Harry Potter: Blood Of The Dragon Chapter 171

"Where the hell are we? This place looks more like a graveyard." Ragnar wondered.
"Yeah, graveyard of mice." Magnus sarcastically replied.
Severus looked around, "Where did Myrtle go? I don't think she will be able to return without our help."
Magnus grunted in annoyance, "When I asked her, she didn't come, now she's lost. I hope she does not find her killer first."
So, they started looking around, to find a way. It was obviously a very old unused sewage route, as there was rarely any water there, and only dirt and more mouse skeletons were around.
"MAGNUS! Look, isn't this snakeskin?" Ragnar saw a big structure, which initially seemed like a natural forming but when he saw the head they realised its reality.
Magnus stopped to admire it, "It's a pretty big snake. That Salazar really didn't leave any stones unturned to make sure the world hated him."
"Well, we got our little dragon Magnus to fight this big snake, I'm sure we will win." Ragnar jokingly said. Magnus hated this name.
"Heh, of course, I will defeat this snake." Magnus boasted as he felt he had made a foolproof plan to deal with the basilisk.
After walking for a few minutes, Magnus and the others arrived at a big iron door, it was closed and had a snake pattern on it everywhere.
"OPEN..." Magnus said in the Dragontongue. Quickly the snake pattern started to move, depicting that the lock was opening with loud metal sounds.
"Didn't Salazar know that there are people in India who can also speak parseltongue? What if a student from there opened this place?" Ragnar wondered.
"I read that these parseltongue speakers are mostly scattered tribes and they don't really mingle with the mainstream magical community. So I don't think there is any way they would come to this school." Magnus reasoned.
*CHE-CHE..." With a metallic screeching sound, the door opened. Magnus walked forward to see what was beyond, and it was breathtaking. Calling it the Giant hall of Narcissism would have been better. There were so many head sculptures of Salazar Slytherin. The man was self-obsessed to the limit.
But, putting it all aside, he finally saw the snake. It was silently sleeping in the middle of the hall. "Let's see if it's awake."
Magnus picked up a stone from where he was standing and threw it at the snake.

*BAM*
It directly hit the head. But the snake didn't even move.
He took a sigh of relief, "So my theory was right. These Snakes are supposed to live only for a few hundred years. The fact it's still alive means it was in some kind of comatose state. The last time it wreaked havoc was in 42-43. Since then, someone has put it in this state again.
Let's go, first deal with its eyes." Magnus proceeded to go down towards the hall.
Warily, Ragnar and Severus also followed. Magnus fearless went very close to it. It didn't even feel like it was breathing, it just existed there. But it was terrifying, its big head and spikes over the front were scary enough. The jaw was big enough to swallow them whole too.
Without wasting any time, Magnus took out the glasses with straps he had made. It was like ski goggles. They had black glasses and didn't let anybody see inside. This would make sure nobody can look into Basilisk's eyes.
To Ragnar and Severus' shock, Magnus jumped onto the head of Basilisk and started to put it on. Its strap was made of strong rubber. This way the strap would forever stay in position unless purposefully taken off. Even the glass was magically reinforced to withstand heavy force.
It took him about 15 minutes to completely put it on, tightly tying it around the head of Basilisk.
"Ta-daaa... This way, we can look at him and still not get affected. Well, yeah his eyes will be worthless now but that's a plus for us." Magnus muttered and got down from it.
He stood right in front of the head and looked at his friends in pride, "What do you think? Isn't this an amazing creation of mine? Let's wake him up."
Magnus knew he needed to communicate with the snake in order to make it follow his command, but it wouldn't be possible without waking it. Also, he couldn't use legilimency on it, because he needed to look in the eyes for that and here, he'd rather not do that.
But, amidst all this self-thinking, he failed to hear some very serious warnings.
"MAGNUS...RUN!" Suddenly Ragnar shouted.
Magnus, confused, looked back. The giant snake had somehow woken up now, and it shook his head to get the weird thing off of his face. He could still see though, just barely.

