Falling For Miss Captain : LOVE Vs DUTY Chapter 143

"Your Highness, the Crown Prince is here with his men! We are surrounded!"
Prince Alonzo's face turned pale at the information. How was this possible?! He furiously turned to Yelena who was now smiling at him with barely opened eyes. Was she mocking him?!
He instantly flew into a rage. Losing control, he rushed to her and choked her. "What is this? You know everything, right? Is this why you're so confident?" He bellowed, tightening his grip on her neck.
Ivan quickly stood beside him. "Your Highness, we don't have time! You must leave this place. I will handle the rest. Please leave." He pleaded with the Prince.
"Damn it!" Alonzo roared and roughly withdrew his hands which was followed by the coughing of Yelena. She struggled for air to breathe.
"Don't you... hear what he said? You're... surrounded." Yelena glanced at Alonzo nonchalantly. "You're doomed, Alonzo Vasari."
"Shut up!" Alonzo growled as he raised the cane in the air and hit the Captain on the head with quite a force. Blood rolled down the side of her face yet she still stood in her place. She won't be able to hold it much longer anymore!
"Your Highness, you must go!" Ivan pleaded with Alonzo once again.
Having no other choice, Alonzo threw the cane and tried to rush to the door but he instantly froze at his place. Felix was entering the place with his men!
With an undeniable anxious face, Felix stormed inside with Matthew and the agents. His eyes swept around the warehouse right away, searching for his fiancee. Then he saw her a few feet away, being bounded by a rope and blood at the side of her face! Yelena's head was glued to the floor and that made him more anxious. At the sight, he felt an excruciating pain in his heart. Was he too late?!
All guns were pointed at the four men, including Ivan and Alonzo. Ivan and the two men instantly pointed their handgun at the Prince and his men but they were completely outnumbered! Even if they gave their all, they won't get out alive!
"Surrender, Alonzo. It's over." Felix said to his cousin. He tried his best to hide the pain of the betrayal but... it was not easy!
This man was his cousin! They grew up together in the palace. Why the hell was he doing this?!

"You're wrong, Felix. Your woman is still in my hands. If you take even a single step forward, I will kill her." Alonzo shouted, walking backwards. Then he stood beside Yelena.
Felix glanced at Yelena who didn't make any movement. Was she unconscious? Fear crept into his mind, making him clenched his fist. "If you dare touch her, you will regret it for the rest of your life." No. He won't allow her to die! If he lost her, he will never be able to be the same again! He won't be able to go through it!
"Why?" Felix muttered. "Is killing Cara not enough for you?" For a split second, his gaze shifted to the one corner and a little change in his eyes but no one noticed it.
Pointing at Yelena, Alonzo stared at his cousin with hatred. "She makes you happy. I will kill everyone who provides happiness in your life. You don't deserve it." He grunted.
Was this the cousin whom he knew since birth? Felix wasn't sure anymore. Were all those years a lie? He wasn't good at expressing himself but he loved his cousin sincerely. Why did he do this to him?
"Was everything an act, Zo? Is this your true self? Are you always this evil?" Felix asked. He wanted to know why. Why his cousin even have such a sick mindset?
Alonzo sneered at Felix. "You have no idea how many unhealed scars I have ever since I was a young boy. Our family members and the people are the ones who raised the monster in me." For the first time, pain was seen in Alonzo's eyes.
The time Felix was waiting had come. Lexus who was entering through the window without anyone noticing was now standing just behind Alonzo. Ivan and the other two were too fixated on pointing their guns at the two men and they failed to think of the window.
Lexus nodded and he quickly grabbed Alonzo from behind, easily winning against him. He wasn't the legend of the Edeladon Army for no reason!
While Ivan and the two men were distracted by the Brigadier's action, the agents shoot them on the leg or hand. They were instantly caught the next second.
"Let me go!" Alonzo shouted and struggled to break free but Lexus was more than firm. Pushing him to the floor, he holds him in place.

