Harry Potter: Blood Of The Dragon Chapter 157

After settling everything at the Ministry, Magnus first arrived in London, it was a sunny day, looking very cheerful and clean, not really matching to what they were doing. He needed to find a way to get the police involved in this case, so that he doesn't have to deal with all the statements and annoying legal things later.
"Why are we here, sir?" Adrian asked him.
"To find a cop, his name is Tom. He was a constable a few years ago, I wonder if he was promoted. He told me he wished to someday be awarded by the queen, I guess his wish will be fulfilled now." Magnus revealed.
After looking around a little, Magnus finally saw the man. It seemed Tom had started working out and he didn't look fat anymore. He was in his uniform, eating a snack while sitting on a bench.
"Well, it seems he's been promoted one rank. Now he's a Sergeant." Adrian said, noticing the insignia.
"Let's go and talk to him. I wonder if he remembers me." Magnus muttered and walked forwards. Now Tom had a stubble beard on his face and his eyes seemed to have dark circles. Magnus only remembered him from the time he was lost, he hadn't heard of him ever since.
"Excuse me, Uncle Tom." He voiced.
Tom was tired after a whole night of running around the city due to work, only now he had got to eat something. But, this was after such a long time someone called him Uncle Tom.
He looked up and saw a boy. He felt like he had seen him before but couldn't pinpoint. Magnus had changed a lot since his height and body changed, even his face had a scar on his right eye.
He politely asked, "Yes, how can I help you?"
Magnus chuckled, "Did you not recognise me? The lost boy you found sleeping in that park?"
Slowly, Tom's face changed and a big smile appeared. For some reason, he seemed very happy. "AH, I remember you... how can I forget that day, Inspector's pocket had caught fire for some reason. How are you, umm... Magnus, right?"
Magnus appreciated that Tom remembered his name, a good quality for a policeman. "I'm fine. Congratulations on getting promoted. I knew you would become a big cop someday. Maybe even the Commissioner someday."
Tom embarrassingly rubbed his head. He remembered he had confessed his big dreams to Magnus that day. He was new to the department, so he had no idea how promotions worked.

"We'll see, what about you? Oh... I remember the news about you a few years ago, you saved some kids in a burning bus and got a medal from the queen. I told my friends that I knew you but they did not believe me." Tom rambled about his life.
Magnus kept smiling. He could only imagine what Tom's face will be when he takes the throne. He will be able to boast for his whole life, that he had saved the King when he was young and got lost.
"Yes, I also completed my school. But, uncle, quick quick, I need your help. I think I saw a suspicious building, I could hear the cries of many children from there. Let's go quickly." Magnus urged him.
The small sandwich immediately fell from his hand. "WHAT? I've been looking for a kidnapped daughter of a prosecutor. She's just 10 and was picked up yesterday evening while returning from her dance class. Quick, take me to that building."
Magnus nodded. "Follow me, we brought a car with us."
They immediately jumped into the White Range Rover that Abe had brought there not long ago. He had returned after that as his duty was to keep Adam and Grace safe.
"Who are you?" Tom asked Adrian.
"I am Adrian Durian, CEO of MEDA." He introduced himself and put forward his hand.
Tom was frozen, of course, he knew the name of MEDA. They have been so helpful in solving many cases. Even now, the police had unofficially asked MEDA for help as this child kidnapping case was too high profile.
"Woah, even the CEO has come out to work. No wonder your company is so good. Let's go." Tom praised and got in the car.
Adrian just nodded and started driving fast. He didn't tell him that Magnus was the owner of the company. Magnus, though, was unhappy that he was made to sit in the backseat.
Adrian drove very fast, heading somewhere outside of London city, in the outskirts of Surrey.
"Wait, I thought it would be close by," Tom exclaimed as he held the roof handle of the car.
"It's not too far away, Uncle Tom," Magnus assured him.
After about 20 minutes of fast driving, they arrived at the area. It seemed to be mainly farmland, with various houses in distances. They could not go there directly as it would alert people, so they ditched the car and went on foot.
"Is this the house?" Tom asked as he took out a standard revolver to check the bullets and keep it ready.

