The Rise Of Nathalia Carter Chapter 258

A wall had erupted between them, and they walked in different ways. Perhaps one day, their ways would cross again, and when it happened, they would have to confront each other.
She stood by the one she loved, Spencer, while he had what he wanted. They fought for themselves and possibly against each other.
They would not be able to speak to each other like they used to. Even a word of comfort would be asking too much. It was upsetting, but as long as Nathalia thought of Spencer, nothing else mattered to her. Such is life. We lose something, and we gain something.
Despite how tempting the food looked, no one really enjoyed it, everyone in their own thoughts. Amy was especially furious still, trying hard to hide her anger so as not to irritate Curt.
However, Curt seemed to be unaffected. He took his time and ate his dinner slowly. When he finally put down the fork and knife, he asked casually, "Spencer, Nathalia, when do you plan to have the wedding ceremony?" It seemed like he had totally accepted their marriage.
Though Spencer was angry with him, as soon as the wedding was mentioned, he seemed to feel a bit more cheerful. "Around Christmas." He replied and looked at Nathalia with a smile.
Curt knitted his brows and said, "Why not have it sooner? Christmas is still a few months away, isn't it?" It was now September, and Christmas was four months away.
Spencer put down his fork and knife, wiped his mouth with the napkin gently, and said casually, "You don't need to worry about it. Mum will help take care of everything."
There was apparent anger on Curt's face as his brows knitted tighter, yet somehow, he didn't let it out, and instead, he passed Spencer a file and said, "Here."
It was a rather heavy file with a pile of documents and paper in. "What is it?" Spencer was a bit startled. He sounded a bit irritated.

Curt heard his anger, and again, he put up with it. "Let Nathalia have a look." He said.
On hearing so, Nathalia looked up curiously and took the file. Flipping through the paper, she saw contracts and photos of various properties. A house of over three hundred square meters in South Beach Area where houses were worth millions, a popular area for residents of internationally famous superstars; a castle at the foot of the Alps in Switzerland; a historical and renowned winery in France where they made wine that cost thousands of dollars for a bottle; a huge farm in Texas; a street with over five hundred businesses and shops in the center of Miami; an office building with fifty floors in the busiest area in Miami.
"What's this for?" Nathalia looked puzzled.
"Wedding gifts," Curt said causally.
Nathalia was delighted, "For us?!" It should be worth a couple of billion.
However, Spencer didn't seem happy about it. Is this how he's trying to make it up? Huh. "I don't want it." Spencer snapped.
Out of curiosity, Amy leaned over and had a glance at the file. Jealousy filled her heart. "Ah, Mr. Davidson, if Spencer doesn't want it, why force him to accept?" She couldn't help interfering while thinking, that can last me the rest of my life! I hope I get the same presents when I marry Matt.
Curt ignored Amy, and he said to Spencer calmly, "It's not for you. It's for my daughter-in-law, Mrs. Nathalia Davidson."
Nathalia was even more surprised and puzzled. She quickly flipped through the paper again and saw that all the properties were indeed under her name.
Nathalia's hand was trembling slightly, shocked by the offer. She looked up and stared at Curt, unsure what to think and what to say. He's a terrible husband and an awful father, but why? Why is he so tolerant of me? He's nice to me.