Felix quickly ran over to Yelena and released her from the ropes that bind her. Just like he was afraid of, she was as good as unconscious! For the first time, he saw the wounds on her back and gritted his teeth.
"Lex, please take her to the hospital. She needs immediate treatment." He said, turning his head to his cousin.
Lexus raised a brow. "What about you?" He dumbfoundedly asked.
"I still have to talk with Alonzo. Take his men with you for interrogation. Eight agents will return with you. Please hurry." Felix uttered.
Turning his head to the agents, he commanded, "She is my fiancee and the future Crown Princess of our country. Make sure that she reach the hospital safely."
"Yes, Your Highness." The agents responded as they bowed.
With that said, two agents replaced Lexus in holding back Alonzo. Lexus carried Yelena and the agents hold Ivan and the two men, taking them out of the warehouse. Now, Felix and Matthew along with Alonzo and the other two agents who hold him back were only present in the warehouse.
With two agents holding him down on the floor, Alonzo struggled and glanced at Felix as he gritted his teeth in anger. "What are you planning to do?" He growled.
"I want to hear it from you. The reason why you turned to a murderer monster!" Felix grunted, narrowing his eyes at his cousin.
"You really don't know?" Alonzo smirked as he stared at his cousin with contempt. "Ever since we were young, you receive all love and attention just because you are the heir to the throne. Our grandfather only loved you. All our family members and even the people adored you. I was always left alone, neglected and unloved."
"I'm the true heir to the throne, not you. If my mother didn't refuse to be the Crown Princess, the one who will be the Crown Prince today is me! All the affection and privilege that you received; they are all mine." Alonzo spatted, meeting Felix's eyes.
Just that? Felix never longed for the throne! If he didn't feel a sense of responsibility, he might already refuse to be the heir! He wanted a simple life. That's all.
"If you have told me that you want to be the heir, I will surely do all the necessary things to make it happen. I never want the throne. As you said, I'm the heir only because your mother refused to take over my father's place." Felix uttered.
Did the mere greed for the throne really take Cara's lives? Did Yelena suffer just for that? He couldn't believe it!
"Is that why you killed Cara?" He asked. He could barely suppress his anger!
Alonzo laughed at his question. "No. She rejected me and chose you while the only thing you did was hurting her. Do you know that I love her more than you did? I loved her first."
"She did nothing wrong!" Felix snapped. "How can you kill that innocent woman? Love? You are not capable of loving anyone."
"She made you happy and I hated that!" Alonzo barked. "Do you know how much I enjoy seeing you grieving over her death? But when you met Yelena, you started smiling again. That's why she must die too!" He grinned from ear to ear like a psychopath he was.
"You're crazy!" With pain and guilt swallowing him, Felix was so tempted to shut up the mouth of his cousin forever! Why was he so blind? Why did he never saw his true colours?! If he realized it sooner, Yelena won't suffer and... Cayden will still be alive!
Thinking of Yelena, he felt a sense of urgency. She was injured on the head. What if it was severe?!
He narrowed his eyes at Alonzo who was still putting on a psychopath smile. He can interrogate him later. "Everything is over, Alonzo. Your crimes will be judged by the law without any special treatment. You will surely pay for this." He whispered, firmly gazing at him. At his words, his cousin's lunatic smile slipped.
"Matthew." He called for his right-hand man who was standing a step behind him.
"Yes, Your Highness."
"Make preparations to send him back to Edeladon. The press and the people shouldn't get a grasp of this news until it's time." He ordered.....

After spending an unsavory amount of time in hell, our protagonist finally manages to escape the place that had kept him captive for so long... again. Unfortunately, even after plotting and planning for years, he ends up in a place not much different from the burning and agonizing Tartarus he once had to call home. Guts, blood, and carnage start to reign over Earth as soon as he set foot in it, much to his dismay. What use is it to cry over spilled milk, though? Tired of the monotony of endless torture, he steps into the world intending to have as much fun as possible. While others might try to raid the Orc Lord with as many people as possible, why not challenge him to an arm-wrestling tournament? The power of friendship will surely be on his side. Why hide from the big, bad wolf in one of your houses if wearing camo in plain sight should have the same effect? Now, making friends and going on adventures would be perfectly fine, if it wasn't for the fact that he hides a few more secrets than one might think at first. This is a complete rewrite! Due to being unsatisfied with the previous version, I have decided to work the story up, beginning from the older chapters! Version 2.0 includes: - enhanced writing and editorial skills - additional information and aspects to characters - minor deviation from storyline and improvements
