The Ancient Genes Chapter 519

"Careful! A colony leader to the west is approaching with a group of Blood Eating Bats! Another small group is approaching from the east while a group of terrestrial beasts are approaching from the south east!" Beli shouted as she observed the situation from the lookout they had constructed.
"Got it!"
Lear stepped on the air and shot forward with his twin flexible blades in his hands as he went to intercept the Colony leader.
On the other side, Lisa climbed up on Twice and along with Eren, moved to intercept the smaller group while Mark and Zenith moved to intercept the ones approaching through the land.
"Kevin! Tilt the lights towards the West and support Lear! Irritated these pieces of sh*t as much as you can!" Axel commanded as he looked down on the entire situation while firing randomly at his convenience and shooting down targets.
He couldn't hide the grin on his face at all. The chaos was helping them farm for points. It really was the right decision to not hurry and leave.
…
"Wait! I am not done yet!" Aria screamed when she saw Max was about to leave as well.
She somehow managed to get on her feet and pointed her rapier at him. She didn't like being shown mercy like this when she was the first one to raise her weapon.
Max looked at her and smiled. Well, he had a few minutes left. He wouldn't mind testing out how much strength his clone possessed.
Max waved his hand and flames erupted but it was way weaker than his original one's.
Aria rushed towards him and crystals conjured around her as she thrusted her blade towards Max.
Max tilted his head and the blade grazed his cheeks drawing his blood out.
'I am way slower than I thought…' He muttered inwardly as his fist punched towards her abdomen.
Aria hastily moved her other arm and blocked Max's fist but it still caused a sharp pain to course through her hand.

But she gritted her teeth and suddenly let go of her rapier and grasped Max's punching hand and with a shout, the pointed crystals hovering around her directly went for Max's face.
"Drip!"
Thin water like blood dripped down Max's face. The crystals were really deadly but it had only managed to pierce a centimetre into Max's skin under the effect of his telekinesis which had managed to restrained them.
Aria looked at him in disbelief but no matter what she did, the crystals wouldn't budge at all.
"Aren't you being too careless?" Max asked her as she had yet to let go off his arm.
Before Aria could let go, Max raised her high in the air and slammed her down onto the ground.
"Bang!"
Aria's grip immediately loosened under the pain and she let go.
Max shook his head looking at her. He was weaker than her in terms of strength, but she still was losing.
"Your attacks were too simple. But I like your decisiveness…" Max praised her. But he was surprised when Aria suddenly rolled aside.
He knew something was wrong. His senses seemed to have weakened a lot and it was only now that he noticed that something was coming crashing down on him.
Max immediately tried to move but crystal pillars popped up around him sealing his escape route.
He immediately erupted with flames and abandoned all thoughts of escape as he had reached his time limit.
Max looked at the giant crystal sword falling on him and decided to use it as a tool to test his attack. Earlier he didn't use flames on her as he was afraid of creating the same situation as Wilson did with Mr. Cool.
But this wasn't a problem now...
"Bang!"
The flame pillar collided with the crystal sword and an explosion occurred.
"Boom!"
When the dust settled, Max was nowhere to be found and there were a few pieces of crystals lying around which weren't destroyed.

"Did I win? What's going on?" Aria was clearly confused.
She knew that Max wasn't so weak. But she was sure that Max hadn't escaped from the explosion.
….
Wilson was rushing ahead and soon the sneaky guys around the nest came into his view. They continued to shield themselves from the Blood Eating Bats while snooping around.
"Someone's here!!"
Wilson was easily spotted as the moment he entered as the Blood Eating Bats attacked him as well and the ruckus attracted the duo's attention.
"You stop him! I will plant the explosives!"
Wilson discharged electric currents sending the group of bats tumbling down to the ground. But before he could move, both of his sides were cut off. One by fire and the other by ice.
Wilson looked at the familiar guy who had appeared in front of him.
"We didn't get to fight last time….but we have the chance now…" Norek said, reminiscing about their time in Arcane.
"Are you sure you can stop me now?" Wilson asked as lightning crackled around him. They used to be on the same level. But he wasn't sure anymore. He hadn't heard anything about this guy.
"You will see soon enough…" Norek replied with calm.
He had been laying low because he didn't like the limelight. Even in Arcane, he was forced to flaunt off a bit as he had to establish fear and protect Lisa.
That was the job he was assigned to.
As for why?
He had no idea….but since he had a connection with Walkers, he was assigned to it.
But he really messed up when Lisa was kidnapped. But there wasn't anything he could do, as Master Tier Mages had appeared. In the end, he could only inform it back to the Capital as it would have been a foolish action to rush forward blindly….
And now that he has maintained a low-key after returning, people really seem to be looking down on him.
Wilson was preparing to act fast but when Norek exploded with his aura, his face turned serious.
It started to make sense, why in hell was Orca so strong…they really had averagely superior students.
"Whoosh!"
Wilson moved and immediately activated his true spell, summoning a lightning field and not holding back at all.
Norek immediately countered with ice as it was a good match for Wilson's lightning.
As the battle became intense, the two exchanged multiple blows but none managed to gain any advantage.
Wilson started to frown and he suddenly changed his fighting style realising that it wasn't going to work.
He completely ignored Norek's attack and thrusted his trident right into his chest.
Norek's eyes constricted when he saw Wilson ignore his attack like that. Even though Wilson had moved slightly slower than him, his trident had an advantage in length. Even if Norek managed to land a hit, he would be pierced through as well.
In the end, he cut off his attack and raised an ice shield. He somehow managed to block the attack the mid way, barely managing to block it.
The force behind the attack still sent Norek flying as he was able to perfectly block it.
Wilson immediately charged after him not planning to give him any time to recover but to his surprise, the other person rushed in to help Norek forcing Wilson back.
"It's done, let's get out of here…" the person said to Norek.
But Norek only looked at Wilson.
"You leave and detonate the place. Since he wants to play the hard way, I will have to accompany him…"
The guy looked at Norek in disbelief but Norek didn't even listen to him and began to walk towards Wilson.
In the end, the guy could only shake his head and leave.
Wilson didn't have a good expression on his face. This variable called Norek had really messed things up.

The term "time machine", coined by Wells, is now almost universally used to refer to such a vehicle. The Time Machine has been adapted into three feature films of the same name, as well as two television versions, and a large number of comic book adaptations. Book one now available on Kindle. The saying goes that when a man is born the Fates weave his destiny and swaddle him in it. Then one day the man dies, and the swaddle becomes a shroud. Heaven moves on. It is audacity to question the Fates. Olympus is Olympus. The land of men is the land of men. To transgress that, to cross the line of divinity and scale Olympus Mons? To defy the Fates and cast off their threads? That is hubris. It’s a mark that every philosopher bears plainly on their soul.
