The Ancient Genes Chapter 546

Competition Ground, Capital.

Nathan grumbled in pain as he held his face. The punch really had hit him hard. But he just spit the blood out before looking towards Wilson as he picked his bow up and got back onto his feet.

To be honest, Wilson's attitude has annoyed him as well. It seemed there was really a need to determine a winner between them to settle this feud.

"Crackle!"

Threads of lightning sizzled around Wilson and the next moment, he rushed in. His speed had considerably fallen due to his injuries and so had his strength.

Nathan on the other hand moved in as well and he was no better than Wilson but the guy used his bow as a blunt weapon and smashed it towards his unarmed opponent.

Wilson immediately stopped and pulled his head back barely avoiding being smacked by the bow to his face.

It would have definitely hurt like hell if he got hit with that thing in his face.

Nathan didn't let go of the opportunity and pursued Wilson who continued to do his best to retreat and avoid getting hit.

Wilson usually used lighting to conjure his weapon as such a weapon could be controlled at his will and act like a part of his own body unlike a physical weapon but you can clearly see its disadvantage in situation like this.

"Bang!"

One of the end of the bow smashed against Wilson's side and Nathan smiled seeing his face contorting in pain. But Wilson suddenly grabbed the bow with one of his hand while gritting his teeth in pain and his other hand balled into a fist and smashed into Nathan's face.

"Bang!"

The guy staggered back and the grip on his bow loosened and it ended up slipping away from his hand.

Before he could properly balance himself and get back to the fight, Nathan felt a strong blunt hit to his stomach and his back immediately bent below and the moment it did, another devastating blow was dealt with the bow to the back of his body sending plummeting to the ground.

"Huff!" Wilson panted as blood slid the down corner of his lips and the next instant he came down onto his right knee. The hit he had recklessly taken had really done the damage and if not for the fact that he succeeded in stealing the bow from Nathan, the guy lying on the ground would surely been him.

"I can't move anymore," Nathan muttered as he laid on the ground.

The fight really had exhausted everyone and specially those people who had faced against the Commanding beast before and were still moving around without professional medical care. It was truly shocking and something to wonder about.

One could actually see it from the fight between Wilson and Nathan. The two were so exhausted that they barely had anything left to use their elements.

The fighter with better combat experience would be having the advantage in such situation when the two people lacked mana or had suffered internal injuries to let mana circle around their bodies for use.

And that had what gotten Wilson his victory.

"Its time for you to go," Wilson said as he got back onto his feet and walked up to Nathan.

"I will remember this Scarlet. I won't lose next time," Nathan said with a smile as blood came spurting out his mouth. But he didn't seem to care for it at that given moment.

"Sure, come any time you want. I will beat you up again," Wilson replied as he clenched his fist and smashed it down on him.

"Bang!"

….

On the other side…

August and Kain were still going on at it.

The two looked pretty beaten down. They had lost the number of times they had punched each other. But the situation seemed pretty clear to everyone.

Kain was barely standing on his shaking feet covered with wound and blood while August was no were near throwing in the towel. But it seemed he had taken in a couple of heavy hits as well which were clear from the bruises and traces of blood on his body.

After all, a Lion on its deathbed still a Lion and couldn't be compared to a an alive Hyena. There was a reason it was hailed as a King of animals. And Kain had now proved why he was hailed as the top genius of Nobles Houses just like it.

"You should better give up now, it will be troublesome if you get too injured to take part in the next competition," August said as he looked at him but Kain didn't reply at all.

It was only then that August realized that the guy didn't seem capable of hearing him at all and was close to blacking out. It looked like he was purely going on his instincts and will.

This really made August speechless.

Just what kind of crazy guy was he to have such obsession to winning?

Well, August didn't know that Kain had once swore to never lose anyone or anything in his life. A promise he had made to himself on the day he last saw his mother and witnessed the broken state of his sister.

The memories would rejuvenate in Kain's mind from time to time which made him obsessed with strength and victory.

When Lisa met with Max, he had actually investigated Max and after founding nothing wrong about him, he gave Max a green light. If not, Max would have been smashed to death by Kain when he had just arrived in Capital. After all, it wasn't like he hadn't done the same before.

"This guy is nuts, I will finish it here." August suddenly decided and with a shout, he suddenly threw a fist out with all his strength foregoing any form of defense.

"Bang!"

A punch landed on Kain's face and his head tilted backwards and when it seemed that he was about to fall behind, his legs suddenly seemed to have a newfound power and held onto the ground as he rose up from that position and threw a strong jab at August.

"I won't go down!" Kain roared as his eyes regained their light .

August's face twisted in pain but he finally seemed to have snapped and suddenly, a dangerous light shined through his eyes as he looked at Kain, "If you are going to go crazy then, I won't care about the consequences as well."

"Flare!"

Black Flames suddenly lit up on his hands as the frightening presence around August was replaced by a clam and serene one. The change was too drastic.

Suddenly, insect like creatures began to emerge out of August's body and within a minute it swarmed the area.

"I said in the beginning, you weren't my match in your current state," He said as he looked at Kain whose face had started to twist as a dangerous feeling rose in his heart. "Let me show you my True Spell.."

"Hell Inferno!"

The next instant, the insect like creature suddenly combusted and an explosion occurred with black flames rising high up into the air forming black mushroom of flames.

"Boom!"

...

When it all settled down, a huge crater was left behind with August standing in it with a haggard look. His face had turned black and his clothes had burned at places. He didn't usually used the spell as it wasn't under his full control and even now he ended up blowing the whole goddamn place.

If there were his teammates around, he definitely wouldn't have been able to use it.

"Thud!"

He suddenly fell onto his butt and breathe in relief.

Kain was strong.

Even after being injured, his punches still packed a lot of punch and had let his body aching all over.

'I need to hurry over to Lear's side.'

He tried to moved but his body wasn't obeying but he still forcefully dragged himself towards the destination of the final fight.
