For the first time since they left, Yusheng smirked at Lifen and whispered. "No one to save you tonight little bitch."

Gu Bojing walked forward before Xiao Ai could even cook up some flattering words.

He thanked Yusheng and both men shook hands. As he was about to leave he spoke. "Take care of your woman. I saw her with girls at Star hotel few days ago."

Lifen and Xiao Ai:"..."

When did he start to gossip. "You..." he pointed at Xiao Ai. "Come in. Fast."

After they left, an awkward Lifen tried to say things to save herself.

She tells him what his wife is up to and the next thing is to do implicate her.

"You seem to be enjoying while I was working Psychiatrist Long. The night is still young. Shall we leave?"

"I just remembered my brothers wanted to see me."

"I believe all your brothers are happily married except one who is currently out of the country. Get in the car!" He commanded.

Meanwhile....

"Hubby I can explain.. I wanted to come home earlier but...you see let me explain."

Gu Bojing crossed his hands. "I am listening. Explain."

Xiao Ai swallowed hard. " Right the thing is we had to see someone for the new case that had been assigned to us that's why."

He cocked his head to a side to get a clearer view of her neck which had become slightly red. "Is that your explanation?" She nodded. " then I suppose you must have another explanation for drinking. You smell of beer Mrs Gu."

Xiao Ai covered her mouth and put more distance between them.

Just one feet....but he stood rooted to the spot. Staring at her.

"That...I had a drink while we watched the match." She confessed.

"You watched the match at the home of a person you were supposed to interrogate?"

"At the home of someone you were supposed to interrogate." He completed and she sighed wearing a pitiful expression.

"Go wash up. I cant say mad at you with that face "

She scurried upstairs and ran to the bathroom. Making sure to lock it. She knew what she went through yesterday. She dared not try it again.

After she was done, she went to study to placate her hubby.

"Hubby...I didnt do it intentionally. I am sorry."

He placed the laptop aside and made her sit on the table directly infront of him.

"No problem. Why arent you sleeping. You must be tired."

Xiao Ai held his hands and stared at them." You wanted to talk."

His heart skipped a bit. "It can wait. He kissed her knees."

Xiqo Ai stopped him. "I think we really need to talk. You sounded serious. What was it you wanted to say?"

He took a deep breath rubbing circle on her exposed tigh. How tempting.

"Mrs Gu, remember the night we met at the club?"

Xiao Ai flahsed him a smile. "The night where I drunkenly asked you to marry me and you shamelessly agreed?"

He smiled too. " I like you very very much Mrs Gu. I really Like you. Very very very much."

Xiao Ai froze for sometime. Staring into his eyes. Her chest was starting to feel stuffy. She held her chest and started to pant.

Gu Bojing handd her a cup of water. "Are you okay?" The more he patted her back, the more her heart skipped and her stomach felt funny.

Was this it? This man...anywhere. anytime. He had no idea the effects he had on her.

He has always had that power. The power to affect her emotions.

"Are you okay now."

She managed a yes in a whisper. "Thank you."

"What happened?"

She took deep breaths before talking. Adjusting herself on the table.

"It just felt kind of overwhelming."

Gu Bojing laughed. Naive Xiao Ai was fun to tease. " Saying I like you very much made you feel overwhelmed. What if I had said I love you? How would you..?"

She jumped off the table. Gu Bojing immediately sprang to his feet.

"I...I need to go to bed. I am sleepy. "

He held her back. " I am sorry. I went too far. Dont be mad."

She stared up at him with red eyes. " I need to sleep. I am very tired."

"Xiao Ai..." his tone was pleading. " I am very sorry. Really. Dont be mad at me. Please."

She took a deep breath and forcefully freed herself from him. "Dont be sorry. You will make me feel sick."

He stumbled backwards before composing himself. " I didnt mean to...really dont be mad. Please."

"DO NOT BEG ME!" she shouted.

He was shocked. It was first time since their marriage that she raised her voice at him.

She looked just like she did in the past. It made him sweaty despite the air conditioning.

Xiao Ai i wiped her forehead and stared out through the window. "You always do this. Beg me. Why? I...I dont even do the right things sometimes. But you are always begging me..why?" Her voice was small as though she had been tired with the world's troubles.

Gu Bojing moved closer and she stepped backwards. "I am sor..."

"Dont..." she raised a finger staring into his deep orbs that were glistening with sadness. "Dont beg me. It always makes me feel guilty. I need to go go bed. "

"Xiao...I..." he tried to find words but couldn't. He could only watch her back as she walked out of her room.

Was she walking out of his life now? He felt like the past was repeating itself.

Xiao Ai dumped her tired self in bed and raised the covers over her head. Silently letting her tears fall.

He is always like that. Begging her.

She thought she could pretend it didnt happen. Pretend she didnt know him and start afresh but her monsters were eating her. She had been too bad and she knew it.