Curt seemed to feel a bit uncomfortable being stared at. He coughed a quiet cough and said, "Wedding presents for you."
Others were as shocked and confused as Nathalia, if not more. Spencer felt rather pleased that the presents were for Nathalia. If they were given to him, he would very likely reject them, but now that they were for Nathalia, he somehow felt respected.
Matt observed quietly.
Amy jumped in jealousy, "But, what if they divorce? Then Nathalia will get all the properties. That's not very sensible."
Spencer was instantly enraged. He snapped, "You'd better shut up. We will never divorce." glaring at Amy.
Amy was so frightened that she quickly looked away and leaned next to Matt. That must be worth a few billion dollars. How much money has the Davidsons got?! He just gave it away like that?!
Curt said casually, "That's good to know. Take it then and pass it on to your children and grandchildren in the future."
"Thank you," Nathalia replied with a grin. Why not? She thought. It's better than if someone else takes it.
"My pleasure. I'm your father-in-law now. We are a family." Curt said, rather seriously.
It got Nathalia to stare at him again, too taken aback to know what to say. After a little while, she said bashfully, "Yes, we are." then turned to look at Spencer with rosy cheeks. Seeing her lovely face, Spencer had forgotten all the anger and smiled happily as he gave her a little squeeze.
Curt seemed to turn sentimental suddenly. He looked kind of upset and deep in thought. Matt noticed and asked worriedly, "Dad, you ok?"
"Yep. I'm good." Curt waved his hand and said clearly. He resumed his usual indifferent look. "Spencer, Nathalia, where do you intend to settle in after the wedding?"
Spencer was now in a good mood, and he answered calmly, "We are planning to buy a big house and move in together with mum. It looks like we don't need to know."
They quite like the South Beach Area, exciting and lively, with lots of stylish dinners, art galleries, and beautiful beaches. The house Curt bought them was perfect for the three of them.
Curt picked up the fork and put it down again. "That's good. You three should live together so that you can look after each other." He sounded a bit melancholy, surprisingly.
An idea just came to Nathalia's head, and having no idea where the courage came from, she asked, "Why don't you move in with us?" She had been hoping to get Spencer's parents back together, for Spencer and for his mother.
Everyone turned to look at Nathalia, shocked by her question.
Spencer couldn't help squeezing Nathalia's hand. "Babe." He whispered. He couldn't recall living with his parents. It upset him.
Curt gazed at Nathalia for a bit. There was affection, even gratitude, in his look. "I prefer living a carefree life."
Nathalia pouted her lips and murmured, "A carefree life? I say it's an irresponsible life." There were rumors that Curt had a new girlfriend, young and pretty.

An Unwavering Craftsman
Given the hereditary nature of classes, everyone expects Damien—the child of two high-tiered adventurers—to be granted a high-tier combat class of his own. Expectations are betrayed, however, when Damien finds himself instead saddled with a crafting class of the lowest possible tier: [Neophyte Tailor]. Left practically crippled compared to those with better classes, Damien wants to avoid becoming a pawn in the machinations of the nobility, desiring only to grind his level in peace while wondering why the usual rules of inheritance were broken. Was it his desire to excel by his own effort, rather than an unearned blessing from a god? Did the Five take offence at his opinions on the unfairness of hereditary classes? Or maybe it was something to do with the alien voice that intruded on his ceremony? A voice that offers great power, and freedom from the tyranny of the Five, but that never names its price. This story is litRPG-lite. While the class someone possesses controls most of their lives, people don't get dinged at for every level they gain, nor can they see their status without undergoing a special ritual. The MC has no romantic interest. Crafting is merely a way to game the system, and doesn't feature heavily in the story, aside from a few descriptions on how they're carrying out the system abuse. There is, on one unfortunate occasion, maths. The pace is quick. This was a participant in the Spring 2022 writathon. (i.e. it was posted as-written at high speed. I may give it another editing pass in the future.)

God Slaying System
Issac was known to be one of the strongest players of Blue Sky City. During the initial stages of the start of The Heavenly Domain, he had already gained a lot of power and was going to become even stronger then the guild leader. But, he was betrayed by the guild leader as he feared he would be more powerful then himself and was killed until he got back to level 0. Heck, they even stripped him of his 'Sword of Heroes' that he got from completing the Diamond Ranked quest and took it away. After all that, he was banished from the guild left with nothing. Now, he could not even compete for being strong as he was. That was the time he found the God Slayer Temple. After this encounter, he was no longer the same as before. The main point is that I got the inspiration to write this novel by reading the novel “Reincarnation of The Strongest Sword God”. So, you may find some minor similarities but, well the story is completely different and the ideas are mine. So, enjoy reading my novel. This novel is also available on Webnovel under the same name. The updates on the novel are a bit faster there.
