The Rise Of Nathalia Carter Chapter 137

Frank was the president and a leader; after all, his words convincing, his tone confident, his face determined.
Some seem persuaded. A few billion? That sounds wonderful!
Though it might bring huge profits, the risk was also big. It did not guarantee success. If they lost, or even if the company went bankrupt, Frank had billions himself, and he needed not to worry about his life, but to the other shareholders, it would be deadly. It would turn them broken.
"I also disagree. The risk is too big. Why don't we choose another industry? Why do we take such a huge risk?"
"I think we should be more careful."
Frank was shocked by the disagreement. This was something that had not happened before. When he used to make a proposal, it would usually just take a few seconds, and everyone would agree. Why do so many of them disagree this time? Could it be... He glared at Nathalia. It's her!
"Please trust me. This is a good plan, a great investment. To get into the European market is the way." Frank persuaded.
He had lost his reputation and trust from the shareholders. His words didn't sound as convincing anymore. The shareholders probably doubted him for what he did and him as a person. They did not trust him as easily as they used to. Whatever he promised and however hard he tried to persuade, the majority still disagreed.
"If we lose, we will lose everything. I have a family to feed."
"I can't see it as a positive investment."
Just in general, they couldn't trust their president anymore, and they wondered where he would take them, where he would take the company. He had billions of savings, so he was not too worried to lose, but it was different from other shareholders.
"I can't see it either." Another voice disagreed.
Richard had been watching Nathalia, who had remained silent so far. "Miss Nathalia Carter, what's your opinion on this?"

She's someone that has a say, especially with Spencer Davidson on her back and the Davidson Group has a huge influence on the European market.
Frank grew alert and a bit anxious. He wanted to say something to divert the conversation as he knew that Nathalia would definitely go against him, but no words came to him.
"Me?" Nathalia paused for a bit, though it through and said calmly, "I don't know the market well, so I don't have much input in this."
It wasn't an answer that anyone was expecting. The shareholders looked at each other and were not sure what to think of it.
Frank let out a silent sigh of relief, but coldly, he said, "Why are you here then?"
Nathalia smiled and said confidently, "Not having an input is my input."
Sensing that another argument between the father and daughter was arising again, Richard interrupted impatiently.
Frank took a deep breath and demanded, "Silent. Let's vote."
The shareholders frowned at the demand. They were reluctant to do so, but it was the custom, and they couldn't reject it.
Soon the result was out, and a victorious smile appeared on Frank's face. "So 34% agreed, and 20% disagree, which means the majority approve. I will..." He knew that would be the result, as he had 33% of the shares, and Maria had 1%, which took up the majority.
The rest of the shareholders weren't happy about it, but they didn't have a choice. However, just then, Nathalia cut in, "I disagree." The shareholders were surprised and delighted. Perfect timing. Good decision. She's got it.
Frank was trembling with anger. You little devil. What an annoying trouble maker!
"But you have just said to you..."
Nathalia glanced at him and interrupted, "I've changed my mind. The risk is too big. We'd better be a bit more careful."

