The Ancient Genes Chapter 547

Lear and his team of three arrived near the Golem's den and landed on a nearby terrace of a high rooftop building.
"Are you fine?" Zeld couldn't help but ask when he saw Lear's face twitch in pain and blood leaking out through the corner of his mouth.
"I am fine," Leo wiped the blood off and nodded.
According to Axel, this was the place where he had seen the Golem last time. So it should be around here somewhere.
"I will cause the commotion around and draw the beasts out," Wendy said as she looked at Lear. She was the student of Ethera and was not any weaker then Lear apparently. She was known as the Wind General and stood above the Mark in the list of the Generals made by the commoners students.
Lear nodded at her.
"If you feel getting overwhelmed, rush toward the west gate. And here take this, use it if you have no choice and get away in time." Lear gave her the invisible cloak. Since she was a member of Ethera, there was not much trouble in trusting her as they had Mr. Cool in there.
Wendy thanked Lear and then moved out while remaining two went on there way and positioned themselves to act the moment she drew the crowd of beasts away.
"Boom!"
An explosion sounded away in the distance and soon the Rock Beetles guarding the place began to fuzz before moving out to check what was going on.
Lear and Zeld and looked at each other nodded.
Zeld then made the first move and went down towards the place. He was to keep an eye on the Golem and alert Lear the moment it came out.
Lear on the other hand, placed his hands on the floor of the terrace as sweat slid down his body. He just hoped that there wouldn't be any adverse reaction from what he was about to do. After all, he had already been enough reckless for the day.

"Grr!"
The building which already looked devastated as if having been gone through a long time, now began to shake and dust started to fall off of it.
A strange metallic noise spread through out the place as if some one was twisting plates of steels with brute force and cracks slowly began to spread on the pillars of the building.
"Bang!"
One of the pillars suddenly exploded revealing the metal rod inside it which had been bent in an unnatural angle before being snapped apart.
"Crash!"
Finally, the structure couldn't support itself and began to go down.
Lear started to feel dizzy but he still held himself and took onto the air with staggering steps. But he missed his landing and ended up crashing onto the ground.
'Where the hell is Zeld?' He thought as he raised his head only to see those two hollow eyes filled with a red hue glaring at him from the darkness.
"Thud!"
"Thud!"
The ground shook and Lear felt his body rise an inch above the ground with each slamming noise and soon the giant rock like figure of the Golem appeared before his eyes.
'Sh*t!'
Zeld was supposed to alert him if it came, where the hell was he!
"Roar!!!!!!!!"
Lear suddenly felt his ears bursting with that terrifying roar which almost send him flying away.
Suddenly the huge beast's body move and in front of Lear's wide eyes, it started to sprint in its all fours like a gorilla and with a leap, it came crashing down on Lear.
Lear tried to move but his goddamn body wasn't moving properly. At the moment of his need, Zeld suddenly appeared out of nowhere with a bleeding forehead and half of his upper body covered in a cement like mix. He immediately grabbed Lear and dashed away with all his might.

"Where were you?!" Lear screamed at him as he got onto his feet and began to sprint as well and two hurried towards the exit.
"The moment I entered the place, I didn't even realize that it was standing right near me. This thing just seemed like a natural part of the environment and I didn't sensed its presence until it covered me in this mix. I couldn't even make a sound," Zeld said with a helpless look on his face.
"Ahead!" Lear suddenly shouted and Zeld raised his head to see a group of Rock Beetle rushing towards them. It seemed the Golem's roar had alerted them.
Lear immediately grabbed Zeld and gritting his teeth, he circulated his barely left mana and took onto the air while avoiding the beasts.
The furious roars of the Golem sounded from behind as it rushed towards them and with a jump, it rose into the sky as giant spike conjured of earth appeared in its hand.
"F*ck!"
The two knew that if that thing hit him, they were gone for sure.
"Whoosh!"
The spike came piercing towards with them with a terrifying force.
"Sorry.."
Zeld heard those words from Lear and suddenly he felt himself falling towards the ground.
"Aaahhhh!!!!!!!" A terrifying shriek escaped through his mouth as he went crashing towards the ground while cursing Lear's 18 generations. Nine generation before and nine generations after which had yet to come.
Lear on the other hand immediately moved at the fastest speed as he let Zeld go and barely managed to avoid the attack. But the wind left as the aftermath of the spike rushing through still sent him tumbling around in the air as he lost his balance.
As he came crashing down towards the ground, Lear straightened his body and sped up towards to Zeld who was still screaming with his lips wobbling due to the air gushing against his face and his eyes were tearing out.
Luckily, the guy had spread his hands out and it had slow down his fall allowing Lear to catch up to him.
"Stop screaming!" Lear shouted at the guy as he grabbed the back of his shirt and placed both his legs on his back as if he was on a surfboard.
"What the hell are you standing on me for?" Zeld screamed as he turned his head to look at Lear.
"You wearing an armor?" Lear asked him.
"Yes! But it won't save me from the fall! Do something!" Zeld screamed in terror.
"Lucky for you! It seems that the armor is made of some metal ore!" Lear said with a smile as he took control of Zeld and his body started to slow down while descending.
'Hell yeah! I wanted to do this once in my life!'
"Damn you!!" Zeld scream when he realized what Lear was doing. Even though it was fun for Lear, it was definitely not for him. They were still going down with a considerable speed and Zeld could see the ground approaching with his two eyes.
It was scary as hell!

Now, after scientists have finally confirmed the console to be safe for humans, the game is to finally be released to the public. Life, the struggle for existence
What would happen when man had to, once again, fight for its own right to live? Would the evolutionary counterparts of our ancestors manage to life through the struggle for survival? What would happen to society if a new reason for living came up, other than the enjoyment of the well-built environment? A reason that could either unite or destroy humanity. This is the struggle for their right of existence. As earth and its inhabitants are faced with the fear of unknown danger and the peril of monstrosities, some will falter, some will die and some will live on to tell the tales of those forgotten. As reality dictates, most will be part of the first two groups and only a small faction will be part of the latter. *This is my first attempt at writing fantasy, so I do hope you’ll enjoy it. The story is one of apocalyptic nature, with gigantic monsters, unfathomable powers and also a critial view on humanity and what it means to be human. I will definitely try to stay away from any tropes that are not neccesary to write fantasy, as I thoroughly despise non-creativity. There shall be no harems, no unrealistic behavior and absolutely no standard scene of dimwitted bandits that try to rob whatever similarly rock-brained princess they encounter. The main character is not black and white, because no human is completely good or completely evil. They’re human, not some idealistic concept of what one is supposed to be. Enjoy!Warning: Tagged 17+ for the occasional strong language and violence, some mild sexual content can occur in the distant future.
