"Good morning, dear."
This time, I was graced with only about an hour of watching the sleeping face of my beloved before her eyes slowly opened up.
"Morning…"
Humming lightly as she cuddled even closer to my chest, Eve quickly closed her eyes once again, as if unwilling to let go of her current dreamy state. Feeling her soft body all over my skin, rather than trying to molest her in her sleep, I simply coated my arms around her, pulling Eve even closer into my embrace.
"Aren't we supposed to wake up by now?'
Brushing my fingers through he soft, silky hair of Eve, I could feel her body moving ever-so-slightly on top of me as if she was tyring to playfully pin me down to the bed. Just from this alone, I could tell that she clearly wasn't happy with the notion of moving out of the bed… Or rather, that's what I thought before the small movements of her body turned to real convulsions.
"Hey, are you okay?"
Sensing that something wasn't right, all my drowsiness of the morning vanished in a single instant. Pulling myself up, I moved Eve's upper body along with me, hoping that more natural position would sober her up.
"I'm…"
Barely capable of squeezing those few sounds, Eve rested both of her hands on my chest, trying her best to overcome the shaking that already took over her body entirely. Yet, this fight was lost even before it began.
"Agh!"
Screaming with an unnatural voice caused by sucking the air in instead of letting it go as she voiced her fear out, Eve suddenly pushed herself away from me, rolling on the bed only to hang her head over its edge and start barfing directly on the floor!

"Is that…"
In one instant, all the moments when I was wondering about certain important matter came back to me. Yet, instead of focusing my mind on guessing whether I was right or wrong, I instantly moved towards my love, grabbing her hair and moving it out of the way of her mouth. Using my other hand to gently massage her back, I could only wait for my beloved to completely clear her stomach, unable to help her in any other way.
"I'm sorry…"
Only after the convulsions of her body completely stopped did Eve manage to squeeze some additional words out of her mouth. Predicting how sorry state she would be after the unpleasant moment, I jumped in with a cup of wine that some of the servants of this place prepared before we even moved in to the room.
"You have nothing to be sorry about."
Taking the cup from my hand, Eve hastily gulped its entire content down, only for her face to twist in an unpleasant grimmace, indicating that her stomach wasn't ready to accept alcohol so soon after failing.
Thankfully, my beloved managed to force her will on her body, holding the light liquor in for long enough for its warmth to dispel what I was already nearly sure that was nothing else but a morning sickness.
"I must've ate something bad recently…"
Still clearly unwilling to acknowledge what was the real reason behind her current sorry state, Eve attempted to find some excuse for the situation.
"I didn't want you to see me puking… I hope it didn't break your bubble…"
Hearing how she was already starting to put the blame on herself for some imagined problems, I realised that it was most likely another symptom of what could be growing inside her belly.

"It's okay. Nothing much happened. I bet you will see me in the exact situation once we will be finally free enough to get into drinking… But more importantly…"
Using a random piece of cloth that just so happened to be within the reach of my hand, I wiped Eve's face clean from the remaining puke and snot. Using the tiny bit of my magic to bring up the water from the nearby bail to properly wash her face, I couldn't help but feel my heart ache at how adorable Eve was when she allowed my hands to clean her face.
Sitting on her knees with her legs slightly angled all the while she was leaning forward to make it even easier to carress my face, Eve was practically unconsciously seducing me to ravish her right here and right now. But in the current situation, as alluring as her naked and hot body was, there was something far more important than my natural drive to satisfy our carnal needs.
"Dear… I think we both know what does this state mean. In fact, I suspected it for a while already."
Instead of pulling her towards myself, I moved forward on my own knees, quickly moving close enough for Eve to have no other way but to accept my tight embrace. With my hands caressing her back, I could feel her rapid heartbeat on my chest, indicating that she could see what kind of words were coming.
"I know that I'm late with it and all, but I hope you will forgive me."
Eve's heartbeat increased, as if she just ran through the entire maraton with her entire power and cultivation sealed off.
"Right now, I'm nearly certain that you are carrying my child. As such, I need and want to ask you one thing. Even though it won't change much, I still want to hear it from you directly, after failing to do my duty to ask this question in advance."
Taking a deep breath, I suddenly realised what I was about to do. Yet, there wasn't even a single hint of hesitation anywhere within my mind or soul. Even though I kinda went with the flow, went with what my emotions told me to do, I had no other choice but to admit that asking her this one, important question was actually something I longed for myself.
"Eve Katenari. I might lack the name or the house, but I hereby ask you to become my wife, and the mother to all the kids we will have in the future. Would you do me the honour of spending the rest of your time with me on your side?"
Maybe it was the emotional instability that a pregnant girl like her would have, or maybe she was actually moved by my words, but as soon as Eve understood what I was attempting to say, her eyes filled with tears.
"I don't have any ring to seal our agreement, so for now, we will have to do with just the verbal promise. With that, could I please have your answer?"
Raising her shaking hand to place it right on top of my reached out hand, Eve looked me in the eyes and nodded her head, doing her absolute best to swallow her tears in order to reply to my question.
"Yes."
