Falling For Miss Captain : LOVE Vs DUTY Chapter 88

Days passed by quietly in all the countries. It had been three days since Felix returned to Edeladon. He had work to handle there and he told Lexus to informed him if anything happens.
In Silveren, Lexus was investigating Gina's suicide attempt with the help of Fabian. Lord Philip and Sophie took care of Gina in the hospital.
Meanwhile, in Agrana, the soldiers were preparing for the attack as the D-Day had finally come. After more than a week of preparation, they were all set to wipe out the base of the enemies and return peace to the District.
It was already midnight when Colonel Arias briefed them on their plans for the last time. The plan was to capture the base before sunrise.
Two routes could lead them to the base. One was the normal route while one was a forest where people rarely walked. But the plan was not that based on just that. The enemies would surely expect them to take the forest path as it was the best choice to have a successful sudden attack.
When it comes to a battle of wits which concerned people's lives, the best choice was never the smart choice. The opposite was never good either. Something totally unexpected was needed. That's why Colonel Arias and the two Captains decided to take a path which would be beyond expectations though it would need more efforts.
"The truck will wait for the first group in around three kilometres from here. Take your weapons and ready to start the mission. Remember, your life is more important than the success of this mission." Colonel Arias said as he glanced at the soldiers standing before him.
"We can have another try if we fail but life has no second chance. Let's make sure that we won't have to send home the bodies of our comrades, not again." He encouraged them while telling them to stay alive at the same time. Enough with losing a comrade, especially in this foreign country!
The two Captains and the other soldiers immediately did as were told. They divided into two groups and took their assigned paths.
Their first priority will be to rescue their four comrades who were captured by the enemies. They had already confirmed that they were still alive. Maybe the enemies keep them alive, hoping to exchange them with their members who were also captured by the soldiers. Little did they know that the captives were already handed to the Agrana Government! They were only fooled.

Colonel Arias, Captain Ella and the other five soldiers take the forest path. The purpose of this was to make a two-sided attack while having a great chance to rescue their comrades without casualties. But there was also a high chance that the enemies wouldn't saw this attack coming.
Reinforcing and launching an attack in just a week was never easy. Besides they chose past midnight for the time of the attack rather than straight after sunset. It was not a common occurrence.
The enemies were also at high alert ever since that failed attack a week ago. But they were not many in numbers and they can't ask for reinforcement from their allies as the Agrana Army already blocked all their paths. With some of them still struggling with their injury, they were at a disadvantage, to begin with.
Captain Yelena, Lt. Morris, Lt. Gary and the other three soldiers took the path which leads to the city. They will walk three kilometres and after that, they will ride the truck which will lead them to another route. At the beginning of that road, there were some soldiers from Agrana who will help them and back them up in case of any emergency.
Fully equipped in combat dress and a heavy gun on their hands, they reach the place where the truck was waiting for them after walking for half an hour. They used the truck of the villagers not to draw unnecessary attention and suspicion.
After twenty minutes ride, they finally reached the route which will lead them straight to the base. They were greeted by some soldiers who were on standby.
"I'm Captain James Feric of the Agrana Army. It's a pleasure to meet soldiers from our ally country." The young Captain from Agrana greeted them and reached out his right hand to Yelena.
"I'm Captain Yelena Arista of the Silveren Army. Thanks for the greeting." Yelena holds the Captain's hand and gave him a handshake.
"It's an honour. As you requested, I and the other three soldiers will join this mission. I already brief our soldiers on the plans and we are all set for the operation." Captain James informed her.
"That's great to hear. Our leader is in the other group." She glanced at her wristwatch and then the road. "It's 1 am now. We agreed to start the attack by 2 am. So, I think we should leave right away." Yelena opined to the Captain.

"I got it. Please lead the way and we will follow you." Captain James said in a respectful tone. Though they were in Agrana, this mission already belongs to Silveren the moment their soldiers sacrificed their lives.
With that said, the six soldiers from Silveren and four from Agrana took the route which was only suitable for walking and not for vehicles.
The other group led by Colonel Arias had already reached the enemy's base when it was 1:30 am. Their plan was to hide in the forest which was just metres away from the enemies base until the other group reached there and launched the attack. With their green combat dress, they fitted well with the green bushes and small trees.
As soon as Captain Yelena's group started the attack, they will rush in from the other side and rescue their comrades at the very first place. If things go as planned, the enemies will struggle with the two-sided attack and it will just be a matter of time before they succeed.
When the first group led by Captain Yelena were just metres away from the base, it was 1:50 am. At a distance, they can see some of the terrorists who were standing guard. Those guarding the base were three men with a gun on their hands.
Blending themselves among the darkness and the green nature, they exchanged glances and decided to do what they always did. But they must wait until 2 am as it was the agreed time.
"This is Phoenix. Group 1 have reached the base. I repeat. Group 1 have reached the base. Asking permission to launch the attack. Over." She connected to Colonel Arias who was on the other side of the forest.
"This is Myth. Permission granted. Over and out." Colonel Arias responded from the other line.
He gestured the soldiers to be ready and raised his right hand which was clenched. The moment he released his hand would be the time to barge inside.
Lt. Morris, Lt. Gary and Captain James carefully make their way to the guards who were standing in front of the base. After sawing the gesture from the Captain, they all moved in unison to take down the enemies. Emerging from the darkness, they moved swiftly and quietly to hit the men on the head with their guns. It was a success as all the three enemies were rendered unconscious all at the same time.
Dragging away the bodies of the enemies that were knocked out cold, all the other soldiers slowly make their way to the base. Waiting for at least one of the enemies to come out, they hid behind the walls and trees while darkness became their most useful shield. Meanwhile, the other team on the other side were holding their breath, waiting for the enemies to take the bait.
After what seemed to be forever, one man stepped out from the base and was stunned when he noticed that his friends who guard the base were gone. He rubbed his eyes and checked twice, feeling it hard to believe what he saw!
And that was the moment the soldiers were waiting for. Captain Yelena deliberately made a sound which attracted the man's attention right away. His eyes darted to the direction where the Captain was hiding. He tightened his grip on the gun which he was pointing at the direction where the sound came from.
His eyes keenly observed the area but he failed to look at the ground. While he was slowly walking towards the wall where the Captain was hiding, his legs felt something. He halted at once and glanced around his surroundings before he finally lowered his head to look at the ground.
Three of his friends who were supposed to be on duty were lying on the ground and he was even stepping on one of them!
"We are being attacked from the route to the city!" He shouted at once and turned around to return to the base, not even knowing he just perfect the soldier's plan.
Before he could reach the entrance to the base, Captain Yelena emerged from her hiding place and aimed her gun at the man. Just before his feet reached the entrance, she gunned him down with a single shot!
Her gaze was merciless when the enemy met his demise at the bullet that came out from her muzzle. Her lips curved into a slight smile when she commanded, "Attack."
