Soul Shard Captor Chapter 204

This author needs to eat. Which means that if I am to continue writing SSC – seriously writing, with new chapters nearly every day – it needs to put my bread on the table.
Unfortunately, relying on occasional donations of a few very kindhearted and generous people is not cutting it and my publisher keeps asking when I’m going to start putting my chapters “behind a paywall”.
Thus, in hopes of a better future, from the next chapter onwards, every chapter will be locked and will need free passes/coins to unlock.
In the future, some of the previously free chapters might also get locked. So if you want to reread SSC, or have friends that are not up to speed with the current release of SSC, now is the time to read it.
Another change that will occur due to the switch to premium, besides the obvious is that I won't be able to leave author notes. Since SSC is published here not through Inkstone, but through my publisher (whose integration with Webnovel is lacking), I can’t leave author notes in the author notes section. I can technically include the notes as part of the chapter text, but since the chapter pricing is calculated based on word count, you’d end up paying for author notes, which I don’t want. Thus, I will only be able to leave an author note at the bottom of the chapter if it is very short and wouldn’t increase the price of the chapter. Otherwise, if it is a longer author note, I’ll leave it as a comment on that chapter. If you see it, please upvote it so that it reaches the top of the comments section.
If you are coming to read SSC here from other platforms, keep in mind that due to the previously mentioned poor integration between Webnovel and my publisher, I also won't be receiving notifications of new comments on my novel, so if I don't respond to your comment it is very likely I didn't see it. I generally only check comments on the recent chapters.

Lastly, if you are one of my supporters with a high enough donation (6$ or 7,000 Ink), you will be able to continue reading SSC on my site (lucypandora.com) in the future without having to unlock anything. You'll also be able to read extras unavailable anywhere else. If you are not a supporter yet, psst, you might not need to pay to gain the mentioned benefits because there are also free ways to get your hands on it. Even if you aren’t interested in the juicy extras, you might want to consider becoming a supporter, because gaining access to locked chapters like this is significantly cheaper than if you paid for them with coins.
If you guys are unsure whether the experience of reading SSC on my site would be satisfactory, just head out there and see for yourself. I uploaded several free chapters on there too, so you check out the reading and commenting experience. (Yep, the reason why chapters had been slow for a while now is precisely because I've been working on my site and preparing for the switch to premium.)
You can also see a detailed comparison between my site and Webnovel at lucypandora.com/platform-comparison/
If you want to see all the details about why I need your support, how to support, what you get in return, and how to access your benefits, check out lucypandora.com/how-to-support/

Wildcards: The Dread Captain
At the District One Invitational, a rookie eSports team defied all odds and reached the finals. Their underdog story and humble beginnings elevated them to worldwide acclaim. Media corporations dubbed them, The Paragons. With their main competition eliminated from the tournament during the semifinals, the rookie team sailed through the live finals and won by a landslide. Their prize was to become the first ever players in the most exclusive VR game yet, Abidden. The Paragons never celebrated that semi-final victory. They lost a friend in that match, who never appeared online again. Ten years later, the gaming landscape has changed and Abidden with it. Helena is the last remaining Paragon. Her team now consists of celebrities, influencers and musicians. Abidden has been reduced to a shadow of its former glory, but is the most streamed and viewed game in the world, despite having only a handful of players. None of this matters to James Sylvester. Finally out of hospital, things aren't good for James. He's found himself crippled with medical debt, his gaming licence has been revoked and he's permanently lost his place in society. He now spends his days competing in illegal slum arcades to manage the repayments. When a high-profile job comes along, James gets temporary backdoor access to his blacklisted gaming account. After reactivating it for the first time in ten years, James receives an invitation that could change his life forever. Disclaimer: This story is in no way or form associated with the works of George R. R. Martin and has no link to the popularised series, Wild Cards. This is a LitRPG story of my own creation that shares that name.

Reincarnated as a Demonic Entity
I was roused to my senses by the smell of rancid meat, and met with an endless nothingness. The only thing I could use to know I was conscious was the smell, and the strong desire to instill fear unto others. ---------------------- I've always thought I was haunted. Ever since I turned six, things began to move around on their own, but this usually only happened when I was alone. However, when I turned eighteen, whatever it was got violent. It threw things at me, rather than around me, and it began to whisper to me when my loved ones would die. It never told me to end my own life, it just kept forcing me to live in fear, threatening to kill my family, until one day it must've been satisfied with its fill of fear. I died, only to be given a rude awakening. I had no stairway to salvation, only a highway to damnation.
