The Ancient Genes Chapter 484

"Finally, we made it out…" one of the students said and fell on the ground totally exhausted.
These people were the ones trapped in the sewer for two days.
"How is she?" Arthur asked as he looked at Aria and Lisa.
"She is still unconscious…" Aria replied as she looked at Venice who was being carried on Twice's back.
They would really be done if not for Venice's last attack which sealed the entire Sewer in ice.
The Swamp Lord even though frozen was not dead. But no one knew how long it would take for the beast to break the ice.
"It's going to get dark soon...don't stop. Find some place to stay the night or go in search of your teammates…." Arthur said as he looked at everyone.
Now that they were pit of the sewers, the alliance was over and they were on their own.
One by one, the students started to disperse with plans in their mind.
"It will be better if you look after her…." Arthur said as he looked at Lisa. He planned to move as well. It might not be appropriate for him to carry an unconscious girl.
Not to mention, he was injured as well and didn't have the liberty to look after someone else.
After Arthur left, Lisa looked at Aria, ''You are coming with me, right?"
"Well, we can help each other until we find our teammates…" Aria nodded. There was Venice as well. She didn't want to leave her entirely to Lisa and burden her.
Originally, Aria had a teammate but the guy wasn't lucky enough to make it out of the sewers.
As they began to move, Aria couldn't help but look at Lisa in confusion, "Do you have a destination in mind?"
"Umn…" Lisa looked at her unsure how to respond. She couldn't possibly say that they were cheating and she had a full grasp on most of her teammate's positions.
"It's better than staying at one place….I have a hunch we will find someone in this direction.." Lisa made up lies to cover her actions.

On the other side….
The dome was in ruins. The flames had spread and tit was utter chaos.
Max had few scratches on him and was bleeding at few places but nothing was serious.
Even these few injuries were the result of Bayu's trick when Max was facing the Human Faced Spider.
Bayu was even worse than Max. Even though his injuries weren't serious it wasn't superficial either.
Lear had already arrived and had snuck inside to help Mark carry the dummies while Max kept Bayu and the Human Faced Spider busy.
"Scree!!!!"
Flames rose from Max's body and formed the shape of a Phoenix.
Max didn't keep the Phoenix in front but let it fly high in the sky. He was planning to use it to sneak on both the beast and Bayu from the sky.
Bayu's eyes flashed with a vigilant look. He had already suffered a bit at the human's hand. He didn't dare to let his guard down.
The Human Faced Spider suddenly charged towards Max. It had taken a beating as well and most of it came from Max not to mention Max had burned down his best. It hated Max more than Bayu in the current moment.
Max was ready, he swung his spear and held down the beast for a moment. The next moment, a tornado engulfed the place and razor sharp winds began to leave deep gashes on the surface or stadium.
Max ignored the cuts on his body and suddenly and with a strong step, pushed aside two sharp legs which were cleaving down on him.
As the beast took a step back after being overpowered, Max immediately pushed his spear into its tough hide making the beast release a miserable cry.
Bayu took the opportunity and immediately released his strongest spell. Even without releasing his demonic power, his aura climbed to the mid stage of Expert Tier a bit away from the late stage.
"Wind Requiem!"
Dark winds rose all round and formed a gigantic hurricane. It rose into the air like a dragon and came crashing down on Max and the Human Faced Spider.

