The Ancient Genes Chapter 516

"Crackle!"
Lightning burst out from Wilson's body and rushed toward Aria and the two behind her.
Aria immediately slashed her rapier upwards and crystals emerged from the ground blocking the bolts of lightning.
"Bang!"
But, two seconds of shock was enough to shatter the crystal. After all, Aria was nowhere near Wilson's level.
As the crystal turned to dust, Aria raised her guard but Wilson was missing in front.
"Above!" One of the guys screamed and Aria immediately moved as thunder rained down on the spot she was standing leaving behind a charred crater.
As Aria retreated, the other two moved to attack.
Flames erupted on one while the other conjured wind blade.
"Losing sight of an opponent because of your own move is a foolish thing to do…" Wilson said with a mocking smile and didn't pay attention to the two and looked at Aria.
Aria's gritted her teeth after being mocked like that, but she could totally see Wilson's point here.
"This b*stard…" One of the guys cursed seeing that Wilson had totally ignored them.
But the moment he did, Wilson's figure flashed in front of him and a heavy slap landed on his face.
"Who the hell are you cursing at?" Wilson said as he grabbed his collar and slapped him again.
"Y-You!!" The guy clearly hadn't expected this. He tried to resist but he realised that the difference between their strength was too much to overcome.
The other guy appeared behind Wilson and shot out a wind blade.
Wilson pulled the guy in front of him by his collars and turned him towards the incoming blade.
"Aaahh!!!" A shriek escaped his mouth as his back turned bloody.
Aria took this chance to rush up to Wilson as he was busy dealing with her two teammates.

She held her rapier in a thrusting position and was ready to let out a devastating strike but who would have thought that Wilson would suddenly throw away the bloody guy at her.
Aria's flow immediately broke. She hurriedly tried to halt herself and turned the pointed blade away.
She was ready to catch the guy but suddenly Wilson shot out a trident made of lighting towards the guy.
Luckily, a white light enveloped him deflecting the trident and he was rescued before getting killed.
Now only two were left after that elimination.
"Let's kite him...fighting head-on is not a good idea…" Aria had just suggested her idea but Wilson had already moved with a flash towards the other guy.
Aria's face twitched and she immediately raised her sword and shot out a barrage of crystals towards Wilson.
Wilson waved his hand and shot out a jolt of lighting sending those crystals flying away.
Aria could only grind her teeth in frustration. He was too strong. She felt fa heaviness on her shoulder, maybe it was this difference in strength that she was not on their side….
Wilson caught the wind mage and soon lighting flash and the guy fell at his hands as well.
He then turned towards Aria who was glaring at him.
Wilson smiled at her as lightning crackled in his hand. He wasn't the one to show mercy.
Aria looked at him and readied herself. She wasn't going down without a fight.
"Are you the strongest in Arcane?" Aria suddenly asked out of nowhere, making Wilson pause.
She wanted to know who was strongest among them and how much difference was between them.
She really didn't want to remain a bystander knowing that there was much more than she knew. Lisa, Max, her brother (Mr.Cool) and her peers were all out there fighting. If something big was going around capable of affecting her life, then she wanted to be at the very forefront of it and not be a bystander and depend on others.

"No idea...I have never fought them seriously...." Wilson replied. "Besides, in my eyes, there is none stronger than me but only those I haven't surpassed yet."
There was definitely not another guy like him in the world.
Aria's face twitched, she had heard Lisa saying that this guy was arrogant but it still had surpassed her expectation.
Besides, she didn't think he was stronger than Max.
But there was one thing, which she seemed to have realised now. One didn't need to be special to be strong. She had a feeling that they were different somehow especially when she had entered the spirit world the feeling had gotten stronger.
But, now Wilson's words seemed to have made her realise something very simple. She didn't need to be special but have the grit to advance. A will to rise....
It was very true, even the Ancient Humans didn't start strong but from the very bottom and slowly climbed up the ladder. if they could do so, there was no reason why others couldn't.
Wilson was running out of time and didn't talk any longer. He had only wasted a few seconds of pointless banter since he was familiar with her. If it was someone else, they would have been down already.
Seeing that Wilson was coming at her, Aria's expression turned serious and she didn't hold back at all.
Crystals conjured in front of her and rained down on Wilson while crystal spikes emerged from beneath.
But Wilson was too fast and nothing could even graze his skin. Before she could react, he was already in front of her and the trident once again appeared in his hands.
Aria immediately thrusted her sword at the last moment and clashed with Wilson's trident.
The result was obvious. She was easily overpowered and sent flying away.
"Bang!"
Her body crashed into parked car shattering its glasses and bending its frame.
Blood trickled down her lips and as she still felt jolts of electricity every now and then. She was no match for him.
She had just reached Advance Tier and there was a huge gap between her and Wilson. It wasn't possible to leap it.
Wilson raised his hand and threw the trident at her preparing to send her packing.
Aria brought her rapier in front preparing to defend when the space in front of her twisted and the trident disappeared.
Wilson's face twitched and he immediately raised his hand to block his trident which had suddenly appeared above him.
"Bang!"
The trident exploded sending it out jokes of electric current. A second late and he would be the one being send out...
"Aren't you going a bit too far? She is my sister…"
Mr. Cool's voice sounded and his figure suddenly emerged in front of Aria.
"Should I have gone easy on her? But I really don't have time right now.." Wilson said, looking at him.
"Brother! It's my fight getaway…" Aria said as she tried to push him away.
"You sit there for a second…" Mr. Cool pushed her back to the ground as if she was a little girl.
He then looked at Wilson as the situation got tense.
"I don't like people glaring at me…" Wilson calmly said.
"Oh...I am actually used to it. You can't help it when you have a handsome face. But I guess you wouldn't understand it…" Mr. Cool replied with a laugh.
