The Ancient Genes Chapter 521

"Boom!"
Max looked towards the place of explosion where the smoke was rising and a frown appeared on his face.
He turned his head and looked at Bayu and Kain standing on his either side in the distance.
Even if Kain was a common enemy, he couldn't possibly lower his guard in the slightest towards Bayu.
On the other side, Ren and Alen were still engaged in a fierce struggle with neither of them being able to gain any advantage.
Aside from that, Max could sense several other battles occurring nearby.
It seemed they weren't the only one to have come to stop these guys.
But one things was really surprising.
It was Orca's move.
It seemed that they had almost deployed all of their people. He wondered what they were trying to achieve. If the Commanding Beast went on a rampage, the first to be wiped out will be Orca itself.
"Boom!"
"Boom!"
Another two explosions rang out and the earth quivered. It seemed that Wilson still couldn't entirely stop Norek from detonating the explosives.
"Scree!!"
A sky piercing screech sounded throughout the city and the next instant the sky turned red.
"Run!!"
No one knew who said it but everyone immediately moved. No one was foolish enough to stand there and get caught up in the breath attack of a Mythic Tier Beast.
Max saw everyone retreat, even Bayu and Kaij didn't dare to stand there with calm.
But this was the opportunity for him to get away. It was one thing if the attack was truly directed at him but these were just after effects of the attack passing by.
His body immediately began to burst with energy and the strong fluctuations from attack began to disperse on coming in contact with Max.
The next instant, he took a strong step and rushed towards the nest.

….
"Boom!"
"You crazy freak!" Wilson cursed as he kicked Norek aside.
He truly didn't think this girl would go crazy like this disregarding his attacks and detonating the explosives.
Wilson hadn't realised that his behavior was the reason that Norek had turned crazy.
"Boom!"
When another explosion occurred, Wilson finally couldn't hold back his anger. He aimed his trident viciously at her neck.
But Norek smiled as her hand behind her body came out and suddenly flung a bag of explosives at Wilson. Before he could react, flames erupted out of her body and she had already targeted it planning to explode it right in front and take Wilson along.
"Boom!"
The structure couldn't stand any longer and collapsed.
The Blood Eating Bats immediately began to clamor and fly all around creating chaos while the little bats who were unable to fly had all been crushed to their death.
This was the largest nest in the city and from the thousands of deaths, only God knew how many points Orca had accumulated in a single shot.
"Bang!"
The rubbles suddenly exploded and Wilson climbed out of it in a miserable state.
Blood had dyed his clothes and there were severe burns on him as well.
"That Crazy person.…" He really wasn't feeling good about it. Even though he managed to eliminate one of their strongest, it still didn't help much as the nest was destroyed.
At this moment, a giant shadow appeared above him as a huge pressure descended almost forcing Wilson down onto his knees.
But how could this arrogant guy just kneel because someone pressured him?
Wilson looked above and saw those red eyes filled with a heavy murderous vibe glaring down at him. He couldn't help but feel suffocated as if he was being drowned in blood.
"What the hell are you glaring at?'' Wilson suddenly roared after snapping out of the illusion. Lightning covered his body and he took a heavy step and threw the trident at a shattering Speed.

The trident struck the beast's huge abdomen and shock ran through its body. Yet it acted as if it hadn't even felt it.
Wilson couldn't help but smile, 'So, this is a Mythic Tier Beast…'
At this moment, the Commanding Beast suddenly opened its mouth and let out a strange low pitch sound.
"Bang!"
Wilson felt an impact on his chest and a sweetness gushed up his throat.
"Sonic Waves…" Wilson muttered as another impact landed on his body and he staggered a few more steps back as the blood spewed out of his mouth.
It was not only him but everything in the surrounding was being slowly crushed.
A group of Blood Eating Bats suddenly dove towards Wilson at the Commanding Beast's instruction.
Wilson immediately tried to defend and killed a few of them before he was bitten and his face contorted in pain. There were just too many of them.
"Get lost!!" Wilson roared and his mana exploded outwards zapping the group and frying them alive.
The attack almost caused Wilson to go out of breath. He was really exhausted.
Several figures had already arrived near the area and were all eyeing the Commanding Beast.
If the creature really did go on a frenzy, then they would probably join hands and try to deal with it.
But for now everyone took a wait and watch stance and didn't move to help Wilson.
Suddenly, the Commanding Beast once again opened its mouth and the reddish-black ball began to conjure in its mouth.
The people around felt a chil running down their spines but Wilson who was right in the path of the attack was the one bearing it's true bunt.
At this moment, Mr. Cool arrived and his expression changed seeing that Wilson was in bad shape.
But before he could move, he sensed a familiar aura above.
"Bang!"
A Flaming first landed on the Beast's mouth forcing it to close.
Flames erupted like blazing fireworks and a painful screech resounded.
In front of the dumbfounded eyes of the people, the huge figure of the beast came crashing down towards the ground.
"Boom!"
People gulped as they looked at that shocking fist burning in flames while the person tood on a spear hovering above in the sky.
...
Max who was floating up in the sky using his telekinesis, shook his fist feeling the ache. The Beast's skull was really tough.
He had no choice but to come out like this. He was already up above when he saw the breath attack being aimed at Wilson.
The rules never said that a person wouldn't dir and neither did the Competition committee guarantee such a thing.
If it was somebody else attacking Wilson Max wouldn't have paid much attention, but this things was the strongest creature present in the whole trial.
If Wilson was struck by the breath attack, people wouldn't even find the ashes of his bones. Even Max didn't dare to claim of escaping unscathed from that breath attack. It would be a gamble of life if he had to take the attack head on.
After all, this was Beast...and that too at Mythic Tier. With a single swipe of it's claw, it was capable of killing early Master Tier Mages.
Not to mention, the poison of this Mythic Tier Beast was extremely dangerous even the antidotes may not be able to guarantee complete safety.
So, how could he dare to hold back and risk Wilson's life….
Now, he just hoped that things wouldn't get too chaotic because of this….

Will release on a minimum weekly schedule. -After a backlog of chapters, posting will slow, but in the interim you can expect a chapter a day up until roughly 25 chapters. -This story at times will potentially carry some heavy moments, but the tone is intended to be lighter overall. -There are invisible game-like elements in this story, but nothing so concrete as a dedicated gamelit novel. -I personally have some issues with anxiety, so I may or may not interact with the community a lot. I'll try if anyone has questions, but I can't guarantee that it'll be consistent. -MC is a non-human lead, and will never actually become human. Romance will potentially happen between side-characters, but not with the MC. -MC IS NOT THE ONLY VIEW POINT. I have to put that out there because people sometimes hate alternate PoV's in a story. None of them will be filler, and they'll be there only to give a little bit more nuance and meaning to the world that the MC has stepped in, or is about to be imminently important. I'll try to keep them down, but this also helps to prevent me from burning out getting trapped in one view. -Most of all, I hope that this story is enjoyable to you, and that you have a great time reading it! -Written by Michael Adams, Cowritten/Edited by Summer Kent
