The Ancient Genes Chapter 550

"What do you think you are doing?" Elly asked as she stared at Max.
The group had come into the cafeteria compartment to have dinner and Lesia was around with them too.
"What did I do?" Max asked as he looked at her. He didn't think there was any reason for her to be so upset about it. It was not like he did anything that he shouldn't have done.
"Didn't I say that you are not supposed to flirt with other woman?" She said while glaring at him. "I told you last time as well, I won't allow anyone else but Lisa."
Max sighed inwardly.
Why?
Why couldn't this girl think straight at all? Why was she even fine with such a ridiculous thing?
"Look, I am not flirting with her. Its just normal chat." Max explained it to her.
"Hmmn…doesn't seem that way to me though. It seems you two were having a good time," She said calmly while looking at him.
"That wasn't even my seat. You made me sit there and now don't give me that look. Not to mention, she is an Arcane supporter. I can't just ignore her or be rude like that and ignore her," Max said with a helpless expression. He actually wanted to say that she was his friend's mom but with Lesia sitting so close by, it was very likely that she might hear them.
'Hmmn..' Max suddenly realized something and brought his hand down the table before pulling a pen out of the spirit world. He then moved on to take the tissue paper and wrote on it for Elly to see.
After all, he really wanted to stop her. He was quite sensitive to sharp glares and this Miss had been giving him that for a while ever since he started talking with Lesia.

"Here.." Max passed it to her.
Janet and Lesia who were sitting opposite to them had already noticed the two talking all this while but they didn't say anything and kept looking at them with two different look on their faces.
Lesia looked amused while Janet stared at the two suspiciously.
When Max passed on the tissue to Elly, Janet's curiosity reached its peak and she was ready to interfere. But Lesia thoughtfully interrupted her and began a conversation with her allowing Max and Elly to talk peacefully.
Elly looked at the tissue which said, 'She is my friend's Mom.'
Her face twitched a bit and she looked at Max before raising her palm and asking for the pen.
Max obviously passed it to her and she returned with a message, 'Does she looked like your friend's mom? Do you have this kind of fetish?'
Even with a blond fold on, it was pretty easy for Max to sense the papers structure and make the words out and in case of confusion, he could always lower his head and take a peek at it.
And when he read the message that Elly had returned to him, he was dumbfounded.
In the end, he forced a smile as a vein popped up on his face. It was not like he could scream in this place.
It was obvious that Elly didn't believe him and why would she? How in hell did Lesia look like a mom? She was clearly a year or two older than them.
Max sighed and looked at Elly only see a worried look on her face. She was most likely thinking something weird about their future.
He immediately snatched the pen from her and hurriedly explained it on the paper. He was really afraid to let her imagination run wild like this.

'She doesn't look like my friend's mom. She is my friend's mom! She is the Mistress of the Barnes House! The Lady of Ander Barnes!'
Elly's face changed for a second and she looked at Max. This time it was all seriousness.
The two continued exchanging notes and Max explained it to her that she had runaway. And now he was supposed to keep an eye on her until the Barnes Lord arrived and took over. So, she could calm down as there was nothing to worry about. And he even asked her to ignore them and just relax.
Max wasn't a crazy to guy to go after his friend's mother after all. At least not when he was literally being forced into a harem and was having trouble handling one he already had in his hands.
Why the hell would he go for anyone else in such a situation and a friend's mother at that too!!
This was crazy!
In the end, Elly accepted it while still being doubtful about it a bit. Max could clearly see those eyes with suspicion in them.
He was just helpless and could only allow her to observe it with her own two eyes. But there was one thing which was really troubling him.
How the hell was he suppose to go on and talk about Andriel to her?
Even though he had said to Elly that they should take time and think seriously about their relationship, Max ended up getting caught in some weird sh*t and you know the rest of the story.
So, what now?
Was he supposed to say that he had made a decision and it wouldn't work in between them?
Pretend to play this game and say the same at the end?
Would she even accept that result?
This was really troubling.
'I will just talk to her about it once we reach Trinity, I can't keep her in dark and hold her down.' Max shook his head and sighed.
Now that he thought about it, wasn't it very random?
He heard that there love was sudden, but bro, literally, this was too sudden even for that….
If he hadn't identified Andriel's trouble and Lisa hadn't stepped in the room at the wrong time, nothing of this would have ever happened.
Well, it was not that he was regretting it after it was all done. But he couldn't help but accept that he was feeling the pressure being in such a relationship when he felt that he was doing the two wrong. He wondered how the King and emperors from long ago managed their harems and did they not have any guilt to even make one?
"Ah! You two finished all the tissues!" Janet said in surprise as she reached out to grab one.
Both Max and Elly came out of their thoughts and looked towards it and indeed the holder was empty. It was all gone.
Lesia couldn't help but laugh at it. It was indeed good watch young blossoming love. At least that was what it appeared to her. She had no idea that the topic of discussion between two was not anyone else but her though.
