She turned around to throw the person off her but ended up being engulfed in a tight hug. She tried to wriggle free for some time but catching the scent, she let herself calm down.

"Shhh...be a good girl." He cooed and she felt her hands go light. The urge to beat Lifen was fading away by the second. "Just now you were eating, how did you end up in a fight with your best friend?"

Xiao Ai was breathing heavily and couldnt mange to speak a word so he just patted her back gently and spoke words of comfort to her.

Since the police had arrived at the scene, Lifen couldnt find another reason to fight Xiao Ai as she wanted.

Yusheng threw his handkerchief at her and stared at her swollen face in disgust.

"Are you a thug? Why will you pick a fight with Xioa Ai when you know how she is?"

Lifen smirked at Yusheng and wiped her lips that had a cut on it. "Do you really like me? Or are you just an idiot? Cant you see what he is doing for her?" She tilted her head to Gu Bojing who was still embracing Xiao Ai.

Yusheng shook his head and pulled her into his arms. Lifens heart thumped in her chest but she convinced herself it was because she had just gotten into a fight. Why would she like Yusheng when she knew exactly what fate she would bring into him. Why would she ever want to be happy, when she knew it came at the expense of someones life?

She pushed him away and walked from the scene.

Yusheng who had only done what she wanted was surprised as to why he was pushed off.

Didnt she just directly say she wanted a hug? He quickly went after the woman who had just pushed him off. Did he not have any pride?

Gu Bojing had his secretary take care of things and he drove Xiao Ai home.

She didnt say a word and simply went up to sleep.

At Care Medical Centre, Yusheng had just finished tending to Lifens wound when Surgeon Jina walked in.

"That was hilarious. How did you two inseparable Shamless best friends end up fighting each other so much that you.." she attempted to touch Lifens face but her hand was held by Yusheng. "Sorry..I just came to make fun of you.

The moment she left Yusheng glared at Lifen. "Even if you were to get into a fight, couldnt you protect your face? Are you an idiot? Did Xiao Ai have injuries on her face?"

Lifen scoffed and looked aside. "Do you still like me?"

Yusheng sighed and removed his glove, he sat by her side and watched the side of her face which she turned towards him. "Yes. I still love you."

Her heart skipped a beat.

"Why? Do you want to die?"

"I dont believe in such superstitions. Xu Ning might be crazy." He caressed her small hands. "How do you even throw a punch when your hands are so small and cute?"

Lifen tried hard not to smile. "Dont tell me that. I wont believe you dont believe her. "

"I don't."

She turned her face to him and sat up. "Am I to believe you arent having dreams..?"

His hand that was holding hers suddenly turned cold and he stared down at his hand for some seconds. Still startled, he asked her, not daring to look at her. "Do you also...?"

She shifted closer to him and whispered. "Xiao Ai too."

Yusheng finally raised his head to stare into her eyes. "Xiao Ai too?"he asked. "Then the dreams...did you..?"

She shrugged her shoulders. "I am able to see the part of her life I am involved in, only Xiao Ai knows the rest."

Silence engulfed the room for the short period that money was speaking. It was as though the hospital had been emptied.

"Do you know why?"

She shook her head denying it. "Since when did you start to see it?"

Yusheng thought for a while before carefully answering. "Since Xu Ning told me about it."

Lifen was at alert. "Its the same for me. Ever since I forced it out of her, i have been having weird dreams. Did you see...Xiao Ai and Little Fool.."

Yusheng placed a hand on her lips. "If you say a bad dream out loud, it will come to pass."

"It wasnt that bad of a dream." She faintly smiled.

"To Xiao Ai, it is a bad dream. A nightmare."

Lifen slumped into the pillow adjusting herself so it was comfortable for Yusheng to still hold her hand. "Perhaps they arent meant to be."

Yusheng cuddled up next to her and smiled bitterly. "I beg to differ."

"What will happen if they arent meant to be?"

He chuckled softly. "Let's not hope for that. Xiao Ai will....let's just not hope for that.?