[A/N: Note that the police in the United Kingdom are heavily restricted from carrying firearms. Only about 17% of officer carry a gun in London. But, as Tom is a Sergeant, he can oversee who gets to take the guns, and can also keep one.]
Magnus looked at the revolver and thought, ~Just hope that there are no wizards, or else this will be useless. Tsk... I hope I haven't jinxed it now.~
Magnus and Adrian kept their wands ready to start at any time. Magnus had also cast a few charms on himself and Tom, to make sure they were not discovered so easily before they got close.
Adrian was already an expert in everything, he was an auror and now into detective work, so Magnus let him lead with Tom. He had their backs covered.
"Shhh..." They crouched as soon as they arrived behind the building. It was a big concrete building, that was probably some kind of an office before. It was decently large but all its doors and windows had been sealed. As far as they could see, there was nobody outside the building. Even the area around the building was desolate.
"You heard the kids here?" Tom asked them.
Magnus silently focused and tried to hear the noises in the surrounding area. Then, he suddenly prone on the ground and put his ear on it.
"Got them, they are underground. I can hear their cries and pleas." Magnus noticed.
Immediately Tom and Adrian also crouched and put their ears on the ground. Soon, they also heard them.
"Okay, how are we going to do this?" Magnus asked, but he had already discussed it with Adrian.
So Adrian started, "Simple, you and Magnus go through the front while I enter from the back. We don't know how many there are but we must save the kids quickly."
Tom nodded but then looked at Magnus, "We can't take him inside, it'll be dangerous."
~Yes, for you.~ Magnus thought.
"Come on, uncle, did you forget I was able to bend steel rods in that burning bus? I was 9 then, now I am much stronger. Look, I even brought a metal baseball bat to beat them. You can be in front of me, while I stay behind." Magnus proposed.
The thing was, Magnus was not as small as he should be in terms of height. So it created an illusion for Tom that made Magnus look older.
"Okay then, you will stay behind me. Let's go." They got up.
Adrian was going to apparate inside the building and start dealing with them quickly. Now there was no doubt that this place was where the kids were kept.
Magnus and Tom went to the front door. But as Tom was about to knock on it, Magnus stopped him.
"Stop, I will knock, with a childish voice. They might not open if they hear you." He reasoned.
Then, Magnus used some force and knocked on the door. He made the cutest voice he could, "Please, let me in, please..."
Tom held himself from coughing as he choked on his saliva. Magnus almost sounded like a girl moaning while doing the deed.
Magnus though was satisfied by his girly voice. ~I bet I can fool Rag and Sev. Hehe, I should totally prank Sirius and James with this. Remus might be too smart to fall for it though.~
*KSHHH...*
The doorknob started to turn with a creek. Tom immediately pulled Magnus behind him and hid his gun, but still had it ready in his pant pocket.
The door slowly opened and a man appeared, about 30, medium build, with brown hair and nearly as tall as Tom. His pupil dilated immediately as he saw the police officer.
"Yes, how can I help you?" He asked rudely.
"Do you live here?" Tom asked.
"No, I come here to shit every day, of course, I live here. Go away now, don't bother me." He tried to huff them away and close the door. He smelled something wrong with the mix of Magnus and the cop.
...
But, just as that was happening, Adrian had entered the building. He was silently knocking men out. But, the whole building was like a maze and he was having to move around to find people.
However, when he entered one room, there turned out to be a small stash of weapons, and 4 men were playing cards there. They saw Adrian and immediately picked up their large guns.

Valor and Violence
Valor and Violence is a series of short stories following different, yet all equally colourful, characters set in the same world. Birth of a Legend, the first short, follows Captain Erskine Erwell, a newly promoted Captain in the Calandorian Royal Navy, charged with protecting his people from all who would do them harm. Great news for the Calandorian citizens, bad news for the Skjar reavers that ravage the shores in search of slaves. But when a small reaver fleet slips the net and escapes to the southern jungles of Marduk, Erwell must fight a war on two fronts; one against the raiders, and a far more difficult war against the hostile landscape. If he can't find allies in this strange land, he may end up being the one in need of saving. The first part of the second short story will be uploaded on Saturday, the 11th of June, following Ferez Ahud, an aspiring young battlemage charged with the unsavoury job of 'terminating' a rogue member of his college. But how this nobody of a mage became a fugitive remains a mystery, and when the answer is discovered, the tables are turned and the hunter becomes the prey. I'll be uploading chapters of more in-universe short stories each week or as close to, work permitting. Content Guidelines: course language and violence

