Xiao Ai didnt take long before washing up and coming back out. She met Gu Bojing sitting at the edge of the bed waiting patiently for her. His expression wasnt very happy when he glanced at her and only focused back on the book he was holding.

As she held the bath robe tightly to her chest she poked his cheek with a wet finger. "Something on your mind?"

Gu Bojing gave her a short stare before his eyes went back to the box she had brought back up. Xiao ai quickly explained herself.

"That is because I have something to add to the box."

"You dont have any kids stuff to give her."

Xiao AI smirked at him. "Who said I dont?"

She watched his expression for a while again before disappearing into the dressing room. Was this man really mad because she did not give Duoduo the gift? Does he like the little girl that much?

A part of Xiao Ai bled for Gu Bojing. Falling in love with her and getting married to her even though he knew she might not be able to reciprocate the feeling of love. She took a dress and checked the time. She still had to go to the beauty parlour. Thank God Hannah has made reservation at a beauty parlour. She simply had to make use of it. Hannah would just be mad at her and that would be all.

She texted Lifen to know if the lady will be attending the party.

/yo? Are you coming tonight?/

Lifen replied back immediately. /this one and my brother wont even let me lift a leg on my own. It will take a miracle to leave this place./

Xiao AI chuckled and adjusted the strap of her bra. Come to think of it, she did not really prepare a dress for tonight. She was confident because she knew Gu bojing always changed her wardrobe whenever he felt like and she was yet to touch any of the custom made clothes that he bought. She would simply pick one for tonight. Perhaps she would pick something pink, to match with Duoduos color.

If she were allowed, xiao Ai would have gotten a black or red dress for the little kid. Those were the colours Xiao ai loves to wear to outings best. But since the dad had already gotten pink, she would just go along with it.

/I am quite expensive./ she texted Lifen back.

When Lifen saw the message, she placed the spoon back to reply with a smirk. /name your price/

/Your brother... he seems too close to my big sister./

"Bolin saw something last night but wont tell./

Xiao rolls her eyes as she replies back. /He is not the type to kiss and tell. And we cant force it out of him. I dont want to see myself on the headlines as the next countess Bathory when I am done with him./

Bolin was stiring the soup he had placed in a bowl when he sneezed.

"Fuck. I have to start all over." He went back to pick the ingredients and looks sideways while glaring at the wall. He was a hundred percent sure, his big sister in law is the one speaking ill of him.

Who else will have the audacity if not her?

Lifen chuckled and her brother raised his head to give her a suspicious look. "You arent cooking anything up your sleeve are you?"

Lifen retorted. "Just because my clothes has sleeves does not mean I have evil things up my sleeves. Spare me."

She replied Xiao ai while her brother continued with the document in his hand. /I know right. Bolin can be extra dramatic at times. I will pay you after the deal./

Xiao AI walks out of the dressing room with her zip undone. She stood with her back facing Gu bojing and responded to Lifens text.

/You know I dont do deals like that./

/You know i cant run away. I am your friend and you will listen to me. Period!/

Xiao AI shakes her head as she felt Gu Bojings deft fingers on her back.

"This Lifen knows how to use the fact that we are friends to blackmail me. "

Gu Bojing helped her with the dress and turned his wife around. Adjusting the dress, he replied. "Are you two cooking io something bad up your sleeves?"

She was about to text Sweet Guy when she gave him an innocent look. "What do you mean? She is only saying she is not able to leave the hospital so I am going to help her attend the party tonight."

"And how will you do that?"

Xiao AI gave him a wicked glint. "Leave that to the evil plans up my sleeve."

He simply shook his head and watched her walk to the vanity to dress her hair. This wife of his, she never fails to surprise him.

Xiao ai texted sweet guy who replied almost immediately.

"You haven't heard from Little fool at all?"

The hand that was about to pick an earring froze when she heard his question. She glanced at him through the mirror but could not see his face properly since the man was not standing.

"No. I havent."

"Arent you worried?"

She honestly replied. "I am. But not to the point of being panicked about it. I now Little fool. He will crawl out of hell to heaven if he wants."

Gu Bojing shook his head to this. He did agree. Little Fool was that kind of person.

"What if...what if he doesn't return?"

"He will. I owe him some money."

He chuckled and helped her with the earring seeing that she still hasnt been able to get it fit into one ear hole.

"Is it weird that I dont want him to return?"

Xiao AI only laughed to this and shakes her head. "You are jealous of your cousin. That is why. But let's be positive. He is still your family."

"You still like him?"

This made Xiao ai turn around to look at him although she had to staring her neck.

"Ok. I am going to clear this once and for all. Everyone thinks I like Little Fool, but the truth is no. I don't like him."

Gu Bojing gives her a slight warning in his looks. "Dont push it in my face."

"I do like him. As friends. As business partners. Yes. But there was never anything romantic to it."

"You never have anything romantic for anything." He reminded.

She stood up to match his gaze and spwre he rneck from straining. "I am being serious right now. But you all can believe whatever you want."

She walked back into the dressing room and brought out something wrapped in black clothing. Opening the box she was supposed to give Duoduo, she places it in it and gave an evil smile to Gu Bojing.

"I dont know what that is but I hope it is something safe."

She said in a sing song. "It is something that will keep her safe. We have a very beautiful daughter you know."

Wary of her, he confessed. "I am not sure I like that tone."

Xiao AI winked at him and carried the box. "Open the door Mr Gu."

He stared at he for some time before waking to the door. "No make up today? That simple?"

"Yea. I am heading to the beauty parlour so...."

He nods his hea daddy if he understood her unfinished sentence. Walking down the stairs, Xiao ai began to nag. "I have lots of things to do today. I have to go see Jenny. I have to help Lifen. The beauty parlour and not to forget that I must annoy Bolin today. Been long since I did that. I have to annoy him today at all cost."

"Spare the poor guy already."

"No way. My mental health is at stake if I spare your brother."

"And my brothers mental health?"

"He has a sister who is Psychologist and a friend who is a Psychiatrist so...he will be fine. Dear Duoduo..." She called looking around for the little girl.

Duoduo emerged from the kitchen with chocolates around her mouth and some near her face.

"I thought she could eat pretty well by herself?"

Dupduo shined her teeth at Xiao and ran back into the kitchen. By the time she came out, her hands were clean and mouth wiped clean as well.

She walked to them said. "No evidence. No case."

Gu Bojing gave her a fist bump.

"You shouldnt eat too much chocolate you know." Xiao AI reprimanded.

"When did I eat too much chocolate mummy?"

Xiao AI pointed at the kitchen and wanted to make a statement when Gu Bojing interfered.

"Yea tell us when she ate too much chocolate. Do you have any evidence of that Mrs Gu?"

Xiao AI looked from father to daughter and walked to the living room. "I wont fall into the trap of you two this morning. Come along little bun. Mummy has a surprise for you." She gave the girl the box to open and Duoduo stares at her with watery eyes.

Hugging her legs again, the little bun spoke. "Thank you mummy."

Xiao AI patted her back. "You are welcome." She felt slightly guilty since she didnt buy the gift for her. She did not know that the little girl would fancy it this much. Maybe she needs to pay more attention like Gu bojing does.
