London at 4 a.m.
There were two small-time members of the Order of Phoenix waiting outside the house of Magnus. There were two people, one followed Adam and a female one, who followed Grace.
They had rented the house right in front of Magnus'.
*Sigh*
"Why do they come home so late these days? I thought they were very successful people?" the man asked.
*Sigh*
"They are. But someone is messing with Grace. Her authority has been taken away and someone else has been put above here in the hospital, she has also been given the night shift and the amount of work has been increased. I feel bad for her." the woman said.
"Adam too, he got transferred to such a faraway office that it takes 4 hours to go and then 4 more hours to return. It is as if..."
"Someone is targeting them?" the woman exclaimed.
They looked at each other's faces. They were not told about the business with the royal family though, so they had no way of knowing who was targeting this small family.
"Should we tell Dumbledore?" the woman questioned.
"I think we should." The guy nodded. Then, the two used the special Patronus method Dumbledore had created that could be used to communicate with people secretly.
...
Buckingham Palace,
"Dear, are you sure this was the right thing to do? The stone tablet clearly said not to harm the inheritor." The queen talked to her husband.
"They are in the military, there is no reason for them to suspect something is wrong. It's just a normal change of duty. Besides, we are not harming the boy in any way." the Prince said.
"I don't know. He is just an 11-year-old boy. Maybe we should talk to him first, if the magic can not be reversed then we can surely take the boy under us, he can be the king while we hold the power." The queen argued.
"But his parents are not fools, dear. They will instantly know what we are trying to do. Also, if he really has a direct claim to the throne, why would they agree to let us hold the power?" The prince argued.
The queen looked out of the window, deep in thought. "Then what are you hoping to do?"

"If he is supposed to be a royal, then... that would make us his relatives. Suppose he did not have parents, then we can legally take his custody, not that it would be any problem for us." the prince planned.
"I checked, their family was never related to us, maybe we have branched away too far from the Pendragon bloodline." she reasoned. She was not feeling comfortable doing anything against the kid at the moment.
But the prince insisted, "All nobles are related, dear. You can surely find a link. What really matters is getting him with us."
"Let me think about it. Do not do anything without my consent." She sternly said and waved her hand to make her husband go away.
She sighed and looked at the file on her desk. It was the file about the entirety of the life of the Grant family. From the earliest ancestor to the most recent one. The earliest Grant she was able to track was in the 1600s. He was a respected knight, but, then he died and his eldest son inherited the knighthood, who later changed his name to his wife's surname, but died on his way on a Ship to India on a royal mission. While Magnus belonged to the 2nd son of that old knight, hence his family had no noble title.
"Should I be happy that the blood of Arthur Pendragon is still alive or be sad because it wants my throne? I hope I don't make a mistake. And to think I gave him the George Cross myself... at least he showed the bravery that lies in his blood," she muttered to herself.
...
In another house in London.
Andromeda Tonks (née Black), had married the muggle-born, Ted Tonks and had gotten expelled from the family. She did not get to take any of her belongings and as a woman, had no right to anything in the family.
But, she was happy. With the love of her life, she lived among muggles that kept her address a secret and no troubles from the pureblood supremacists came as not many people knew about their address. She was a housewife now and Ted was a lawyer, making decent enough to live.
It was morning and they just woke up. But all of a sudden, they noticed an orange owl knocking on their window.
She had enough experience to know that this was a messenger owl, but she felt a bit nervous as not many knew about her address.
Ted got up from the bed, still a bit sleepy and took the letter. But, the owl still did not leave and lifted her claw up as if asking for something.

