Harry Potter: Blood Of The Dragon Chapter 101

Magnus returned to the hotel after his successful meeting and signing of the contract. He was very happy with the result too.
He was going to tour around with his family today as he did not have much time. The next day there would be an auction and then he will have to return to Britain before 2nd January as he needed to go back to Hogwarts that day.
"OKAY... Let's go, mum and dad. We're going to see some camels." Magnus voiced.
And so, their little vacation started. They went to see camels, then they did some Adventure sports. After that, by the evening they returned to the hotel to have a nice local cuisine dinner.
Magnus then started preparing for the next day.
"Is the man you hired trustworthy?" Magnus asked.
"Of course, he's a muggle-born from Britain. I've known him for some time now. Don't worry." Ted assured Magnus.
Magnus had planned to strategically jack up the biddings whenever he felt the need. He wanted the most out of that big diamond.
"Let's just hope everything goes well tomorrow," Magnus muttered and went to sleep.
...
While he slept, some people were wide awake. It was none other than Ahmad, the owner of the auction company. The moment he saw the diamond, he knew he needed to tell a few people, people who would go crazy over it and would want to have it at all cost.
After all, there was no other diamond like this and some rich families would like to have it as a family heirloom.
But, first, he needed to show his respect to the monarch of the country he was in. So, he quickly went to the Royal Palace. There, he could show the images his people took of the diamond. Magnus did not leave it under their care as he didn't trust them.
Not only that, Ahmad had sent the photos to various rich people by his people from the flight. If they are interested they can also bid. The more competition there was, the higher its price would be.
He was a decently prominent person and was granted a meeting with the king soon enough, also, he told the secretary that it was a matter of utmost importance.
He went in front of King Faisal bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, the current ruler and respectfully showed the photos.
"Your majesty, this is real, I saw it with my own eyes and held it in my own hands. It also has the certification of authenticity and quality. It is really the world's largest, finest blue diamond. It will be auctioned tomorrow." Ahmad said.
The old king looked at the photo in appreciation. It looked so beautiful in the image, he couldn't imagine how it would look in real life.

"Who is selling it?" he asked.
Ahmad replied truthfully, as hiding anything was foolish. "A boy, a child I'd say, just 11 years old. His name is Magnus Grant, a British. I don't know where he got the diamond from but it is known that he owns a holding company that is worth millions."
The king was now more amused and interested in this child millionaire.
*Knock Knock*
Just then, the door of the office opened and the eldest son of the king, Abdullah bin Faisal Al Saud walked in. He ignored Ahmad and went straight to his father. He put a file on the table and then whispered something in the king's ears, making the old king's eyes widen in shock.
The king opened the file on his table and read it with full focus. He looked at some images and documents.
*Sigh*
He looked back at Ahmad, "Never address him as a boy, child or anything disrespectful, not even when alone. People with such long and strong profound bloodlines deserve to be respected. You may leave now, we will come to the auction tomorrow."
Hearing the King's strict warning, Ahmad sweated a little. He respectfully paid his respects and left. Coming out of the royal palace, he wondered what the background of that boy was to earn the respect of the king.
But, he quickly put it at the back of his head as it was time to make some money and make some phone calls.
...
*YAWN...*
Magnus woke up in the penthouse. He looked around and felt weird by the surroundings, but a little later realised he was not at home.
~Ah... it was such a nice dream. I was swimming in a pool of liquid luck.~ he muttered to himself.
It was a sunny day outside the window. He quickly brushed his teeth and got dressed. In the living room, he saw his parents were well dressed too.
Adam and Grace looked no less than some big movie stars with their pretty faces and toned bodies. Ragnar, though, didn't have any modern muggle styled suits so Grace had to buy one for him quickly.
"LET'S GO AND GET RICH." He loudly greeted them.
*BOOP*
"Don't be so greedy." Grace lightly knocked on his head.
"Ouch... I'm a good boy who loves pancakes, that's it." Magnus innocently replied.
"However, you're even more greedy when it comes to pancakes. Let's go now. The car is waiting for us." Adam came to his rescue.
They left the hotel and arrived at the auction. The place was decorated as if a marriage celebration was going to be held there.
Well, technically, after the auction there was going to be a big New Year party that will go on until the next morning.

