The Ancient Genes Chapter 485

"Impossible!!"
Bayu's eyes flashed with a fierce light as he looked at the figure with killing intent in his eyes. Every person had their bottom line….and his was being touched.
"Calm down, Heavenly Commander or should I say General?" The figure asked with a provocative tone.
Bayu ignored the question and spoke, "The Royal Blood of Leyak was wiped out with the death of My Lord in the hands of Arkansas…..even the whole Royal Family was killed….I have searched for his descendants for hundreds of years but didn't find anyone…"
There was hatred in his voice. This wasn't his first possession. He had died early in the war and when he came back...demons were almost annihilated. If not for Vaccaria, everything would have been gone…
Even though he didn't like him particularly, his strength was what had kept demons alive...and he respected him for that.
Bayu suddenly shifted his eyes towards the figure, "If you are lying, then don't think you can leave this place alive…"
"Whether you can kill me or not depends on your ability?" The figure snorted.
The figure then further spoke, "Now whether I will kill you or not depends upon your next answer, so choose wisely…"
"Do you still recognise Leyak as your Lord or have you succumbed to Vaccaria?"
Bayu's eyes flickered with a cold light. He wasn't sure whether it was a test from the Heavenly Demon. If he chose wrongly then it might lead to trouble.
But was he afraid of death? No, he was only afraid of not being able to kill sufficient Humans..
"As long as Leyak's Royal Blood is alive, I am still the General Guardian of Leyak Clan…"
The figure in front looked at Bayu before a red colored aura began to leak out of the person's body and slowly conjured a shape in mid air to form a strange beast like figure.
Bayu's eyes widened, he recognised it.

"Draconic Fly…"
It was one of the Royal Bloodline abilities of Leyak Clan. There was no way that it could be replicated or stolen. Because it needed the power of Leyak's royal blood...
….
On the other side, Max had already ended the Human Faced Spider. It shouldn't be this easy, but with Bayu beside it ended up without any serious injuries.
A minute later, Max arrived at the place where Lear and Mark had taken the remaining dummies.
Max transferred them in his spirit world as well and finally a good day was coming to an end.
"Combining the points from rescued dummies and the Peak Savage beast, I think we have won already…" Lear couldn't help but grin like an idiot.
"Don't get too cocky...you never know the result until the end.." Max shook his head.
"Let's stay around here for the night. The Human Faced Spider is gone too….it should be safe around here…" Mark suggested.
The group looked around and finally found a place to stay for the night.
"Lisa, Eren, Valko and Beli are still missing…" Mark suddenly said.
"Lisa should be here soon. We need to worry about others. We can't contact them like we do with each other…." Max said as he looked at them.
"We will search for them tomorrow before meeting with Ocien to clear the securing area mission…" He further added.
Time passed and it soon became dark. At this moment, a group arrived.
Max turned his head to look at Lisa who was leading Aria along with Twice and Venice behind who was still unconscious.
Aria looked at Max and others in surprise. Lisa's hunch was spot on or so she would like to say. But even she wasn't a fool to believe it…
It might be a coincidence if they met one or two people but all the four students here were her teammates and they didn't seem surprise as if they knew they were coming.

They must have some way to track each other.
"How was it?" Max asked as he looked at her. Since, Twice was out...it must meant she was close to forfeiting
"It was tiring and why didn't you tell me about Twice earlier…" Lisa said as she pinched his side.
"Didn't you want someone to accompany you so that you can relieve yourself? I only did it for your sake….I thought you would be embarrassed if you knew someone was keeping an eye on you." Max replied with a smile.
"Y-You!!" Lisa's face turned red. She wanted to bite him but ultimately held back seeing that there were others looking at the two whispering.
Aria was specially eyeing them. She felt that the two didn't seem just friends at times. She sometimes wanted to ask Lisa about it, but thinking that there were things that she didn't have the qualification to know about yet held her back.
She felt that assuming things without knowing about their connection was a bad idea.
"Hmph! I will deal with you later…" Lisa glared at Max before leaving to help Aria who had taken Venice down from Twice.
"Isn't this the girl from Ethera?" Mark asked as he looked at Venice.
"Yeah…" Aria nodded and explained how Venice had helped them.
She had heard about Mark backstabbing them. But looking at him, she didn't feel that he would do something like that.
Mark had gotten help from Mr. Cool who was from Ethera and hence he was more than happy to help Venice in return who seemed to be Mr. Cool's girlfriend from what he heard from Max and Lear.
…
Time passed and it was late at night...
"Aren't you guys a bit too lively?'' Aria sat beside Max looking at the food.
She couldn't believe that these people were using their limited carrying capacity to bring so much food and even seasonings. They weren't on a picnic, were they?
Max smiled but didn't reply. He had a lot of space in his spirit world to carry things.
"I am not disturbing by staying here..right?" Aria suddenly asked, she was technically on the other side in the competition.
Max looked at her and he could feel that she was expecting a positive reply.
"Yeah, no one minds you unless you raise your sword on us…" Max replied.
Aria was happy but felt that the last part was not needed.
"Hmmn?" Max suddenly looked at her with an intense gaze.
"What?" Aria asked in confusion.
Suddenly Max closed in and Aria was taken back as a faint blush appeared on her face. Her eyes darted away, she couldn't look him in the eye for some reason.
"W-What a-are you doing?" Aria stuttered nervously.
"You are close to a breakthrough…"
Those words poured down a bucket of cold water on her head and her heated-up face began to cool down.
"Yeah…" Aria replied in a dull voice as if she wasn't happy about it.
"Want me to help? If you can go all out in one more fight then you will surely break through…" Max suggested. He knew the difficulty of the competition and things didn't seem simple like it did on the surface.
He would feel relieved if she had greater strength. Obviously, he was being considerate as a friend and also to the fact that she was Mr. Cool's sister….He didn't have any other thoughts. He wouldn't even dare to add another one to his messed up life.
"But…" Aria had her hesitation and Max understood it as well.
"Don't worry, come with me. Even if you are exhausted. I will safely bring you back. You can spend the night here and recover. With so many of us, you shouldn't be worried about danger…" Max said as he got up.
