The Ancient Genes Chapter 491

"Calm down….we will have a chance...it's not the right time yet…" Lear held Wilson's right hand while Mark grabbed the left one.
"It's just a penalty….beating that guy would make things easier for us…" Wilson said with a frown.
Lear and Mark exchanged glances.
Who would have thought that they would encounter a group from Orca on their way back?
Most of the guys from Orca almost exploded in anger after seeing Mark. But no one made a move under Nathan's stern gaze.
On the other hand, Wilson was ready to thrash Nathan according to their plan but was held back by Lear and Mark.
The hunt was supposed to commence from the fourth day….it was too early….
Now both sides were in a stalemate.
Nathan stood there with three students behind him. He was calmly looking at them while one of the students tried to provoke Wilson and others...
Lear felt that Wilson was right somewhere, he looked at Mark and slightly raised his head asking him what he thought?
«Mark: Don't….something feels off..»
Wilson looked at Mark and spoke, "What are you afraid of with me here?"
«Lear: Didn't you say the unknown penalty was ten thousand points? It would be worth it if we could avoid the disaster….»
Mark loosened his grip on Wilson's hand under Lear's persuasion and Wilson's gaze.
«Axel: What the hell are you guys going on about?»
Mark looked at Wilson who was slowly walking towards Nathan when Axel's message popped up.
He explained what was going on…
«Axel: Is that guy standing there for no reason?»
«Mark: Kind of...»
«Axel: No!! Stop him!! Don't let him make a move!!»
Axel seemed to have realised something but he was a second late.

"Bang!"
Wilson had already struck Nathan by this point.
Nathan crossed his arms and managed to block the attack. He then raised his head as a smile leaked out on his face.
At this moment, a voice rang out throughout the whole competition area.
[Arcane Academy has incurred the penalty by attacking Orca before the fourth day....]
[Any Academy can target Arcane Academy from now without incurring any penalty...]
Lear's eyes widened as he slowly turned his head to look at Mark.
Mark understood the look, it definitely meant, 'We f*cked up!'
«Axel: F*CK!!»
«Max: So, can anyone tell me why I am hearing this?»
«Lisa: What's going on?»
«Wilson: Isn't this good? We don't have to wait any longer? We can just beat them up….»
Lear and Mark glared at Wilson in front. This guy really was crazy….even if he knew about the penalty, he probably would have done the same…
"Surprised Mark?" Nathan suddenly asked with a smile as he looked at Mark.
Mark frowned when he heard that…
"Did you really think we would just let it go? We indeed had to sacrifice a bit but this is what you people get for trying to play with us…"
Lear's face turned dark as it slowly became clear to him.
The Unknown penalty was changed…
Was Lear too focused on the information provided by Mark?
'No!!'
Lear had already considered various scenarios where they might have to retreat but being made a punching bag for everyone was definitely not one of the scenarios….
Why?
Because it was the third day, there was no way that not a single student had broken this rule...there were a lot of grudges between different Academies and students after all.
But they hadn't heard any announcement meaning they were the first….it didn't seem possible...unless….

Lear suddenly looked at Nathan, ''You guys informed the rest of the Academies about the penalty, didn't you?"
Nathan looked at Lear in surprise, "You are smart….you people really did us a number with Mark and got to know about our strategy. So, you are the dangerous one….we obviously need to eliminate you guys first…."
Nathan knew about Max's strength. Mark and Erene were well known as well. There was then Wilson who had been causing chaos recently by beating people and then Lear who had shown his strength…not to mention the students from Orca who have transferred to Arcane recently….
Nathan knew that Arcane shouldn't be underestimated…..
Alan and Kain were both of the same opinion.
Orca knew that Nathan would be on Arcane's target list even if it meant incurring a penalty. After all, they were aware of their plan...
And hence they came up with this strategy to deal with Arcane...
"Well...you guys really thought it through…" Wilson smiled as he looked at Nathan.
"But have you thought about how to get out of here right now?" He further said as lightning began to crackle around him and a pressure of an Expert Tier spread around.
Nathan's face immediately turned serious. He hadn't expected it.
He looked at the guy behind him and the guy immediately launched a signal flare.
Lear and Mark immediately moved towards the three guys behind Nathan.
Those three were all Advance Tier Mages. Orca was really a level above the rest in terms of quality.
"You two stop that guy….don't face him head on…" One of the guys with a long face and thin body frame commanded the other two, directing them towards Lear while he stood in front of Mark.
Mark looked at him feeling that the guy seemed a bit familiar. He seemed to have felt that disdain in his eyes somewhere before….
"I remember now….you are one of the masked men targeting the commoner students…" Mark said with anger in his voice.
"Now, what might you be talking about?" The guy shrugged innocently.
"Don't lie, I have see-"
Before Mark could even speak, the guy had attacked, forcing Mark to defend.
…
Nathan turned his head away from his teammates to look at Wilson.
"Well, it will be a great opportunity for me to test myself as well…"
With that his aura surged out and surprisingly, it belonged to that of an Expert Tier…..
When Nathan fought Max and got the sh*t beaten out of him, he actually gained a lot..
He realised a few things and his arrogance no longer remained when he thought about Max who had risen to his position without the family's resources….
This had led to a slow change in his mental state and made him even more hardworking. This brought an earlier breakthrough than expected to Nathan.
Wilson was surprised for a second but then his smile grew larger. He seemed excited now...
With a strong burst, Wilson's aura exploded. Nathan's brows creases and he pushed out his strength to his limit as well.
But it was quite clear that Nathan's aura was losing to Wilson who had advanced to Expert Tier earlier than him….
Yet, it wasn't a gap which couldn't be overcome….

Larry Foulery's monotonous, directionless life changed drastically, when he got shot in the face.
