The Rise Of Nathalia Carter Chapter 120

Spencer grabbed a glass of cold water, poured it on his head, smashed the glass to the wall, washed his face with the dripping water. His eyes turned cold.
He went out without a word.
The guys ran after him but lost him. When they got to the car park, the familiar Porsche shot out of the gate like a bullet. Everyone's heart tightened like a string.
Steve glared at Matt and questioned, "Is it true? If anything happens to Spencer, you are responsible."
They had known each other since they were little, but somehow they never got along well. Steve never had a good feeling about Matt, ever since he was a kid.
Matt looked cold and serious. "What's important is to find Nathalia now," he said icily. He cared not about who was responsible, about revenge, about anything, but the safety of Nathalia. All he wanted was to see Nathalia safe and sound.
He could not rest until he was sure that Nathalia was safe.
It was obvious to everyone that he was behaving differently. Tom gave up, holding back his curiosity and asked, "Why do you care so much about the girl? It's none of your business, isn't it?" His tone wasn't friendly. He never liked Matt either. Matt walked a different path from them.
Matt closed his eyes and said gently, "I love Nathalia." He had been having complicated feelings towards Nathalia, trying to avoid her when possible, but whenever something happened to her, he couldn't help inviting himself to her to help her.
He tried not to analyze how he felt about her or to look into his heart, but just let it flow. Both of their identities were too complicated to make it work. Be it, friends or lovers, it just wouldn't work.

Sensible and calm were the tags he wore. He was not a trouble seeker. However, as soon as he heard that she was missing, a strong sense of fear flooded him. It was so apparent. It was too apparent to ignore.
Yes. He had fallen in love. Why did he have to hide it? Why did he have to lie? Yet, he had not expected that the first time he expressed his true feelings was in front of the guys.
His tone was soft, but what he said shocked everyone.
Steve couldn't believe it. "What?! What games are you playing now?"
Matt put his hand on his chest, felt his heart racing. There was a mix of bitterness and sweetness. He smiled and said, "I love her."
This could be the only time he would express his love.
Seeing the bitter smile, the helplessness on his face, the guys somehow felt an inexplicable sense of heaviness. He was genuine, and they knew. They saw it on his face. They felt it.
Tom put his palm on his forehead as if he was suffering from a terrible headache. What the hell?! Are there no other girls to fall in love with? Why do these two brothers fall in love with the same girl? "Are you crazy? She's Spencer's woman, and Spencer is your..."
Perhaps it was destiny. It was Karma. The tangles and struggles from the last generation had continued to this generation.
Suddenly Matt laughed out loud and said, "I love her. It doesn't matter whose woman she is. I just love her."
Matt had rarely shown his emotions to people. How people perceived him was normally a tough and strong Matt. However, at this moment, he was tired, tired of hiding. He wanted to live a real-life, to be true to his feelings.

After a few days of gloominess, the Carters were finally sitting at home, enjoying their family time. Zack was lying on the couch like the king of the house while his mother was feeding him a bowl of muesli.
"Dad, a new sports car, has just come out. I want it." Zack said to his father casually.
Frank had never rejected his son's requests. Even if he wanted the stars, he would find a way to get them for him.
"No problem. Zack, whatever you want."
Evette wouldn't miss the opportunity. "Dad, I want one too." She said with a sweet smile.
Frank was in a very good mood today, and he smiled back at his daughter, "Evette, you have done a very good job this time. Of course, you deserve one."
"Thank you, dad. I love you." Evette smiled brightly, thinking what a great feeling, getting rid of that asshole, and I'm rewarded with a new car! This is brilliant!
Ann couldn't help smiling either, feeling relieved and victorious. Huh! You little devil. Do you think you can ever beat me?! You will just end up like your dead mother!
Just then, there was some commotion outside the house. Ann frowned, annoyed. "What's happening outside?"
A housemaid hurried in, her face pale, "Mr. Spencer Davidson is here." She said in a nervous voice.
The Carter froze for a second. What is he doing here? Has he found out? So quick?! But how does he know it's us?
Frank, Ann, and Zack all stared at Evette instantly. She looked as confused and surprised as others. I have been very careful. It's impossible that he knows.
Frank quickly waved his arm at the housemaid and said, "Hmm. Tell him I'm not in..." He had hardly finished his words when "bang," the house echoed and trembled. Frank's face went pale. What was that?!
Another housemaid ran in, almost crying, "Mr. Spencer Davidson is crushing his car to the gate. It's terrifying..." He's insane.
Frank panicked. Sweats dripped down his forehead. He hurried to the gate, thinking fuck! If anything happens to him outside our house, we will be dead.
The gate opened. Under the dim light, one could see the front of the Porsche smashed as if it had just been through a terrible accident. It left a hole at the gate. What frightened Frank more was that Spencer stepped out of the car and cast the iciest look at him, right into his eyes.
"Frank Carter!" Spencer roared.
More sweat dripping down his face, Frank shivered in terror. However, he believed that this time he was not involved, and he forced a smile on his face, "Spencer, what brought you here? Come on in."
With a mobile phone in his hand, Spencer demanded, "Where's Nathalia?!" His face looked pale, but his eyes sparkled like flames, challenging, murderous.
Frank knew very well why Spencer showed up. He put on a confused look and said, "Why? What happened to Nathalia? You know she's not very close to me. I haven't seen her for a while..."
"Wait? Did something bad happen to Nathalia?" He pretended that he had a sudden realization and went on with his show. "Well, it's not really my business. But I would never ever hurt my own child, you know..."