As a matter of fact, the end was destined. In the previous life, Frank Carter lost a few billion in this investment, and to make up the loss, he came up with the idea of taking Nathalia's money, and that was how the murdering plan started.
In this life, you are going to pay for the loss yourself. And you will never recover again.
In the end, 35% disapproved, and the proposal was rejected. No matter how angry Frank was, he couldn't change the result.
"You are doing this on purpose, Nathalia. You just want to go against me. This is something serious, and you can't take it personally."
Nathalia smiled at his comment and said calmly, "Mr. Frank Carter, business is business. I am serious about money."
"Huh. I won't give up on this plan. I will collect the money for the investment, and when we make profits, I won't need to share with you the shareholders." Frank said angrily.
Finally, you've said it. Nathalia thought. Now it's time to finish this matter.
Though she was feeling excited inside, she looked calm and indifferent. "Also, if you lose, you will take full responsibility yourself. You pay for the loss."
The calmer Nathalia looked, the angrier Frank grew, and more determined he became, "Let's wait and see. You will regret it."
Frank slapped the table and walked out of the room. Maria hurried after him.
Richard frowned and worried, seeing Frank leave. "Miss Nathalia Carter, are you sure that's a good idea? I mean, if we do make money, we won't get a cent, and we WILL regret it."
You want money, but you don't want to take the risk. Nathalia saw through him straightaway. She shook her head slightly and said, "Sometimes it's good to take risks as opportunities come along, but when the risk is too big, instead of opportunities, we will get punishment. We are not at a state where we have to take such a risk, then why do we do it? There are many other ways to gain profit."
Richard listened and gave it a think. "True. True."
Ann had just got back home from the hair salon to see Frank wearing a furious look. "What's the matter, honey?" She asked worriedly.
Frank slapped his hand on the table and yelled, "That piece of shit! She's always going against me." He yelled, shouted, and exclaimed the story out. Ann listened patiently and finally got the idea.
Thoughtfully, she made a cup of tea for Frank, gave him a cuddle and kiss. "It's alright, honey. It's not such a bad thing, after all. When we make money, they will all regret it. Also, that little devil will be blamed, and the shareholders won't trust her again." Ann comforted.
Frank seemed to calm down a bit, "You are right, but the thing is I don't have that much money to invest." A few billion wasn't a small amount of money, after all.
Ann encouraged me without a second thought. "We have a house and the shares. When we make money back, we can have everything back and triple times more." She had great confidence in Frank and a beautiful dream of being three times richer.
"Well..." Frank was half persuaded and half hesitant. "I will think about it."
Ann pecked a gentle kiss on Frank's cheeks and said softly, "Honey, I believe in you. You are the smartest man I've ever met. No one is better than you." Her honey-coated words took the worries and senses of Frank. He was flying in her compliments.

Hazelsong: A LitRPG Novel
Release Schedule: I will be moving to a set release schedule as of 1/1/2022. A new chapter will be released every Saturday at Noon EST. If I have time that week for a second chapter, I will leave a note on the Saturday chapter and post the second chapter on Sunday at Noon EST. An up to date character sheet for the MC Erik will also be posted on Sundays at 12:15 PM. If life happens and I am for some reason unable to write that week, I will post a blank chapter giving you an update on where I am with my writing. Saturday Noon EST: First weekly chapter Sunday Noon EST: Second weekly chapter (if I have the time) Sunday 12:15 EST: Updated character sheet Synopsis: Years after surviving a deadly accident, Erik struggles to come to terms with his painful disability. When offered the chance to playtest the world's first full immersion VRMMO, he wants nothing more than to retreat back into his secluded life, until he learns what Hazelsong really offers. An escape from the pain. Hazelsong is a world of magic and adventure, a place where friendships are formed, loot is won, and glory and fame are there for the taking. While the threats feel real and the stakes are always high, there is only one thing Erik is really in danger of. Forgetting which world is actually real. Story Themes: Hazelsong is a LitRPG novel that not only explores the fictional world of a realistic online fantasy realm but the life of a man suffering in silence from chronic pain and PTSD due to a significant physical injury and disability. Mental health is an important subject and we all know at least one person in our lives who has or is dealing with some form of mental illness. I plan on putting my best effort forward to represent these illnesses in a fair and accurate manner. Not as a cheap plot device to help make the protagonist more unique, but to help paint an accurate picture for those of us who have been lucky enough to not have to suffer in silence. About the Author: I am Ash Durra, general video game nerd and a connoisseur of fantasy and sci-fi of all shapes and sizes. Needless to say, I am not a professional author (B.S. and M.S. in Education, 8 years teaching). After really getting into LitRPG novels over the past several years, I found my way to Royal Road, which has inspired me to use my spare time to begin writing a story of my own creation. As this is a hobby, I am not writing and posting chapters on any kind of specific schedule at the moment, though my goal is to post on average 1-2 chapters a week. I am incredibly excited to share this story with others as I write it, and I look forward to any constructive feedback about how I can improve in my writing.
