The Ancient Genes Chapter 526

A while ago…
Max stood at his place looking at the Commanding Beast as dozens of other Beast approached. They were most likely here on its commands.
"Bang!"
The debris suddenly flew away as Mr. Cool emerged from beneath. He was one of the quickest around and with his spacial abilities he had managed to take less damage than Max. Yet looking at him, one wouldn't say he was in any better condition then Max.
After Mr. Cool got out, a few more figures emerged from the rubbles with serious injuries.
Among them Bayu was the one in better condition.
On the other hand, Ren was the worst. But with his terrifying will power he was still holding onto his sword.
Aside from the people at the Celestials level, the rest were all wiped out.
"It seems we are surrounded.." Faryl said as he looked around.
The commanding beast was more than enough for them to handle and now it had summoned a dozens of beast as well. The only good thing was that it had ended up wiping its own groups of bats around in that destructive attack.
Still looking at the horde surrounding them, this really was going to be the end for them..
"Scree!!!"
The Commanding Beast seemed to have finally noticed the ants who had managed to survive and immediately charged towards them.
"Here it comes!"
As they were about to get ready for their last struggle, a figure suddenly shot towards the Commanding beast.
Max smiled as he moved towards the Commanding Beast and suddenly took off his blindfold, "Lets see if it works or not.."
The Beast who was in a frenzy suddenly stopped for a second as its eye met with Max. But a second was more than enough for someone like Max.
Max's fist hardened into rock and he clenched both his hands and smashed it into its nose.

"Bang!"
In front of the widening eyes of the remaining people, the Commanding Beast which had lost its ability of flight staggered a few steps back.
There was deep red mark on its nose where Max had struck and it definitely was bleeding.
The Beast roared in anger and opened its jaw to bite Max but Mr. Cool has already closed in and with flick of his palm, Max's body switched places with debris and which was immediately crushed to smithereens in its mouth.
'Tsk…its hatred is too great for my charm too work again…it isn't even lasting a second now..' Max muttered inwardly as he took out his spear and tossed the dagger in the air while controlling it with his telekinesis.
He then rushed towards the beast when its claws suddenly came slashing towards his chest. Max immediately moved but as soon as he did, its tail slammed into him sending Max flying into the distance.
"Bang!" Max's body crashed into the debris and blood splashed out of his mouth, "Damn, it hit really hard and why does a bat have a tail?!!"
At this moment, the group of beast which were encircling them rushed towards Max.
"Swish!"
A green blade of compressed wind suddenly sliced through the group of Ferocious beast's approaching Max.
Max looked towards the direction to see Ren's bloody figure with his sword raised half the way into the air, "I am not done yet…there is still fight left in me.."
He slowly took a step forward. His blade shone with a dangerous light as killing intent erupted from him making people feel as if they had been laid on a bed made of ice.
But his words were literally slapping other people's face if they gave in the towel now.
"I wonder if he realizes that aside from being humble he is arrogant as well…" Farly muttered as water burst forth from his surroundings and shot towards the group of beasts.

Bayu snorted looking at them before turning towards Max, 'Tsk..he really is showing off…'
He then shot forward and rushed towards the Commanding Beast as black winds began to coil around him.
By now, no one was willing to stay and watch.
They had divided themselves in attacking between the commanding beast and the horde which was surrounding them.
Max took on the Commanding beast from up front while Bayu and the other person whom Max was assuming to be from one of the Ancient families fought from either side of the beast.
The Commanding Beast ignored everyone except for Max who had already irritated him to death.
If it wasn't for it, who knew how many minutes the rest of these people could have held onto it for.
The fight continued and the situation began to turn unfavorable to them. They were already injured and the fight was taking a toll on them. Not to mention their injuries were increasing as well.
"Bang!"
As expected, Expert Tier weren't able to match a Mythic Tier beast.
The Commanding Beast's tail and claws swept as it took its eyes off of Max for a second and sent the smashed the two human flies sending them flying away.
Max immediately took advantage of the opening and rushed ahead. Flames and water burst out of his body as the Dragon and Phoenix collided into the Commanding Beast pushing it a dozen feet away.
The Commanding Beast's senses were sharp, it immediately fired a breath attack.
Max who was rushing in with his spear was immediately forced to retreat but he wasn't done.
As the Commanding Beast relaxed for a second, a dagger came straight crashing towards it's eyes from above.
"Shnk!"
A cry immediately escaped it's mouth but Max couldn't help but click his tongue in dissatisfaction seeing that the protective covering in its eyes had managed to block the dagger from piercing through.
He immediately kicked the ground and shot towards the beast. It was too good of an opportunity to let go.
The Beast still was tenacious, it's claws immediately came towards Max and caught him in the air.
'Domain!'
Max released his domain without caring for his spirit energy consumption and immediately raised its power to the maximum.
Getting cut off of mana was definitely a great blow for it. It's strength weakened and Max suddenly began to feel its claws stretching out in front of his strength.
With a roar, Max suddenly took a deep breath in and suddenly shot out a sharp compressed bullet of wind from his mouth piercing it's eyelids.
The Commanding Beast's claws immediately loosened and Max slid out of it claw landing on its eyes.
His hands immediately held onto the hilt of the dagger with both his hands and pushed it deep into its eyes before finally twisting it with a roar.
"Whoosh!"
Blood immediately sprayed out of it's eyes soaking Max from head to toe as the Commanding Beast's painful screeches terrified everyone.
It shook his head and banged it into the debris trying to get Max off but unfortunately for him, Max stubbornly held onto it even while spitting out blood and getting sharp shards of debris pierced through his body.
"Let me see how you deal with this…" Max smiled as flames and wind burst out of either side of his body before slowly creeping its way towards the dagger through his hands.
Even if it was a Mythic Tier beast, he was really curious to see if its brain would fry in his flames.
As Max was about to strike, a white light suddenly engulfed him and before he knew, his vision turned dark and the next instant, he found himself standing in a different place.

Someday, he might even – hatch? “CHEEP!?” Things to Know: -Cheep!? Will release on a minimum weekly schedule. -After a backlog of chapters, posting will slow, but in the interim you can expect a chapter a day up until roughly 25 chapters. -This story at times will potentially carry some heavy moments, but the tone is intended to be lighter overall. -There are invisible game-like elements in this story, but nothing so concrete as a dedicated gamelit novel. -I personally have some issues with anxiety, so I may or may not interact with the community a lot. I'll try if anyone has questions, but I can't guarantee that it'll be consistent. -MC is a non-human lead, and will never actually become human. Romance will potentially happen between side-characters, but not with the MC. -MC IS NOT THE ONLY VIEW POINT. I have to put that out there because people sometimes hate alternate PoV's in a story. None of them will be filler, and they'll be there only to give a little bit more nuance and meaning to the world that the MC has stepped in, or is about to be imminently important. I'll try to keep them down, but this also helps to prevent me from burning out getting trapped in one view. -Most of all, I hope that this story is enjoyable to you, and that you have a great time reading it! -Written by Michael Adams, Cowritten/Edited by Summer Kent
