"You are really going to the continent?!"
Despite how obvious from all my question it was that sooner or later my path would lead me to the mainland of the area when Celleria heard the confirmation directly from my mouth, she was still quite surprised.
"Yeah. As soon as I'm done skimming these books and manuals in here, I will be going to the continent. Why are you so surprised?"
While initially, I considered her to be a potential guide of mine, if she turned out to be too slow to connect such obvious dots, I would have to reconsider taking her with me. After all, unless she was smart enough to realise that no powerhouse on the continent would be capable of stopping me from doing her harm if she were to attempt something funny, taking her along would be too risky.
"Well, I kinda knew it already, but still, hearing it from you in person… I wanted to go back ever since a few years ago when I completed my task! It's like a dream come true for me!"
Looking closely at her face as she explained herself, I could see that she was most likely telling the truth. Obviously, without forcing her to speak her mind with my charm ability, I was unable to check whether she was a natural-born liar. Still, I didn't consider going to such lengths to be necessary or required.
"Okay then, back to the topic. What else should I know about the continent and its culture?"
Dropping the hook for the conversation, I stood up from my sitting place and started grabbing the books and scrolls while listening attentively to Celleria's recounts. Opening the texts only to infuse my hand with a bit of magic before scrolling through the entire volume and moving on to the next one.

One by one, the valuable books were moved from their previous, chaotic piles that seemed as if Celleria threw them inside her study without any regard for their antiquity value, to neatly stacked columns on the previously empty part of the floor.
"Hey, are you even listening to me?"
After a few minutes, the fact that I didn't pay her any attention irked Celleria's wrath. Turning around, I expected her to be angry, yet to my surprise, all I could see on her face was a huge pout.
"... factions. As such, it's of vital importance to keep one's allegiance in mind while looking for any job opportunities. Did I miss even a single word?"
Not bothering to hide a smug smile from my face, I looked at Eve-like female before turning my attention back to the books. Even if she were to say something about how disrespectful it was to let her speak without at least looking at her while she lectured me, I simply couldn't care less.
With how many scrolls I had to go through in this room alone, even the fact that it would only take me one or two seconds to mark them off didn't alleviate the pressure from the sheer number of the scripts that were present here! And when I sneaked a peek through the illusionary wall back at the main library hall, the literal mountain of books that were still there managed to make me depressed in a single moment.
But there was nothing I could do about this fact. If I wanted my visions to be as wholesome as possible, I had no other way than gnashing my teeth and working diligently for once!
I was quite sure that just by investing a neat sum of my attribute points, I could upgrade this librarian tool and improve the rate at which I could put all this data into my database. But after bringing all my attributes to their current maximum, I was aking to a beggar in terms of coins, with only a measly hundred or two remaining in my profile!

After about two hours, I was finally done browsing through all the manuals stored in Celleria's study. With just a glance at the separate database compiled by my tool, I could understand why every single one of those books was shining brightly in my energy vision!
It was hard to infuse a simple paper of parchment with energy in a way that would allow this inanimate item to store it for an extended period of time. Despite that, when the content of the writing was profound enough, there was a considerable chance that over time, the book would develop its spirituality.
Even though the most enlighted scroll that I found in the room was at the measly level of soul hazard, when one realised that it was still a lifeless object, lacking not only any means to cultivate but also a will to do so, it added a different, more profound meaning to how it was able to reach this stage. Even back at sword sect, a lot of cultivators failed to achieve it through the years of focusing themselves on cultivation alone!
The fact that in this room, only a few of the scrolls were below Energy Surfacing level was the most significant proof that the knowledge gathered on its pages were as impressive as it could get!
"Anyway, I think that's enough of your lecture for now. Seeing how many books I need to go through here, it will take me a few days before I will be finished. Do you need anything? Food, cultivation materials, a better bed? Since I'm considered a saviour of this entire island, ask for whatever you want within a human reason."
While my generosity towards Celleria was bound to startle her, considering what position she was in, the fact that there was even the slightest chance of Eve's blood flowing through her veins, elevated her in my eyes way above anyone else on this island with the single exception of Pengu.
"Well… I'm not going to lie; you surprised me here… Do you think you could provide me with some enrichment pills? With how busy I was with my work here, I only managed to build enough momentum to crush the bottleneck, but never had the chance to facilitate it and do this last required step."

The Hunt
Cecily's blade swung, hitting its mark as always. The man's arm fell to the cold grass of the prison with a familiar thud. He let out a blood curdling scream. A warning to the rest. Stay away, the Hunter is here. That's the name they'd given her, the Hunter. After she cut off the man who tried to rape hers masculinity, they stayed away. She'd made it clear anyone who tried to touch her would be hunted and slaughtered. Cecily kneeled down, pushing the man's face into the dirt so she could use his back as a seat while she trifled through his belongings. "You're hurting my ears," she told him, no remorse in her voice. "Quiet down before I really do kill you."The man but his lip, well aware that she wasn't lying. Sobs shook him, making for an uncomfortable seat. She, however, didn't particularly feel the beed to kill him. It happened, not often, but it did. "Oh, hush up," she hissed, taking out a bag of rations with her metal hand, "it doesn't hurt that bad."With her good, human hand, she dropped the plastic bag of food into her own bag. She pushed up, off the man back. As she was about to walk away, bag slung over her shoulder, brushing against her autumn colored braid, she turned back to him. "Consider yourself lucky," she said, no hatred in her voice, there never was. "Consider yourself lucky that you didn't do anything stupid. And even luckier if one of the scum bagged criminals in here feel a little light in their hearts and help you. Consider yourself luckier if you die there."With that, her old black and white Nike sneakers carried her off into the brush of the huge prison.