He noticed Magnus right in front of him and went into attack mode. He threw his head at Magnus at a very fast speed.
"HISSSSS... GRAAAAAAAA..."
*BAM*
Before Magnus could even react, the Snake had seamlessly bit Magnus' arm, though Magnus was able to make sure it did not bite his head. But the bite was strong and the snake lifted him in the air, then it started yanking him like a ragdoll.
Left, right, left, right. Magnus shouted as the painful rollercoaster ride wasn't coming to an end. Seeing no other way, he took out a wand from inside his pocket, then transferred it to the hand still stuck in the mouth.
"BOMBARDA MAXIMA!"
*BOOM*
The loud explosion occurred right in the mouth of the snake, dark red flames came out of it. But, it didn't have too much effect on it. But Magnus was freed from the jaws of the snake.
"BLOODY MAGIC RESISTANCE!" he cursed, seeing how strong the snake was.
He fell to the ground with a thud. His left arm was heavily injured and it was oozing blood, plus the venom was burning his skin and rotting the wound, turning it black. If he did not heal it would spread around his body and he'd die a very painful death.
Magnus was in real pain right now and knew he had to do something quickly or he won't win this. He bit his teeth and ran to his suitcase to open it. Severus and Ragnar seemed frozen.
"STOP STANDING AND DO SOMETHING!" Magnus shouted at them.
Ragnar stepped out of his fear and took out a big flask from his robes and threw it at the floor from where the snake was supposed to come.
It was some kind of a green liquid. It spread around everywhere on the floor. The snake didn't even see it and continued on to it.
"SEVERUS! FIRE!" Ragnar shouted.
"Incendio!" Severus sent it to the green liquid, and soon enough it all caught fire, with the Basilisk in the middle of it. The fire was green and very hot.
"HAAAA..." It hissed in pain, but it was still moving towards them frantically.
"MAGNUS! Get that rooster out quick." Ragnar reminded him.
Magnus was just using one hand now so it was taking him some time. But, he was having trouble finding the rooster.
"Where did the rooster go?" He asked Duck, looking at Magnus from inside the case.
Duck just made the chewing action and it was now clear. Duck had eaten the rooster.
"Ah, you fools. Come out now and help me fight the Basilisk." He called Duck out. But Chad and Summer also followed, though as soon as they saw the crazed snake they just kept their heads out of the suitcase and looked at everything.
Meanwhile, Duck with a powerful mighty roar flew out of it and landed in front of Magnus.
The first thing it noticed was the heavily injured arm of Magnus. "QUACK?"
Duck was very concerned for him and quickly looked at the wound from close. His eyes showed his worry that something bad might happen.
*Pat Pat*
"You just hold off the snake, I will heal myself in no time," Magnus tapped on Duck's nose and made him focus on the enemy.
Duck nodded and looked back at the Basilisk, anger raging in Duck's heart, seemingly saying, "HOW DARE YOU HURT MY DAD?"
*ROOOAR*
His heavy booming roar was so loud it made a few statues of Salazar break down from the sound waves. The Basilisk finally stopped in its tracks, seeing a worthy and life-threatening opponent.
But the Basilisk was not that dumb either, it knew that on a dragon, its best weapon was its eyes. Salazar had taught him this much.
So the Basilisk changed his direction and ran to a wall. *BOOM* It slammed its head on it, trying to break the object covering his eyes.
*BAM*
*Crack*
Cracks started to appear on it. *BAM* It took just one more slam and it shattered in pieces. Its yellow eyes were now clear for all to see.
"DON'T LOOK IN THE EYES!" Magnus reminded everyone loudly.
Summer and Chad scaredly ducked inside the suitcase, Ragnar and Severus started looking at their feet. Magnus too looked down.
But Duck was still there, proudly standing in front of the snake, seemingly looking down on this Basilisk.
