The news about the success of Operation Peace Day dominated all the news channels and newspapers throughout the country. The internet was also flooded with articles about the success of the mission.
More than two weeks had already passed since Yelena met her old friend but it still troubled her every day.
As expected, her health condition had greatly improved ever since she came to this villa and with the Prince who was always there for her, it made her recover faster than expected.
But these days, Felix was always zoned out as if something was troubling him. Maybe something happened to him which she was not aware of and it made her worried. But she never questioned him. She wanted him to tell her when he was ready.
She was not so confident in herself. She was not good at words like he did and she wondered if she could even provide him with relief.
As always, he never showed it when he was with her but whenever he was alone, he would blankly stare out of the window or the floors without even moving. Why did she always have a feeling that he resembled a broken man?
Yelena shook her head when such a feeling entered her mind. She rose from a chair where she was currently sitting on her room and make her way to the door.
It was the same time when Felix opened the door to her room and walked to her. "How do you feel today? Any unusual pain?" He asked her.
"No. I'm completely fine." She said to him with a reassuring smile.
"Then do you want to go to the city today? Alonzo will be participating in an art exhibition held at the Shiny Art Gallery. He wants us to attend the event but I told him that it would depend on your condition."

"Really?" She stood beside him and grabbed him on the arm. "Then, shall we go?"
"Okay. We need to prepare right away if we want to reach on time."
With that said, the couple dressed up themselves with some clothes they bought in the town a few days ago and leave the villa with their car.
The drive to the city took at least four hours by car and it was such an exhausting ride for a person who just started to recover from a gunshot wound. But the Prince car was more comfortable to ride than most of the cars which was their advantage.
After a long and mostly quiet ride, they finally reached the Shiny Art Gallery which was quite crowded with guests. As expected of a prestigious exhibition, most of the guests were from upper society from all around the world as the artists were the best from different countries.
As such, many guests from Edeladon were also there and... every one of them will recognize the Prince in a single glance.
"I think we are in trouble," Yelena said as she pulled in Felix to one of the restrooms. "If we show up together there, it will be the same as announcing our relationship to the whole world." She whispered to him.
"Why? I think it will be fun." Felix said and jokingly ran towards the door but the swiftness of the Special Forces Captain was no joke. She grabbed him and stood before the door, putting an end to whatever idea the Prince had on mind.
"Do you want our photos to headline every newspaper tomorrow morning?" She crossed her arms, staring at him with a displeased face. Will he even stop being so childish?
"You already headlined once, why not twice?" He teased her as he took a step forward to her. His gaze fixated on her and nothing else.

Yelena was a bit lost. But when she gave a quick thought, she realized that the first time she headlined the newspapers was the time when the media reported her engagement to Maurice. It made her scoffed at the playful man before her.
"Will you just cooperate and save trouble for the last? I still think it's too early for me to say goodbye to my freedom." She stated with a victorious smile.
She saw through it all. Once the media reports her relationship with the Prince, they won't let her be. In no time, her identity will be revealed and her quiet life will be gone forever.
Even though she was willing to go through such things if it's for this man who loved her unconditionally, she wanted to keep it secret and delay it as long as possible.
"Well then. Do you want to be alone at this event? It will be very boring." Felix shook his head as if he was trying to scare her. He had no intention to go against her wishes but it had been a while since he teased her around and maybe... this was a good chance!
Yelena looked at the man who gazed at her with a wolfish smile. She knows him too well, so she won't be easily fooled!
"Who knows? I may even meet some decent man as this event is filled with refined men from the upper society. Have a great evening here." Her hands trailed from his shoulders to his arms with a seducing smile on her beautiful face which made him blinked in surprise!
Felix's eyes trailed to the door where the woman left as soon as she bewitched him. Did she try to make him jealous? He smiled to himself but the smile disappeared at once when one thing came to his mind.
She dressed up so beautiful today! What if some men actually try to make a move on her? And... he won't be able to do anything because of the eyes that will be on him. Won't that kind of situation be some sort of hell for him?
He inwardly cursed himself for being so thoughtless. Why did he even bring her here? He thought that they would be having a good date in this gallery but how did it end up as a single date?
Single date? Was there even such a thing?
When he suddenly realized that he should keep her within his sight no matter what it takes, he hurriedly fixed his composure and stormed out of the room with his eyes searching for the woman who was supposed to be his date for the evening.....

You know, I am not too sure. I love MMOs. I played them, quit them, joined up and repeated the cycle. They are fun! They are a massive waste of time but so are most games. Do I want to read about someone else playing them? Sort of?The advent of VR and the possibility of VR someday becoming so immersive that you can't tell them from reality sets the imagination on fire. What if this could be life? But most stories fall short. At the end of the day the protagonist hangs up his VR helmet and goes to have dinner with his mom and dad or other family and it becomes meaningless. It's like the story that ends because the main character woke up and nothing you read matters.There have been some books that explore the concept of the intersection of reality and total immersion VR. Enders Game is a classic. There were a few others that escape me but they exist, however, the cross between the game and reality is weak.So what if the game was real? The technology needed for total immersion VR is so advanced that by the time we reach that goal technology should have naturally evolved to include several items. You must have direct neural input. You simply can't have a total immersion (all senses and perfect presence) experience without this basic prerequisite. If you have direct neural access, you can probably do neat things like feed knowledge and skills directly to that person. You can undoubtedly do many horrible things as well. Muscles are controlled by the brain. If you control the brain why would you let the body just sit there and rot? A person that sits unmoving for 24 hours a day will have their body whither away just like a coma patient. However, if you control the brain you could control the muscles. On a basic level, this would be isometric impulses, working muscle group against muscle group to avoid atrophy. Taken to its logical conclusion you would be able to gain muscle mass and program muscle memory. The flip side is that you could remote control their body... but let's not go there. So what would people do if it were real? Well, they would probably limit and regulate it since the drawbacks are very obvious. Even if you look at the basic aspects of this you can see some negative possibilities. Look at the Sword Art Online anime. Personally, I think they missed the boat by putting a bomb in the VR helmet. Do you really need a bomb when you have direct access to the brain?So what kind of events would you need to have a situation where the obvious drawbacks haven't been explored? Maybe a society where the advancement of technology has so far outstripped the explorations of its applications that ignorance was truly bliss? Okay, so I had to put in an alien invasion to kickstart the premise, but that was just one of the possibilities.
