The Next Day
Yelena was amazed when she received a text from Colonel Maverick while she was sitting in her office. The Colonel was asking her to meet at 7 in the night. He said that he had something to tell her.
They were supposed to meet the next day. His one week time will be over so he was to fulfil his promise. Though the Captain didn't expect to meet him today, she was more than curious to know what he would say. So, she agreed to meet him without reluctance.
It was 1 in the afternoon when she received another unexpected call. But she still answered the call.
"Hello." She greeted as she put the phone next to her ear.
"Hello, sister-in-law. Are you busy?"
It was Prince Alonzo with his usual mischievous manners. He was sitting inside the car which was parked near the entrance of the base of Rayvix Special Forces.
"Not so busy today but one thing. I'm not your sister-in-law, at least not yet." Yelena calmly said.
"There's not much difference. You will soon marry my cousin." Alonzo mused. "Then if you are not busy, would you like to hang out with me? I'm in Silveren but I'm so bored. I don't know anyone here."
"I doubt that, Your Highness. You are famous for being friendly and easy-going. You will surely have many friends in many countries."
Alonzo chuckled at the response he received. "Come on! Don't be so cruel. You can come and see my work which is currently exhibited in the GM Art Gallery. Just an hour. I won't ask for more."
Yelena sighed at how similar the cousins were. They were too adamant and stubborn! "Fine. Let's go and see your work. At what time?" She asked, finally giving in to the adamant cousin.
"I'm near your base. Just come out and I will take you there." A victorious smile escaped Alonzo's lips as he stared at the campus of the base. It will be quite fun!
"Okay. I will get changed first. Wait a minute." Yelena ended the call and rose from her seat. She had no matters to deal with for today, so she can just leave early. Besides, she also needs to meet Colonel Maverick and she must prepare for that.

She had many things in mind but Alonzo's evil intentions didn't cross her mind even once! She quickly gets changed and walked out of the base. She can just pick up her car later.
"Sister-in-law!" Prince Alonzo put his head out through the car window and waved at her when he saw her.
Yelena felt anxious when she saw him. What if people see him? Rumours were the last thing she wanted! Wanting to stop the childish Prince as fast as possible, she rushed to the car and quickly hop in.
"What are you doing? People will see you!" She scolded. What an unpredictable Prince!
"It's fine. They will find it out soon anyway." Alonzo simply replied, smiling at her anxious face.
"If it's possible to delay that by even just a day, I will always try my best to let it happen," Yelena said which made Alonzo shook his head at her.
"It cannot be that way forever." He commented and told his driver to start driving.
Yelena stared out of the window, thinking of the words Alonzo said. She suddenly realized what the Queen said to her. The latter told her to prepare herself but she was so occupied by other things.
All at once, she felt something wrong with her body. She couldn't sit straight as if she had lost all her energy. She holds on to the car door and shook her head, hoping to arouse herself but to no avail. Her eyes shut gradually and she lost consciousness, her body collapsed to Prince Alonzo who was sitting beside him.
"Sleep well, sister-in-law. It will be your last sleep during your life." Alonzo whispered in her ear.

Felix was standing in his office with a stupefied face. He glanced at Matthew with his eyes wide opened. "What do you just say?" He asked, pressing his hands against the desk.
"I got the news that Cayden was found dead just half an hour ago. The other guards brought him to his family yesterday. They were supposed to leave the city today evening. But when our men go there to escort him and his family, he was already dead." Matthew reported apologetically.
Felix lowered his head, his eyes fixated on the desk. He hardly squeezed the edge of the desk with his hands. This was not what he imagined!

