The Ancient Genes Chapter 527

Max felt his world turn around for a second as the white light coiled around him. The next instant, he felt a spacial disturbance. It was a bit similar to Mr. Cool's ability but the difference between two was probably huge.
He could sense a huge amount of mana behind this white light playing a crucial role to make the teleportation possible.
This process definitely wasn't possible to be used in actual battle as no one would be able to spare so much mana for a single teleportation.
When the light faded, Max found himself standing in a room. He was quick on the move and had already pulled his blind fold above again.
He could feel a couple of figures controlling a huge formation in the room. On the other side, a man sat on the chair a bit higher to the ground looking down on Max.
"I don't think I was suppose to be out yet. Don't sat me that you made a mistake.." Max said as he looked at the man on the chair who was probably in charge here.
He was already on his guard, it was the Ancient Families here after all.
Max had been careful to not entered their radars but now, he was not sure if he had been found or not.
"You have already got your guard up. Not bad indeed. You are truly Zack's son.." The man said with a smile. This person here was from the Kingsman Family and one of the Lord's trusted aide. He had fought against Zack back when he had forcibly tried to enter the Academy grounds to rescue Max during his fight with Victor.
"You know my father?" Max asked as he looked at him.
"Well, isn't he famous?" the man asked.
"I doubt he is as strong as you." Max looked at him. This guy was really spooking him, he couldn't feel his presence at all. And he didn't dare to release his domain afraid that his spirit energy would be sensed and his identity would be out in no time.

"Well, too bad for you. You have been disqualified from taking part in the competitions any more…"
Max's expression changed and a frown emerged on his face, "What do you mean I was disqualified? I don't remember doing anything to deserve this."
"You are too strong to be playing around here. You realize it too don't you?"
"I almost died in there." Max said as he looked at him in disbelief.
"You need to compete with your peers, not the unbeatable monsters….the thing which would need the entire student body to beat got thrashed by less than 10 students because of your presence. Does that make sense to you?"
Max's face twitched but he still maintained his calm. Like in hell, he was going to let go of this opportunity to get the spirit shells.
"I don't remember any clause saying that you can't be too strong when I was signing the participation form."
"Is it?" The man looked at the person by his side and spoke, "You heard him, go and add it now. One can't be too strong. Anyone with a strength exceeding Expert Tier are not allowed in this competition."
"Y-You!!" Max clearly hadn't expected that.
"You will have your chance to speak. Come with me, you should argue with the people who took you out of the competition and not me…" the man said as he got up and with a wave of his hand, Max suddenly felt his body losing control. The next instant, he was already up above in the sky.
He couldn't even manage to catch a glimpse of the man's movement.
This man was definitely a Supreme Tier Mage.
….
Mage Association, Capital.
"Do you really think it's enough? You better give me some solid reason in your defense, Zatch?" The Lord of the Storm Family asked with a smirk on his face.
"You are in no position to say that to me. You all couldn't control your own people and ended up conducting experiments on children to raise a wielder and now you have the guts to say this to me?" Zatch sneered at them.

"Do you expect me to give that child to you to satisfy your curiosity?" He further said glaring down at him. "Remember one thing, if you dare to make a move on that child and I find out it's you, I will wipe your family out before the demons.."
"Y-You!" The Lord of Storm family obviously couldn't take that lying down.
Things had already gone above the level of being peaceful.
Everyone's face turned for the worse with Lord Zatch's words. He was usually calm, but you definitely wouldn't want to see him angry.
People immediately became tense when the two monsters burst forth in anger and a terrifying aura immediately surged out from them.
"Enough!"
An aged voice sounded and everyone in the room suddenly felt a hammer slam down on their body.
Lorenz Lord's expression changed as he felt his body became heavier, he could barely move himself.
Terrifying!
Even the Lords of the Ancient Families were not in a much better condition. No, it looked like they were doing way worse.
Their faces had turned pale and they had definitely recognised the voice.
The Lord of the Storm house looked the worst. The voice had scared the hell out of him.
He looked at Zatch only to see his lips curling up into a mocking smile and immediately realised that this b*starts had already known about it.
Those Half Dead monsters had come out of their grave. If one of them was here, then didn't it mean the rest had come out as well.
It meant that his own family's Progenitor was here as well. He was definitely screwed this time around.
As everyone was wondering what was going around, five figures appeared in the room and the pressure disappeared.
They looked very old and could truly be called grandpas and grandma unlike these people who really looked young for their age.
The Lord of the Ancient Families didn't dare to sit and immediately got up and lower themselves a bit.
The Lord of the Noble Houses unconsciously stood up as well.
No one dared to even let out a breathe.
A second earlier they had felt that tyrannical strength which was capable of crushing them like ants but now, there was no sign of it.
They might have thought of them as common old folks if not for witnessing that frightening strength earlier.
The five old people quietly took the seats left by the Lord of the Ancient Families and made themselves comfortable.
The old man with a long thin beard sitting at the place left by the Storm Lord, suddenly spoke, "Kids these days really say things, you don't expect them too…"
Storm Lord's face twitched but he still stood there with his head lowered.
"Who would have expected these people to turn into cats and mice….it wasn't like this before…" the old lady at Leviathan's seat suddenly spoke.
"It was a good thing that we took over nurturing the generation after them, otherwise they would have ended up just like these bunch of spoiled brats as well.." The old man at Kingsman's seat chimed in.
The five Lord's of the Ancient Family all had their faces contorting with each new remark made.
It was true though, their generation was like cat and mice. They were always watching each other and ready to bit if the opportunity arrived.
It was not like these before them and previously, the five Ancient Families really stood together.
Seeing that the situation could worsen if the next generation was allowed to grow under these people, the old monsters took a step out to guide the new generation which consisted of Max's Master, Stark..Arcane's Headmaster, William...Anna's Master, Ethena, Derek's Master, Leo Von and many other.