"What? Do you want money?" Ted asked in amazement.
The owl then turned her head towards a bowl of nuts on the table by the bed.
"Haha, that? Okay, here you go." He laughingly gave a few nuts and the owl finally left.
"Where is the letter from?" Andromeda quickly asked with a bit of nervousness.
"I don't know, there is nothing on it, just my name and our address," Ted said.
Andromeda felt a bit better knowing that the letter was not for her. "What does it say?"
Ted opened it and letter from the start till the end. Then, a smile appeared on his face and he looked back at his beloved wide.
"Dromeda, it seems I will be serving the king," he said.
Hearing this, she quickly took the letter and read it herself. "Hmm, so you're going to go and meet him?"
He nodded, "Of course, denying would be disrespectful, I'll also get to meet the living descendant of Merlin, I'm just a simple muggle-born, when would I get to meet him in my life again?"
"I'm sure he is not a muggle hater, his family is muggles after all." She said.
"I hope so. I will prepare some files now and go to Hogsmeade."
...
Hogwarts,
Magnus was late for the trials of Quidditch. He had no plan of joining before but after a bet with James, he was interested. Also, he was good at it so why not?
He went to the quidditch team practice grounds and just made a request to join in. Of course, Malfoy was the captain at the time and he rejected. So, he challenged Malfoy to a broom race and if he wins he will get to join the team.
By now, Magnus had learned one thing. That these pureblood fanatics would do anything and everything in the name of honour and keeping a high image. So, they can't just say no when they get challenged by someone they consider lower than themselves.
Magnus, although a descendant of Merlin, was still seen as a low-class wizard for being a muggle-born.
So, Lucius accepted the challenge. Now, Lucius may be a very good student, but he did not know physics and a few more things.
1. Magnus was smaller in size.
2. Magnus knew how to be more aerodynamic.
3. Lucius underestimated him.
So, the race started. In the start, Lucius used his explosive start to gain a short lead, but Magnus quickly picked up the speed and easily crossed him. Seeing this, Lucius raged internally but no matter what he did, he could not catch up to him.
In the end, Magnus won and got a seat in the team. But he still knew that this was not the end. He needed to become the seeker.
"Okay, I want the seeker position in the main lineup. I have made a bet with the seeker of Gryffindor, that if I win, then he will have to give each of us the new Nimbus 1500. So, you can either give me the position or we can test it if I am good enough." Magnus said.
Hearing that the bet was against Gryffindor, they all were pumped and easily accepted him in the game. But they accepted him for just 1 game that was going to be against Gryffindor.
After being so easily selected, he looked at Emma with a smirk. She had also been selected as the chaser, but she was in the second line.
"Yes yes, you're the best, now stop showing that smug face." She rolled her eyes and went on her way.
Ragnar and Snape were in the spectator's seats, watching him. When Magnus returned to them, Ragnar asked something all of a sudden, "Hey, I was taking to Sev. We were wondering, when your mum will get angry, what she will call you?
Because they usually say the full name, right? So, will she say... MAGNUS GRANT EMRYS PENDRAGON... come here...? But by the time she ends speaking your name, you can actually run away."
Magnus was left amazed at his friend's thought process. "Where did this come from?"
"Nothing, just talking about some useless things, I and Sev just ended our argument about where did the pureblood theory come from," Ragnar said.
"And what did you decide?" Magnus asked.
"Not much, but we collectively agreed that it came out of the mouth of an asshole," Ragnar replied.
"WOAH! language, Ragnar. We're kids." Magnus exclaimed.
Snape also snorted, "Huh, I told him to use buttocks, but he persisted on the vulgar iteration."
"That's what makes it sound better." Ragnar defended himself.
Magnus sighed, "Let's just go back."

Interface
Welcome to the World-City of Thousel, the sixth iteration of life on the planet. These are the recordings of the people of Thousel. Thousel is believed to be the second longest iteration of life, and the overall most prosperous compared to what we know about the past five iterations. Medicine and technology have all progressed abundantly, and the world itself has been turned into one great city, governed and managed by the Governmental-Company Alliance, or the GCA.These particular recordings concern the discovery of a peculiar machine. When two very different people find themselves bound by the fate of one mysterious bot, life in the World-City begins to change… Interface is a cyberpunk webnovel set in an ecumenopolis world where people evolved with electro-sensory abilities. These senses shape the face of modern technology and life in a world where the three largest corporations run what has effectively become the government. Each of these three companies control various aspects of life in the city, and they all constantly vie for domain and power over one another. The world stands at the precipice of biological, technological, and historical breakthrough. After decades of study into microbiology, archaeology, and geology, it has been discovered that sentient life has lived on the planet multiple times over. These past peoples are referred to as the “prior iterations of life,” and it is believed that five great civilizations were constructed before the rise of the modern world. No one can be sure for certain what caused these peoples’ extinction long ago, and the theories range from simply dying off over time to massive tectonic fractures in the face of the planet. Advanced technology, far more complicated than anything the people possess today, has been uncovered in multiple locations. This has lead scholars to speculate on exactly how long each iteration of life survived and how far they progressed as a society. None of the companies have been able to find a way to make this ancient technology work for their own profit. It is as though they are each missing the final key needed to unlock these centuries old secrets. What could this knowledge reveal about the nature of life across every iteration? What power could it give to the one who wields it?Far from the investigation into the origin of life, two kids unlock a new mystery – one that ties their fates to the discovery of an old, mysterious robot. Suddenly, eyes begin to turn towards them as life in the city of Thousel changes wherever they go…
