that."
"Do you think they will, they will divorce?" Mrs. Davidson asked worriedly.
"Err..." Jake had no idea. He was only trying to calm her down.
"Oh. Jake, you have to help me. What should I do? How do I get them back together?" The more Mrs. Davidson thought about it, the more worried she grew.
Standing at the balcony, looking up at the quiet night sky, Spencer could think about nothing else but Nathalia. He had a peek of the balcony of Nathalia's apartment and wondered what she was doing. Is she still mad at me? I miss her! I miss her so much that it hurts.
Mrs. Davidson had noticed that Spencer and Nathalia were intentionally avoiding seeing each other. She was worried that the longer it went on like this, the harder it would be to fix it.
"Spencer, here are two tickets for the Grand Italian Opera show. Why don't you ask Nathalia out? And treat her dinner at the French Café." Mrs. Davidson suggested.
They need some time together. I'm sure if they get together, they will talk, and all will be back to normal.
Spencer frowned and said, "Nathalia doesn't like opera." She found it too stiff and serious.
Instantly, Mrs. Davidson showed him two different tickets. "No problem. Here are two tickets to the latest movie." Luckily I've got both prepared, she thought to herself proudly.
Seeing how eager his mother was, Spencer couldn't help smiling. "Mum, I know you are trying to help, but please, please just give us some time...I need some time to think it over..."
Impatiently, Mrs. Davidson tapped Spencer on his head and complained, "What's there to think about? Huh? All you need to do is to apologize to her, talk to her sweetly, take her out for a meal...you used to be very good at it..."