"Boom!"
With a thunderous explosion, the area was wiped clean. It was flattened under the impact of the attack.
When things settled, the Human Faced Spider was down on its feet. A bloody hole had been dug out on it's back. The beast glared at Bayu with hatred filled eyes. It really wanted to tear Bayu apart.
Bayu frowned. Even he wasn't a fool to believe that his attack was capable of doing so much damage to this creature when he hadn't activated his demonic powers.
Suddenly, a figure appeared from the shadow of the Human Faced Spider. Bayu's eyes turned grim as he looked at the sneer of the guy's face.
Max had hidden underneath the beast and let it take all the attack on his behalf. At the same time, he even activated his domain to seal the beast's mana and weakened its defenses leading to a severe injury.
Max suddenly put his hands above and lifted the towering creature before throwing it towards Bayu.
The Human Faced Spider had no idea that someone had taken it's blind spot. Before it could do anything, it was already flying towards Bayu.
It immediately swung its sharp legs. Bayu was on it's must kill list now. It didn't care about the person who threw it and bared its fangs towards the human in front.
Bayu immediately defended and entered a stalemate with the injured beast.
Max smiled when his conditions were finally met and the Phoenix which seemed to have disappeared in the air suddenly emerged from the cloud and struck the two like a lightning strike.
"Bang!"
The power was even greater than the impact from Bayu's Wind Requiem.
When the smoke disappeared, Max saw the Human Face Spider was scorched and seemed to be approaching it's limit. The wounds on its body had aggravated and it didn't seem to have much life left in it.
On the other side, Bayu's left hand was charred but he managed to protect himself somehow.
He glared at Max with deep hatred before running away. The Human Faced Spider wasn't in a condition to give it a chase and Max knew that he couldn't kill the guy without revealing his cards and even if he could kill him, the strange formations below might not let it happen.
…
Bayu cursed as he flew away from the battlefield. He was already planning on his revenge when suddenly a dangerous feeling crept up his heart.
He immediately stopped and looked at the figure standing in front. The person was covered from head to toe obviously to hide his identity.
"Hmmn?" Bayu frowned when he felt a strange feeling rising in his heart. The next instant, his eyes widened.
"Royal Blood!!"
"Who are you?!! Vaccaria didn't have any descendants…the war left the royal line extinct…." Bayu didn't know what was going on.
Just like the Primal Humans disappeared, the Royal Blood of Demons which could fight with the Primal Humans had gone extinct as well.
"I don't know what's going on….but it doesn't seem like it's a coincidence that we met…" Bayu said as he looked at the person with vigilance in his eyes.
The person shook his head and a feminine voice came out, "You might not believe it. But it's truly a coincidence. I was just keeping an eye on a certain person from a distance and happened to find you. It looks like he really is my lucky star…"
"Don't beat around the bush lady. I might not be much familiar with the current era. But I know that Vaccaria would never allow a royal blood to live. Whose descendant are you?" Bayu asked with a snort. He didn't know what this person was plotting but he wasn't afraid. Instead, it should be this person who had messed up by revealing the Royal bloodline in her.
"I am Leyak's Descendant…."
When Bayu heard it, his eyes stretched out to its extreme. He felt as if he had been struck by lightning.
"Impossible!!!"

Keys of the Endpoint is an illustrated web serial about the re-birth of civilization in a fantastical world suffering from a recent apocalyptic event. Every day, people appear from the storms that ravage the Endpoint. Whisked away from their own time and place by storms in their homelands, these newcomers find themselves in a hostile place made up of ruins and people from every timeline imaginable. Stranger still, they all soon discover they're carrying silver keys that grant each holder incredible powers. On Earth, most people have mundane excuses for the disappearances, but not Isaac. Having lost his brother Finn to one of these storms, Isaac becomes obsessed with finding a pattern. Not to prevent more people disappearing, but rather to get taken by the storms himself in order to find his brother. While chasing Finn’s faint trail, Isaac soon discovers how little he really knew about himself, his brother and how much loss one person can take. In Keys of the Endpoint there's portal fantasy, personal drama, magic (useable by everyone), plenty of combat, power progression, mysteries, factions, feuds and eventually war (in that order). The magic system is well defined and modular with nigh infinite combinations. The story starts out with one of the two main characters looking for his lost brother but quickly expands in scope from that point on. He murmured, his lips only inches from my own.I blinked, my lips parting, as his heady scent encircled me. He licked his lower lip, running his teeth over it as his electric blue eyes burned into mine. The heat of his bare chest seeped through my thin cotton shirt, thawing my icy irritation."Even when you're being cross." He added in a low voice. He leaned closer, before I could respond, and ran his teeth along my jaw.I suppressed a moan. "I wouldn't be cross if you weren't so keen on irritating me." I said, unable to hide the smile in my voice.I felt his answering smile against my neck. "How can I make it up to you?" He whispered, planting gentle kisses up and down the column of my throat.
