The Rise Of Nathalia Carter Chapter 211

Some had tried enquiring but only got a response of a silent smile, which had raised their curiosity even more.
Ever since the engagement party, or the tragedy of it, Spencer and Nathalia had not been seen being intimate together in public.
It looks obvious that they are back together. What's the story here?
Spencer smiled and held up both his and Nathalia's hands, showing the rings on their ring fingers.
The crowd gasped in disbelief. "Are you two engaged?"
"Are you really getting married?"
It was rare that Spencer would respond to the media, and it was even rarer that he did it loudly. "Yes. We are going to get married soon. We will announce the date once decided."
He wanted the whole world to know that Nathalia was his, that they were meant to be together, and no one could ever take her away from him.
It obviously broke the hearts of many of the female reporters. The man they adored was going to get married.
"My god. This is it. This is the news of the year!" Someone exclaimed excitedly.
Nathalia had remained silent and kept a content smile on her face. She looked at Spencer and the crowd calmly.
"We noticed you'd changed your car plate, Mr. Davidson." A reporter commented.
"Indeed. You are very observant." Spencer smiled. "It's from Nathalia. It's her birthday today."
The crowd then understood. L is for Nathalia, D for Davidson, and 815 is her birthday. Wow. Spencer Davidson is so romantic.
Nathalia looked at Spencer affectionately, and Spencer replied with a kiss on her forehead. Some female journalist was so jealous that she asked bitterly, "Miss Nathalia Carter, last time the engagement party turned out to be a disaster. Aren't you worried that the same thing would happen again?"
Nathalia was rather taken aback by such bluntness and rudeness.

Spencer was furious, "Get her number and call her boss." He turned to the bodyguard next to him and glared at the journalist. How dare you?! Let's see if you will ever get a job again.
The journalist's face turned pale instantly, having realized what kind of trouble she had got herself into. "I'm really sorry, Mr. Spencer Davidson and Miss Nathalia Carter. Apologies. I didn't mean to..."
Another journalist, from the same press company, tried to help and pleaded, "Please forgive my colleague. She didn't mean any harm." It won't do our company any good, which means I might suffer too. She thought.
Nathalia was about to say something when someone said clearly and sternly, "As a journalist, you should be objective and responsible for what you ask, comment, or write. You are not a qualified journalist, asking such an insulting question."
It was Wendy Allen. She came walking towards Nathalia and Spencer gracefully. The crowd anticipated excitedly. Spencer Davidson's ex was encountering him with his fiancée. Ha. Let's see what's going to happen. It would be great if the two girls start a fight. It will definitely sell.
The two journalists were puzzled. "Huh? Miss Wendy Allen, what brought you here? Please don't interfere." Why is she criticizing us and helping Nathalia Cater? She was supposed to take the opportunity and insult Nathalia Carter instead.
Wendy stood next to Nathalia, glared at the two journalists, and sneered, "I just hate to see injustice."
She looked Nathalia up and down for a little while; a smile of approval appeared on her face. "I like it. This dress fits you perfectly. You look very nice today, Nathalia." Her tone was casual as if she was talking to an old friend.
Nathalia took a look at Wendy and noticed her usual seductive attire, a tight red dress with a low V-neck, showing her curves perfectly. Subconsciously she squeezed Spencer's hand and replied to Wendy with a bright smile, "Thank you. So do you. Stunning."

Her tone was genuine, her smile sincere, just like an old friend. There wasn't a hint of grudge between the two girls.
Spencer greeted Wendy plainly, "Alright, Wendy." And that was it. He didn't care what Wendy was wearing at all, showing not a slight bit of interest. Nathalia couldn't help smiling in relief. I'm worrying too much. I'm his only one.
The crowd was disappointed that there was no fight, no argument, no drama at all. What the hell? This doesn't seem right. They are acting like friends.
A very well-dressed female journalist couldn't help provoking, "I guess it's only because Miss Nathalia Carter and Wendy Allen are both interested in fashion that you two can kind of get along. Miss Wendy Allen dated Mr. Spencer..."
What she was implying was obvious. Spencer was the first one to react. "What do you mean? What are you implying?" He snapped and looked at the journalist icily with a sneer. Nathalia didn't like my past. How dare this little nobody try to dig my past?
Everyone could sense the sudden tension in the air. No one dared to ask any more questions. The journalist trembled with fear. She explained nervously, "I mean, I mean, both Miss Nathalia Carter and Wendy Allen have very good taste in fashion; they are both excellent and beautiful; no wonder they are friends." It was understandable that she doubted the genuineness of the relationship between Nathalia and Wendy, just like all the media and the public did.
Just then, someone called out in a surprising tone, "Finally, my dear sister!"
The familiar sound traveled through Nathalia's ears down to her heart. She froze for a second before she slowly turned around to see Evette in a bright red thigh-split maxi dress, extremely eye-catching. The red of the dress matched the color of her lips. She looked captivating like usual, yet her eyes said there was something wrong.
Nathalia looked at the man next to Evette, her arm in his. It was Ben. Nathalia knitted her brows, and sudden fear, though slight, grabbed her heart as she thought, is it unavoidable? Can fate not be changed?
However, Nathalia concealed it very well and, instead, a mocking sneer appeared on her face. "Evette Carter, you've finally come out from your hiding cave."
Frank Carter had gone missing; Anne and Evette Carter had been very quiet. It was abnormal.
She's shown up, and I will just be more careful. It will be fine. Nathalia told herself.
Spencer frowned as he was surprised that he had not been told about Evette's Carter's arrival in advance. How did she get away from being watched? The customs would have known, and they would have told me. How did she come back to the States? Spencer wondered. I shall stay more alert tonight and keep Nathalia next to me. He decided.
Ben had taken extra effort to dress up for the night. It was an important occasion for him as this was the first time he made his appearance to the public after the prison incident.
However, he seemed rather stiff and awkward as Nathalia watched him as if he knew Nathalia could see through him.
Evette glared at Nathalia hatefully, "I didn't hide, and I don't need to hide because I didn't do anything wrong. If anyone was hidden, it would be those who harbor malicious thoughts and hurt their siblings and parents." She snapped.