They arrived at the main door of the building that had a red carpet laid. Some people came to open the car door. And as soon as they got out they met the entrance manager. He had a list of guests.
"Welcome, Mr Grant." He greeted Magnus first with deep respect.
"A VIP box has been allotted to you and your family. Please follow our staff." He respectfully told them.
Magnus followed while thinking that this special treatment must be due to him selling the big diamond.
The VIP box was on the upper floor of the auction hall. It was a real box-shaped room with a big glass window looking down at the stage. Then there was also a telephone in the room to speak their bids.
After taking their seats, they were given a catalogue of all the items that were being sold today. Magnus opened it out of interest. Not so surprisingly, the whole 1st page was all about the diamond with its size, weight, condition and high-quality images. It was certainly the biggest highlight of the evening.
"Ah, they have a lot of cars for sale." Adam voiced.
Magnus also checked them out and indeed, there were a lot of collectables. He knew that these cars were something that age like what he had heard was called fine wine. Their value only increases with time.
"Maybe I will bid for some cars." He decided.
"Why? We have cars at home." Grace asked.
Magnus explained to her, "Mum, these are collectables. Their value will increase with time. In fact, in the future, they will be valued a lot because they will be owned by the King of Britain."
She couldn't deny that. Anything owned by the king would be a special collectable item around the world as it would have a special story behind it.
They waited for the auction to start. The normal seats in the main hall started to get filled soon. In a few minutes, the hall was jam-packed. Magnus though was enjoying himself in the VIP box with special food service. He and Ragnar were sipping on some apple juice while adults drank diluted whiskey.
"WELCOME TO THE GRAND NEW YEAR AUCTION..." the speakers started making noise.
Magnus looked out of the glass window at the stage. The auctioneer was speaking from the stage.
"I hope everyone is settled in their seats and have a glass of a drink in their hands. Make yourself comfortable because THIS IS GOING TO AN EXCITING NIGHT."
"Now, the first item of the day is a book. There are only 4 copies of this and none of them is in as good condition as this..."
Magnus boredly looked at the auction happening. There was nothing of interest to him and usually, the starting items are the cheapest ones. Then, when the auction reached the middle, cars finally started to get showcased.
Magnus had only kept his eyes on 3 cars that he liked. He had asked his dad and he was told that all of them were collectables.
"And the next car is what one may call beauty and also a beast in one body. It is the 1935 Duesenberg SSJ. A car of luxury and also speed. It can go from 0 to 100 in 9 seconds with its 400 horsepower engine. The bidding starts at three hundred thousand dollars." the announcer introduced the car. It was also brought to the stage.
Magnus wanted it. He was also attracted to its old-style design. They don't make stuff like this nowadays.
~Okay, let's do this.~
Magnus's first waited for the bids to calm down a little as he didn't want anyone to interrupt him. Finally, at double, six hundred thousand dollars, only one bidder was left.
"Six hundred thousand, ONE... Any more bidders? Or this will go out of your hands forever." the auctioneer tried to cheer people up.
Magnus calmly picked up the telephone and spoke in it. Immediately the headphones on the auctioneer's head alerted him.
"WE HAVE A NEW BID. Eight hundred THOUSAND." he roared.
But, instantly the man who previously bid six hundred thousand raised his hand again.
"Nine hundred thousand. Any more bids?" the auctioneer asked.
Magnus hated losing money. He bit his teeth and bid again on the phone.
"ONE MILLION DOLLARS... ANY MORE BIDS?"
It was Magnus' unlucky day, and the man again lifted his hand and bid 1.1 million. This went on for a while and Magnus finally got the car for 1.3 million.
"AH... I WASTED TOO MUCH!" he cried to himself.
But, suddenly, Ragnar slammed his elbow to his side, "Are you dumb, Magnus? How can you forget your biggest weapon? Gifted by me."
Magnus looked at Ragnar's face and it clicked in his mind.
"AH!... OH!... I AM SUCH A DUMMY!... Of course, I got LIQUID LUCK! HEHE... Let's see who makes me lose money now." He evilly chuckled and quickly drank the potion he always kept in his pocket.

The Systems of the Multiverse - A Guide for the Multiversal Traveler
The Systems of the Multiverse have their issues. I, an observer from outside the multiverse have made it into my mission to tell you, the multiversal traveler about those issues and dangers. This is a relatively low effort NaNoWriMo and Writhathon project. I want to test myself if I can manage 55k words in a month, likely updating every single day until the end. This story is told in the form of an in universe book. Well, I say story... While this definetly won't be great, I still hope it will be enjoyable. I do my best to avoid grammar mistakes and spelling issues, but won't promise anything. Corrections are welcome, this is also an excercise to improve my writing from a technical standpoint. Not from a worldbuilding and character standpoint however, for that you need time. Oh, the keyboards (and computers) that the observer destroys are not real and only exists in story to have an excuse to easily end this story at the end of NaNoWriMo. I also personally like reading LitRPG stories, so this isn't meant to hate them. It might come over that way, but many of those issues are simply fun to think about: what would really happen if the world is so, seen through a lease of negativity :-) [participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge]
