Falling For Miss Captain : LOVE Vs DUTY Chapter 12

It was late in the evening. Prince Felix was all alone in the huge Guest House, recalling about the things that happened in the day.
He felt relieved now that he finally finds her. Though he was still upset with her sudden disappearance, he cannot resist the urge to laugh.
During the past two days, he looked for her at almost everywhere; but the military didn't even crossed his mind! But he was not the one to blame. Who would have thought that the amazingly gorgeous and gentle woman he met would turned out to be one of the toughest Captains of the Special Forces? She didn't resemble one at all!
At that moment, he realized that the saying 'Look doesn't like' was absolutely true! He was completely fooled by her appearance; but he don't care. She already had a special place in his heart.
Then he suddenly saw her approaching him with her uniform. He was happy to see her; but her words and actions dampened his mood the next second.
Yelena stood in attention and again saluted the man. "I apologize for my improper greeting and actions today, Your Highness. I'm Captain Yelena Arista, the leader of Team Delta in the Rayvix Special Forces. Me and my team will give our all to protect you during your stay here. Nice to meet you, Your Highness." She greeted him firmly like a soldier should.
Standing in an upright posture, eyes front, with no facial or body movements and no rolling eyes; she stood firm in a salute position like a well trained soldier she was.
Time passed by second by second until it became a minute. Yelena stood still as she was not given any commands.
After what seemed to be forever, the Prince finally spoke up. "At ease." He commanded.
Then Yelena released her hands and stood at ease.

"I thought you wouldn't come." Prince Felix glanced at the wall clock and continued. "It's quite late now."
"I'm a soldier, Your Highness. I cannot disobey the order of my superior." Yelena replied in a formal way.
"Do you mean you came here because you are ordered to? Even though you're unwilling?"
"A soldier never chose his or her own mission, Your Highness. I'm trained to do whatever I'm ordered to do. Now that I have finished my greetings, I won't disturb Your Highness anymore. I will excuse myself." Yelena turned her back at Felix and ready to leave the room until she heard him calling her real name for the first name.
"Yelena."
Yelena stopped right away.
"Why did you leave without any words that day?" Prince Felix rose from his seat and walked towards her.
When Yelena stared at Felix right in the eyes, she could fee how hurt he was because of her disappearance. She really wished to clarified herself; but she didn't want to give him hope.
She was on a mission now and just like her Commander told her, she needs to put aside everything else.
"As I said before, Your Highness; I'm a soldier. Being at a place when I'm needed and be on stand by all the time is a part of my duty." Yelena hinted the truth without saying the details. "Nothing else can be more important than my work."
"Do you know how much I searched for you? I was desperate and afraid that I would never find you." The Prince voice remained calm all the time. He was never so patient before.
During the past days that he spent searching for her, he kept on telling himself that he would surely make her pay if he could find her. But now that he did, he couldn't bring himself to be harsh towards her. She was so precious to be treated like that!

He looked at Yelena right in the eyes. "Do you even think about me just once before you left like that?"
"No. I'm sorry. Please forget everything that happened in Belden. As of now, I'm Captain Yelena Arista; not Macy. And you're Prince Felix Valestra; not Austin." Yelena replied in a cold voice. "Please have a rest." She turned her back at him once again; but the Prince's action took her by surprise.
Prince Felix hugged Yelena tightly from the back; wishing to stop her from leaving him. His arms wrapped around her upper body, with his chest clashed onto her back.
"Don't leave." He pleaded with her. He was afraid that she would leave him again without a word like she did before.
He once had lost the person he loved; he didn't intend to make it happen again.
Yelena could feel the warmness provided by his body. The warm really comforted her.
How would it feel to experience his warm embrace every single day? If only she could become the one to experience it! She closed her eyes, feeling hurt by her hopeless imagination.
Yelena wished she could stay that way for a bit longer or time to stop at that moment, until she realized that the whole house was secured with CCTV and there would be someone who monitored everything through that.
"Please forgive me." She break free from the warm embrace and walked out of the room in a hurry, leaving the Prince in pain for the second time.

Yelena entered the quarter where she and her team members were supposed to stay during the mission. It was just next to the place where the Prince stayed. She then walked straight to the control room where one of her team members, Sergeant Calvin Fabia was alone.
Sergeant Calvin instantly stood up and saluted her. "Captain." He greeted.
"Forget everything you saw. I will explain it when the time comes." The Captain ordered the Sergeant.
Sgt. Calvin understood right away what his Captain was talking about. "Yes, Captain." He responded firmly.
She then left the control room, feeling quite embarrassed for what she just did.

Prince Felix was looking over some files in the study room. He was quite calm and composed despite what happened. It maybe because he had already made up his mind.
He will not give up easily. His decision might be different if she doesn't care about him. But he knew for sure that she felt the same as he did. She was just unwilling to accept due to their current situation.
He had many duties and responsibilities while growing up as the Crown Prince of Edeladon. He understood more than anyone how those things could held back a person. So he decided to take things slow.
He was willing to wait until she could accept him. He was ready to make her fall for him again.
After pondering for a while, he take out an old photo from the middle of his notebook. It was a photograph of him with a beautiful young woman. He glanced at the photo with a small smile.
"I finally find her today; but I also realized how big of a liar she was! She totally beat me at that." He muttered as he gently touch the woman's picture on the photo.
"I will not give up on her no matter what. So, if you feel sorry for leaving me all alone; help me from above so that I could win her heart and achieve happiness this time."

And it ended thusly just aswell, t'was the great Empire's deathknell. The crackling of the burning books, dangling corpses on rusty hooks. The yellow streets of Heabury proper, colored red with human copper. -? S.V, Scholar of Dawn.' -- Author note: Hi, SeV here. I'm not a fan of writing my entire story premise in the synopsis. For that, read the prologue and chapter 1. Suffice it to say that I think it's a cool idea and I already have a few things planned and a world sort of formed in my mind. I like Epic fantasy, lightnovels with OP MCs, Litrpg, sci-fi, any many other things. This story is written for myself, so it may include all sorts of diffent elements and character interactions and even experimental things that I'm trying out as a writer in order to improve. My intention with this is to pretty much post as I write, and acquire feedback from you folks in the process. I of course hope you like my story, but feel free to criticize anything since this is a project to improve myself. Even if it isn't strictly criticism, any feedback positive or negative is welcome since I am interested in what other people think of my writing style and what I can improve on. Since it's growing generically I'll be interested in your thoughts and speculations on future events and any suggestions moving forward will be taken into consideration. Hope you enjoy my stuff. - SeV
