The Rise Of Nathalia Carter Chapter 159

Anna's jaws dropped. She glared at Nathalia with intense hate and anger. How dare she sit next to Spencer?! Has she forgotten her promise and swear?
"Well..." Sophie felt the pressure on her and sat down nervously next to Anna. Her hands were sweating from stress.
Spencer didn't even take a look at anyone but sipped his wine quietly. His mind was traveling somewhere else.
Anna watched him closely, wondering what the next move should be. She regretted asking Nathalia to join them. "Spencer, they are so slow here. We've sat here for ten minutes, and no one is taking our order yet. Shall we go to another place?"
"Nah. It's fine here." Spencer replied coldly, just like his usual self.
Why did we come here? There are so many good restaurants around. Why the hell did we pick this one? Anna grew worried.
Each in their own thoughts, the atmosphere became awkward. However, Nathalia was again oblivious to it. She waved to the waiter. "Can we order, please?"
Nathalia ordered her usual favorite dishes and informed the waiter of her specific requests.
"Huh?" The waiter looked at Spencer, then Nathalia, and said, "It's you two."
"Pardon?" Nathalia replied in surprise.
"I remember you two, a beautiful couple. You ordered the same dishes and had the same requests last time. I remember." The waiter said with a friendly smile.
Anna and Sophie were taken aback and wondered, are the regulars here? Did they order the same thing as last time? What does that mean?
Anna suddenly understood why Spencer suggested coming to this café. Is it because he still loves her? She thought angrily.
Nathalia took the chance and took a good look at Spencer. The familiar face. Her heart ached. He's lost weight, and he looks tired. He must be. Going to work every day and visiting his mum after work.

However, she would not show her worries, instead, she turned to the waiter with a bright smile, "Ah, I see. Yeah, these are my favorite dishes. Oh, have I ordered dessert for later yet?"
He doesn't like sweet stuff much, and I used to eat all of it. She recalled.
Spencer gazed at the glass of wine and said casually, "No, you haven't. One blueberry pie, please."
Nathalia's smile grew brighter, and she added, "Actually, two blueberry pies. Sophie loves it, too."
Anna watched and listened to a sulking face. Sophie looked at the silent Spencer and the cheerful-looking Nathalia and thought she'd better not get involved.
"By the way, we have vanilla ice-cream today. Would you like one?" The waiter suggested.
"For sure." Nathalia's face shone with excitement. It's my favorite!
"No. Not today." Spencer said simultaneously.
"Why?" Nathalia looked at Spencer and pouted her lips, like a little kid. "I love vanilla ice-cream."
Spencer glanced at Nathalia and said, "You will be on your period tomorrow. Remember every time you had ice-cream before your period, and you had a stomach ache?"
Both Sophie and Anna covered their mouths with their hands as they gasped in surprise while Nathalia stared at Spencer with her eyes wide open, and her cheeks turned rosy red as she blushed in embarrassment. How did he know? And he said it so naturally.
The couple continued their conversation as if there was no one around, just like in the old days when they could say anything to each other anywhere. Familiar and intimate.
It frightened Anna to see how the situation was going out of her control. Fear and jealousy filled her heart. "Spencer, mummy's still in a coma. I'm so worried about her. Let's go back to her soon." She said hurriedly, trying to divert Spencer's attention.

Why? They haven't seen each other for a while. He should hate her instead. Anna thought frustratingly.
Then she thought of something and said sternly, "By the way, Miss Nathalia Carter, I heard that the police were investigating the accident and interrogated you. Why didn't you get locked up?"
Nathalia lifted her eyebrows instantly in protest. "Locked up?! Why? Because I tried everything I could to save Mrs. Davidson? Because I sighed the paper so the doctors could do the surgery when no one else would take the responsibility?"
You little bitch. I didn't even ask you about it, and now you started it yourself. Alright. If you want to continue this game, let's play it well. Nathalia thought furiously.
Anna didn't expect Nathalia to react so and was taken aback, she stared at Nathalia for a few seconds before she found her tongue again, "Nathalia Carter, you've made a huge mistake, and you are trying to deny it. Don't you know there's something called karma?"
She swore she would keep her promise or she would go to hell. Anna remembered.
Nathalia laughed out loud. "Karma? Ha. Tell me about it. I'm not afraid. Everyone has to die. Those selfish and evil people are living a great life. I've done nothing wrong. I've hurt nobody. What am I to be afraid of? What do you think, Miss Anna Jones?" She said with pride and disdain.
I had to swear only because it was needed at that time. Those that have killed and hurt are enjoying their life. Frank Carter and his mistress are a great example. What's fate? What's karma? I believe in myself.
If karma doesn't punish them, then I will do it myself. I will get back what they have taken from me. They will taste the pain double more than the pain they gave me.
It's my life. I have a say. If you think you can trap me with the swear I made, you don't know me at all.
And I'm not scared of dying. You made me swear, then I shall take what you want the most to compensate.
"Nathalia Carter!" Anna's heart was beating fast, frightened. How did it turn this way? She's crazy. "You are mental. Spencer, we have to sue her. What she's done to mummy is unforgivable."
Spencer's eyes fell on Nathalia. They seemed loving, uncertain, confused, and helpless.
Nathalia sat back into the chair, her arms crossed, relaxed, and calm. "Do you have proof? Or I will sue you for false accusation."
Sweats dripped down Anna's forehead as she panicked. She had never encountered someone as unpredictable as Nathalia.
"Yes. I have proof. We all saw it, the bodyguards, the nurse. Spencer, are you going to just let her be after what she's done to mummy?"