Path of Righteousness
What do you desire? What are you afraid of? You run away from one, pursuing the other. Is that all you are? Conquer your fears. Dig to the bottom and confirm, what you really want... ...For you cannot escape suffering and death. You only have a little time. Use it wisely. Uru, a young boy with no talent for magic or fighting, sets out on a quest to become an avatar of order, the physical embodiment of righteousness, in a distant future, where control of origin energy allows people to defy physics and manipulate causality. Mocked by fate and broken by impossible dreams, all that's left is to stand in defiance to cruel existence. Because there is a Truth out there, somewhere. Singular, transcendent, eternal. What would you sacrifice for it? *** This is a fantastic sci-fi epic. It's going to blend both western and eastern traditional fantasy tropes – like might & magic and cultivation – with rational sci-fi grounded fully in reality, to produce a purely fictional fairy tale. I'd like to deliver something light-hearted and yet wholly serious. An uplifting adventure exploring the unfathomable reaches of humanity, free of indecency, with a healthy dose of humorous banter, legendary beings, and most importantly – lots of exciting, firework-filled mayhem! I've tried reading many web novels, but there's a fundamental problem with them – the eastern ones are annoyingly repetitive, superficial and morally destitute, while western ones are often dark, convoluted and profane. There's only so much one can do to filter out the bad and try to fill in the gaps with their own imagination. It's one thing to eat tasty fast food, but if it's moldy and filled with toxins, then it's not only poisonous, but also disgusting. The appreciation of beauty and higher values is disappearing at an alarming rate. Although there are throngs of talented people out there, none of them are creating what I want to witness – an inspiring battle against impossible odds, ending in absolute victory. A triumph of the spirit so overwhelming, it crushes the spectator into his seat and takes his breath away. I'm looking for a real paragon, so now I'd like to try conceiving one. *** The MC's name comes from Tolkien's Elven dictionary in Silmarillion, 'Uru' meaning 'Fire', and 'Dagnir an Uruloki' meaning 'Slayer of Dragons'. *** Note: I'm neither a native speaker, nor an aficionado of literature – I've never written anything before, and despite proficient English my literary prowess is abysmal. It therefore takes me a painful amount of effort to polish the chapters and bring them up to par. Last year I wrote and posted some on FictionPress, but I stopped since it wasn't going anywhere. The appalling amount of filth and mediocrity being peddled in all the media nowadays – a result of no conspiracy to manipulate the masses, but plain supply and demand – is no longer just the triumph of form over substance, but most worryingly corruption of the latter. Who wants to read about ideals anymore? And yet, masses flock together to gobble up perversion and depravity. That being said, I can't rule out pitiful exposure as the culprit to my failure, so I am now once again trying to increase it here, possibly for the last time. If there are still human beings present, hungry or in need of a detox after eating too much garbage, make yourselves heard, so I can see a reason to continue the story. Otherwise it's pointless – I'm not going to make fodder for the masses, and I'm most certainly not going to throw pearls before swine. I'll simply stop writing altogether.