Dungeon Core Chat Room.
This is a slower-paced "experiment and dungeon building" web novel that tries to use the idea of peer-to-peer communication with Dungeon Cores instead of Dungeon to slave monster communication to break up the detailed dungeon building. Rank 1 description: (minimum met for system initialization...detailed description as follows) Each race was given a system by the gods to make up for their shortcomings and balance their place in this world. Humans: Abysmally bad at understanding and using magic unable to use more than the lowest of magic were given the "Skill System" magic in the form of premade skills with use, study, and mastery tied to experience. Elves: Intuitively understand magic and have long lives leading to vast knowledge and skill in their chosen fields. However, as a species, they have nearly zero sex drive and less than low fertility, so they were gifted the "World Tree System" with experience gained through the care of natural areas – gifting the chance of children to increase their numbers without dirty copulation. All “natural” or “wild” monsters are given an "Evolution system" designed around killing and consuming as many creatures as possible, slowly increasing strength and, at thresholds, allowing mutations to alter them multiple times. Dungeon cores are different. Unlike humans, they can see, manipulate and live off mana. Unlike Elves, they naturally crystallize after extended periods of time in high mana level areas. However, they cannot easily move or communicate and typically go insane without companionship. As a species other than the odd eccentric they are unimaginative. Brute forcing solutions without the drive to truly innovate. Thus they have been gifted with the "Dungeon Connection System" a magical version of the internet accessible by their peers that allows them to barter and sell: bait, traps, monsters, and knowledge, as well as entertain each other with “adventure streams” using exciting recorded battles and humorous reels of arrogant chumps biting off more than they can chew to often fatal effects. This is the casual story of a dungeon unluckily spawned far from potential adventurers forced to innovate beyond its peers to find its place in this world. Rank 2 Description: Justification. I've been on a dungeon core kick for months and while I love the genre – it's sparse with entries. Often the forced conflict gets repetitive and frantic solving of threats "power levels" the protagonist to god levels to progress the plot – taking away the nice steady progression fantasy I'm looking for. (Progression in this story is linked to how strong of monsters/traps/whatever he can create not his "level"...this is demonstrated by some of his newer monsters beating his older monsters not with discrete "this monster has 10 attack this one has 40") Additionally, the focus on 3rd parties with their drama takes away from the reason I’m reading dungeon core novels in the first place – I'm looking for magical crafting, experimentation and kingdom building – not defence from higher and higher levelled enemies looking to steal/destroy/control the MC. This novel is kind of just me writing the story I wish I could read. I like thinking about the experimentation that can be done in fantasy settings using 'mana' as an excuse to make up rules and try to keep them internally consistent. IE once I define how a rule works, I'm going to commit to keeping it – no breaking hard truths I've given when it's convenient, even if it backs me into a corner. Hopefully, that should make the story interesting to read even if it's SOL and less action-oriented. There will be problems to solve and a clear progression in strength (of created monsters and knowledge) however due to not wanting to force conflict for the sake of conflict the general theme will be closer to slice of life with few action sequences and no overarching goal so please keep that in mind when picking this up as the genre is not for everyone. Finally, I have a clear goal of what I want from this story (not an endless romp but a series of arcs and then a conclusion that's a couple of dozen medium-sized chapters long) I want to commit to finishing it or at least bringing it to a point of rest. I hate all the engaging stories that stop with a “hiatus” indefinitely so in the event I lose motivation I'll work to end this even if the ending becomes rushed/unsatisfying just to give a sense of closure. I’m planning on including several polls in terms of direction and taking feedback heavily into account if I get enough readers (but may choose to ignore it if it deviates too far from the direction I want to take this as in feedback like: “The MC needs a cartoonishly evil arch-enemy that wants to enslave him and force the mc to pump out magic items” or “the MC needs to make a body and learn teleportation then live with humans” will get shot down without consideration.)

The Traveler
Reincarnated with no information other than a single mysterious message, little Damian must survive as an infant in a world of might and magic. He’d better not get caught possessing his memories, or he might spend a thousand years suffering. Being a baby in another world is weird, disorientating, scary, disgusting, and also heartwarming. It doesn’t just happen for no reason, but the “why?” might be a harder puzzle to solve than conquering the whole entire realm. Both of those eventualities were very remote possibilities for an unusually smart baby. He was more concerned with making it to his first birthday without being damned by the gods or eaten by dangerous monster.
