Falling For Miss Captain : LOVE Vs DUTY Chapter 100

Yelena was so confident that it made the Prince even more intimidated!
"You can't be serious! I don't even have much time left here." He retorted but the woman keeps on looking at him with a sweet smile.
"Really?" He asked again with a bewildered face.
She finally nodded her head. "Yes. I'm serious here. So serious." She giggled a little but maintained her composure very soon again.
With a soft growl, he turned his head away and sat still at his place. Now, his face was full of displeasure yet he didn't say anything. He didn't even get to tell her that he will be staying for one more day.
He helplessly sighed and turned his head to her again to take a look at how she enjoyed herself. The moment he did that, he took her by surprise. She pressed her body against him and captured his lips!
It was too sudden that he was frozen for a while and could only blink in surprise. When she pulled back, she saw his dazed expression and smiled.
"What -" He couldn't finish his words as she placed her finger on his lips.
"You're still not allowed to talk. Only I get to talk tonight." She smiled sweetly once again.
She then leaned forward and kissed him one more time. He was about to touch her face but she caught his hands before they could reach the destination. This time, he pulled back and looked at her with a confused face.
"You're not allowed to touch me." She reminded him. "But that doesn't mean that I can't touch you." She added.
He nodded with his gaze never leaving her and leaned a little backwards, pressing his hands on the couch like an obedient little kid. His action made her smiled in satisfaction and braced his neck before she leaned in for the third kiss.

"You're lying to me, right?" Ella observed Arias who was sitting next to her in a car. Both of them drank, so they called a driver to drive them home.
Arias nodded his head. "Felix's gaze told me that he truly longed for your friend. It was a nonchalant one but I saw through him. However, I really meet my mother." He tilted his head to her and showed her an appealing smile.

"Okay. If it's for them, it's fine." She decided to let go and Arias schedule for the next day crossed her mind. "At what time will you depart?" She asked.
"At 2 in the afternoon. I need to attend the report meeting before noon. You and others are also supposed to be there." He informed her.
"I briefly heard about it. But why are you the one who will be attending the meeting?" Ella finds it strange the very moment she heard of the meeting, much more like an ambassadorial role. "I thought Colonel Maverick was supposed to attend this one."
It was an important responsibility and usually, one of the youngest elites officers with high rank are handed this task. In that part, it should be Colonel Maverick who was considered number one.
Arias slightly smiled. "I'm not sure." He reached out his hand and rubbed her head. "Don't worry too much. I only have to go there and spend a few days. I will be back very soon."
Ella forced a little smile and shifted her gaze to the windows. She had a feeling that something was not right but what could it be? She had no clue.
After dropping off Ella, Arias went straight to his home. When he reached the gate of his family mansion, he saw someone sitting next to it.
He gets off his car to take a look at the person. When he walked towards the man, he noticed that it was none other than Colonel Maverick.
"Maverick, what are you doing here?" He asked as he stood before him.
Sawing Arias standing before him, Colonel Maverick stood up but he didn't say anything.
Arias sighed at his behaviour. "If you don't have anything to say, I'm going in. You should go home too."
Just as Arias was about to walk past Maverick...
"Are you happy? Now, you have become the best." Maverick said but he didn't look at Arias at all.
"Don't be ridiculous. What makes you think that way?" Arias asked. His voice was cold which was very unlike him.
"It must be great to be you. You can easily have everything without even trying hard. While I have to betray even my conscience." Maverick enunciated, his eyes full of anger and jealousy. At the moment, he didn't resemble the capable and honourable Army Officer at all!

"I don't know what you're talking about but let me remind you. That's the path you choose. You cannot blame anyone for it." Arias firmly spatted each word, showing his contempt for the man standing in front of him.
The two used to be friends from the same batch but it was Maverick who distanced himself from Arias. Now, they were worse than strangers. Maybe because they were always compared which Arias didn't care. But it was not the same for Colonel Maverick who came from a poor family and struggled in the world's cruelty, unlike Arias.
"Do you also think that the world is unfair? If I was born in a great family like yours, I won't have to go through such things." Maverick stated with almost a chuckle. He was drunk and maybe that's what made him lose his mind.
Arias shook his head in disappointment. "What's wrong is your mindset, Maverick. Even if I were you, I would never choose to live the way you did."
His words made Maverick lose his cool. He gritted his teeth and sharply glanced at Arias. "Don't talk like you know me, Arias! You don't know anything about me! Unlike you, I was never given a choice." He shouted.
"How would I know when you never say anything to me? Even when we were friends, you never talked to me about your problems or hardships! Tell me. Did you ever consider me as a friend, just for even once?" Arias asked. This time, his eyes were filled with pain and sadness.
It was never easy to lose a friend but when that exact friend decided to take the wrong path, the pain was doubled! The pain was combined with hatred and it was a heart-wrenching pain, even for a grown-up man!
"Even if I tell you, will things be any different? Admit it, Arias. From the beginning, our world differs so much and even if our friendship lasts, we will never understand each other." Maverick uttered.
"Stop making excuses, Maverick. And don't say that you're not given a choice. That's the talking of a coward. We all have a choice. When you prefer one choice over another, you just said that you don't have a choice." No matter how much he thought about it, Arias couldn't understand his old friend at all.
"Are you still the Maverick that I used to know? How could you change so much?" He added in a low voice.
"You can look down on me all you want. After all, you're the favourite future son-in-law of my master. You're way above me while I'm just a dog." Maverick said and forced himself to let out a laughter.
Arias immediately grabbed Maverick on his jacket. "What are you saying? You should explain so that I could understand." His intimidating gaze landed on the drunk Maverick.
Maverick simply smiled once again and freed himself from Arias grip. "I'm leaving." He said and walked away.
Staring at the disappearing form of Maverick, Arias stood still with a tightly clenched fist. He had some clue of what the old friend was saying but he couldn't jump to conclusions, much more like he refused to. The doubt and suspicion were already formed inside him a long time ago.

Ira’s Faithful
[On Hiatus due to health reasons] Synopsis: Fate has plans for everyone. There are many paths one can walk and many nodes one can unlock. Yet all mortal souls only start with one node. Elise Anker has two first nodes. She doesn't know why and the only one that could answer is an angry voice in her head. She hears it rarely and the voice is as helpful as a sword is effective against a Leviathan. She strives to become a mage, a knight or maybe something else entirely. The future is uncertain and unless she finds out what her nodes mean, she will never know what she wants to become. But her nodes won't unlock and the angry voice tells her that she needs to find a worthy foe to kill. Disclaimer: This is a work of fiction.