The Last Marshal
Weird West Fantasy Noir Once the Republic Marshals brought order to the chaotic lands along the Frontier, facing dangers both human and supernatural with ancient wisdom and a six-gun —but that was a long time ago. Destroyed by conspiracy and betrayal, all that remains of that secretive order is one nameless man on a trek though the West seeking revenge on the woman he blames for the Marshals' fall and his disgrace. When a visitor from our world joins him on his journey, they together must confront the horrors of a strange land, the mysteries of the past and the real meaning of their quest for justice. The world of Tellus is what 19th Century Earth would have looked like if the stories of Poe, Ambrose Bierce, Lovecraft and William Hope Hodgeson were real. History in this world moves slower. The old faiths persist and civilization never conquered the dark corners of the map, at least not without being inextricably changed. Technology and culture takes a little longer to evolve in this land, as people here tend to spend more time pursuing their elaborate revenge plots or trying to avoid being the next sacrifice to the Outer Gods rather than advancing science or statecraft. Imagine Cormac McCarthy by way of Edgar Rice Burroughs, though a little less testosterone-drenched than that description would imply. Three caveats: First, there are deep mysteries here, including how such a world came to be and who controls it. Second, this world is not wholly unconnected from our own. There is a historical point of divergence, but in the distant past. To paraphrase Twain: history in this world is not a repeat of our own, but it does often rhyme. And finally, this is not a setting that lends itself to happy endings.

Lost Things
"In this disordered continent, where everyone seeks to be the heroes of their own tales, there are still some rooms for smaller stories to breathe." "Past, present, and future—keep your eyes open, and see where they lead you to." This story follows three housemates’ lives: Carson Calding, Virgil Barion, and John Salore—onto their adventures of finding Carson’s past, Virgil’s present, and John’s future. Despite their clashing backgrounds and circumstances that forced them together, they’re definitely going to find the things they had lost, for sure. Each entire chapter will be updated biweekly. There'll be three smaller parts per each chapter. Note that this story was written to be an interactive one, with polls at the end of each parts deciding on what happens next. Though, the polls for this story won't be available on Royal Road updates. (I also upload this in Arcane Odyssey forum, and it's currently the only place where I open the polls and use the poll results from.)

A Generic Dungeon Core Story
When one falls… what happens? Do they just disappear into an endless abyss? Do they got to a final resting place to lay forever? Do they get to look down proudly upon the world from the clouds or look up in regret as they are burned and tortured? One man… person found out the hard way as he fell into a dark abyss after having surely died only to found himself awake again with most of his memories and knowledge blocked of as he was reincarnated into a 10ft cube as a small glowing sky blue orb…. This is my first actual foray to the world of webnovels as I’ve never wrote any stories before… *cough cough * edgy horny filled teenage fanfics do not count whatsoever *cough cough*. I am very new to the world of novels and I am not a native English speaker so expect a lot of grammar mistakes. The story will update on weekends on Saturday or whenever I feel like uploading as I do not have much free time and this is only a novel I write to improve my writing skills. What can you expect from the story? - Dungeons? Of course, this is the main theme of the story. - Multiple leads? Yes, there will be multiple perspectives from many different characters with at least 4 main characters. - Gamelit? The world is ruled by a system… that does absolutely nothing other than a way to view your stats and progression. - Murder hole? No, the lead character has a challenging yet fair view on how dungeons should operate, don’t get me wrong as he will still kill people if they are evil, careless or overestimate their abilities but don’t expect too much death as I feel that most adventurers would be smart enough to know their abilities especially when they have to do it themselves instead on relying on skills or the system. - Cultivation? No, the ability to gain power from sitting still and breathing never made any sense to me and it will be completely broken if the MC gets their hands on it so… no. - Non-human MC? Yes, they are a dungeon after all and yes, dungeons do get avatars but it is a specialized procedure that many choose not to do. Also, if the dungeon gets an avatar, no he will not be some wish giving demigod or whatever. - Magic? Yes, but it is very limited and down to the ground... from my notes... which means nothing - Art? Yes, I’m a hobbyist-artists so expect some art sketches here and there… I am poor so I do not have line art pens or tablets or adobe photoshop… also no scanners so… pictures of pencil-sketches it is, no coloring though since I am terrible at coloring. - Comedy? Yes, if you can call my bad attempts at humor comedy. - Likeable characters? Hopefully… especially since I accidentally made like... 60 characters … how I made 6 originals into 60?… I have no idea whatsoever… - Adventurers/invaders/delvers/etc…? Yes! My favorite part about dungeon core novels are when delvers delve into the dungeon and reading how they react, I will definitely flesh out the delvers and show how they operate more than usual hopefully. Hopefully you like the story, I will not have a patreon or paypal or whatever mostly because I’m under 18, thanks for at least reading this far and I hope that my writing is at least passable and you enjoy the story… if not then at least I got some writing practice in English.
