Harry Potter: Blood Of The Dragon Chapter 220

[A/N: In this world, the ages of the queen and subsequent royals have been pushed back a little.]
Magnus and Severus went to Nicolas to continue studying. But many other things were happening around at the same time.
Today, Adam was supposed to give an interview to the news channel. It wasn't supposed to be a big deal but now that he was also a royal family member and the eldest prince, the eyes on the show increased.
Magnus knew about this and had already fed money to the chief editor of BBC. If they still try to mess with his family then the end of BBC will be near.
Adam was nervous. He was an army guy, a Major General. He was used to speaking in front of soldiers but talking in front of cameras was totally different.
He arrived at the news station in his usual military uniform. He even had a few medals on his chest as he was supposed to come here wearing them to show everyone how talented their prince was.
He was treated very respectfully as if he was some VIP, which he probably is right now.
"Sir, please sit here, the makeup artists will do some light touch-ups." The producer told him.
"Makeup? Why would I need makeup?" He inquired. He was in no beauty pageant from what he was told.
"Oh, it's nothing much, sir. Just a light touch up so your face looks good according to the light in the studio. It's going to be recorded with colour cameras after all." The makeup artist told him.
Well, he couldn't deny if they gave such a reason. So he silently sat in front of the big mirror and watched as the artist put some kind of power on his face with her brush.
When he was done, he got up and looked at his military assistant, named Jason. He jokingly asked, "Do I look pretty?"
"Yes sit, like a pampered wife," Captain Jason replied jokingly. Not everyone had the privilege of being this frank with Adam.
"Hah, Grace would have loved to see me like this. Let's go. You will stay in the recording room and make sure they don't try to do anything funny." He ordered.
Adam went into the interview room that had been lightly decorated with a fake fireplace and 2 seats in front of it. It looked very modest and befitting to the situation.
The interview was not going to be broadcast live considering who was speaking here and they might need to cut out some details if the Queen's office requested.
Adam was taken to the seat on the right side by the studio producer. Normally this was the job of a coordinator but they were not qualified to speak to such a high ranking person, well that's what people usually think. But in reality, Adam was a chill person, he would share his sandwich with you if you want it.

The lights were being checked and the cameras were running tests and mics too. ~Hmm, last time when Magnus was here to give the interview, it was a much simpler set.~
Just when he felt bored, the anchor of the show or the interviewer came in a fine suit. He had black hair, black eyes and wore a dark blue professional suit. The man was a veteran when it came to taking such face to face interviews.
He shook Adam's hand and took a seat. After once again checking everything, he talked to Adam, "Shall we start, sir?"
After getting a nod from Adam, the camera rolled and started recording.
"Good evening, dear viewers. Today, we have a very special guest on our show, a very mysterious person who is also considered a national treasure. A man who has served the nation with his life, a man who has given his great mind to the nation, a man of honour and will. We welcome Duke of Cornwall, Prince of Wales, His Highness, Major General Adam Grant." the interviewer introduced Adam, letting the camera focus on his face.
"Thank you for inviting me here," Adam replied. But he didn't know the interviewer's name yet.
The man chuckled, "Sir, there is a reason why I have not told you my name. We both have actually met before, a few years back."
Adam focused on the man's face and tried to remember. Then, as if a bulb lit up in his head, he remembered something. "Oh, you interviewed my son back then, he asked you an algebra question and you couldn't answer."
The man embarrassingly smiled, "Hehe, yes sir, that was me, Raymond Barry. And I'm sure many of the viewers must be confused, so let me show you a few clips from the days gone."
Then, a short clip was played where the news about the Magnus bus accident was being talked about. Then there was a clip of Magnus giving the interview and then finally him getting the George Cross from the queen.
Raymond then asked, "Did the prince know about her majesty back then?"
"No, he did not. Only recently I told him about his true family. He was shocked for sure but accepted it. Just like Ragnar." Adam replied. He had already memorised all the facts and dates about his new background.
The interview started on a very lighthearted note and many jokes were passed. But by the second half, serious questions had started to come.
"Some people are these days complaining against you that you are not serious about being the royal prince as you refuse to go to dinners and parties to socialise. Why is that?" Raymond asked.
Adam sighed, "For this country. I am a man of science. I serve this nation by inventing things. Do you know how long it would have taken to create a working Solid-State Battery? Decades. And by inventing that, I have effectively pushed the world forward by decades, our country by decades. We can have an edge in battery technology now.