"Your Highness." Matthew took a step forward, worriedly staring at the Crown Prince.
"What about his family?" Felix asked. His suppressed anger was evident in his voice.
"His family are safe. They said that Cayden stepped out early in the morning but he didn't return even when it was noon. Our men look for him and found his body on the side of a road. It is not far from the place where the family are currently staying. Besides, the road rarely has a passerby." Matthew informed the Prince.
Felix was overwhelmed with anger and guilt. He clenched his fist and his fiery eyes still glued to the desk.
"Your Highness, is there more traitor among us? The enemy knows so much and this doesn't make sense." Matthew assumed. He finds it hard to believe that the enemy knows all their movement. Was there a spy among them?
"I doubt that. But there is one more possibility." Felix stood straight and looked at Matthew. His eyes resembled the eyes of a ferocious beast. "The enemy is near than we thought. He knows everything I do."
Matthew raised a brow. "Do you suspect anyone?"
"I don't know," Felix muttered. Thinking of Cayden, his blood boil in anger. "I will expose this person no matter who he is."
Even if Cayden betrayed him, he was still a reliable friend and guard for the Crown Prince. Hearing the news of his death, he felt like a spear penetrated his heart! It pained him so much!
After standing still for a few seconds, Felix spoke up again. "Make sure to check out his family. They should be safe no matter what." He paused before he asked, "When is his funeral?"
"Tomorrow at 9 in the morning."
"Send him off with honour. I will attend the funeral." Felix said as he sat down.
"I will make preparations." Matthew bowed and left the Prince's office.

Yelena slowly opened her eyes. Her vision was still blurred but she could tell that she was in an unfamiliar place, a warehouse maybe. It was more than dark! What time was it?!
Her hands, legs and body were bounded in the chair, making her unable to move. She was kidnapped?! Damn! How did this happen?
She tried to recall what happen and the last thing she knew was herself sitting in Prince Alonzo's car. That's all she knew. Was something wrong with her memory or what?!
She was a soldier with many experiences and she knew better than to make a noise. She didn't see anyone around her and if she makes a sound, it would only alert her kidnappers.
Trying to free herself from the ropes that bind her, she struggled but to no avail. She was only draining her energy. What was she supposed to do?
Soon, two men whom she never saw make their way to her. "Who are you? Why are you doing this?!" She growled but she didn't get a response at all.
Quietly, one man holds her so that she couldn't move while the other injected something into her veins. She struggled but the rope and the grip of the man was no joke!
"What are you doing to me?! Who are you?!" She yelled and glared at the two men but they didn't utter any word. Instead, they simply walked out of the warehouse again.
Time slowly passed by and Yelena could feel that something was wrong with her. Was this the effect of the thing that they injected on her? All at once, she felt very tired. She could barely open her eyes and her body felt numb and weak!
"Did the drug take effect now?" When she suddenly heard a man's voice, her eyes swept around the warehouse but it was too dark. She can't get a clear view.
She heard a footstep that was coming in her direction. At a distance, she saw a man who was talking to her as he approached her. "You will feel tired and weak. You will barely open your eyes but you won't fell asleep. That's the effects of the drug."
Yelena finds the voice so familiar but the tiredness that she felt made her unable to think clearly. A few more seconds and the man was standing right in front of her now, revealing his face.
"Hello, sister-in-law." Prince Alonzo narrowed his eyes and greeted her with his usual playful smile.....

Are we talking about the same planet? (Reader discretion is advised; Contains Graphic Language and Potentially Excessive Swearing) *¹ Carioca = demonym of someone from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. *² humble and/or hardworking Cariocas = not necessarily mythics, ordinary ones actually exist. *³ precious = inasmuch every living planet is precious. Editor's Note: Someone disable his permission to edit the draft on UnityDocs, please! Hello, I'm McKing and I aim to write an original story with elements I've never seen put together before. Feel free to point out any mistakes you see — I'm not a native speaker, so I'm sure a few will pass me by. Sci-fi; Humor; (Brazilian) Urban Fantasy; faint shades of LitRPG. **Be warned it has a bit of an (absurd) slice-of-life beginning though the story is being subtly (I hope) worked on and eventually shifts gears (a bit). I planned to say that from the beginning, but I forgot to add it.** I hope that you enjoy it and that I can grow as a writer with your contributions. No Fixed Update Schedule. My inspiration comes in bursts and so will the Chapters. Sorry if that displeases you (I love regular updates too), but I'm afraid that's the best I can do for now. Keep in mind that it is a work in progress and things can eventually change a bit - I'll try to always note the changes. Sorry for the bad cover, it was the best my sorry skills could do! I hope you enjoy it,Mcking