"By going to parties, what will happen? Will I socialise? Will I meet a few rich people? But those things are not on my to-do list at the moment. Do you see how pathetic the condition of the economy is? We are so far behind everyone. The United Kingdom used to be rich, but we messed up its post-war development due to corruption and now we're facing the consequences.
"So sorry if I don't have time to go to lavish parties when a common man does not have money to put food on the table. Yes, I am thankful for the comfortable life that I am living right now, but that does not give me the right to just sit down and relax because I can.
"I have the ability and I am using it to create scientific advancements for this nation. You can not imagine how great the future will be for the batteries, they will be used everywhere. But if we want to stay ahead we need to never stop innovating.
"To all those who say I am not doing a good job as the prince, I accept your allegation. Because I am not trying to do a good job as the prince, I am trying to do a good job as the concerned citizen of this country." He lectured. Magnus was a master propagandist at this point, he had taught Adam a few points on what to focus on when you want to incite motivation and positivity in people.
Raymond was a bit taken aback. He was not expecting an aggressive answer like this, but he liked it. What Adam said established him as a people's man instead of one who sits in castles and eats in luxury, wasting taxpayers' money.
"What about your wife, Lady Grace, who is also a scientist with her own groundbreaking discovery?" he asked.
Adam smiled, "Well, she is the shining star of my life. Her invention is really life-saving, and she does the same every single day in the operation room. I am so proud of her that I can't describe it. She's also focused on creating better ways to treat heart-related problems, so she's not much into the high-class dinner and gatherings. I mean, if she's able to save a few more lives at the cost of not going to dinner then there is no point in blaming her of anything."
"Of course, sir. We are now nearing the end of this interview. Last question, what are your real goals?" Raymond asked.
Adam looked at Raymon's face, and then at the camera, "Well, I want to launch the first electric battery-powered car, and keep on innovating until it becomes affordable by everyone in this country. Now my only wish is that this economic slowdown can go away and people can start living a better life again. Thank you."
"A very visionary dream. I wish you a lot of luck with your plans and success. And pray for this country's well being."
With a few more flattery and words, the interview ended. The effect of Adam's interview was that the image of the crown became a bit better. People who considered them useless at least saw Adam and Grace as very important people who were giving back to the country more than anyone else.
...
Nicolas' House.
Magnus looked at the television, and the interview just ended. Nicolas laughed after it ended.
"Haha, you lot are very smart, fully know how to use public sentiment in your favour. I bet now your father will become the most loved Royal, and your mother will be the goddess of healing in their eyes," he said.
Magnus chilled on the sofa, "It's good then. The better the image of the monarchy, the better for me."
"But what if they will like Adam more than you?" Mrs Flamel asked.
Magnus smiled, "For that, I'm going to blow the world's mind by creating a few things that will affect everybody's lives. OH! Professor, from daily life I remembered, can you help me make this new wireless phone magic proof? So I can use it to call even in the magical world?"
Nicolas took the phone with interest, "You are saying this small thing can let me talk to people?"
Magnus nodded, "YES!"
"BWAHAHA... you are 500 years early to fool me, boy. Go away now and study. Huh, talk with this little thing. Humans are not that developed yet." He scoffed at the small phone.
Magnus took out another phone from the bag and called the phone in Nicolas's hand.
*TRING TRING*
Magnus looked at Nicolas' face with a taunting smile and said, "It seems your muggle knowledge is outdated. This is the future, old man."
"THIS... THIS IS LIKE! MAGIC!" Nicolas exclaimed.
