The Ancient Genes Chapter 478

"Scree!!!"
The White Skin Ape screeched as it pounded the ground annoyed by the bullets raining down on it.
It tried to catch the human which was slaughtering its pack but the guy was too quick.
The two people hunting this group of White Skin Ape were Max and Axel.
This was apparently the shortest route toward Lear and others. Besides, it was another good source of points.
The leader of the pack was a mid grade Savage beast and packed a lot of point.
"Do you think we will be the one leading the points tally?'' Axel suddenly asked Max who landed beside him.
Only the leader of the pack was left standing at this point and the rest were all slaughtered by their joint efforts.
"It's hard to say...besides, the real game changers will be the peak grade Savage Beasts and area securing missions…." Max replied.
"Every point matters….what if we lose by a single point? It's better to get every single point we could get…" Axel said with a smile.
"Why don't you bring out your precious bullets then...did you think I didn't notice that you were using the normal series…" Max asked as he looked at him.
"Don't be like that….by the way that thing is running towards us…" Axel pointed at the White Skin Ape.
Max sighed and flames rose from his body into the air and crashed onto the beast incinerating it to ashes.
"Aren't you going to scare people outside if you fight like this?" Axel asked as he looked at the ashes which were all left of the terrifying beast.
"Don't worry, we are not being shown outside…" Max calmly replied. He had asked Namen to keep a check on it.
It seemed that since they were mostly moving under the invisible cloak, the organisers were forced to ignore them.

….
"Is it really true?" Mark asked as he looked at Lear.
"Yeah, I am 100 percent sure. I saw the dummies but there were too many beasts for me to rescue them…. Not to mention it's a dome...acting alone can get me trapped." Lear said with a sigh.
"Anyway, anything on your side…" Lear asked.
"No..I just killed a few ferocious beasts and avoided the higher-level ones…" Mark shook his head.
Suddenly, Lear stood up and his sword appeared in his hand, "Enemies meet each other no matter what…"
Laughter sounded out when Lear said those words and the next instant, a figure appeared in front of them.
"You think you are qualified to be my enemy…" the guy mocked Lear.
It was Bayu….
Talk about bad luck.
He wasn't alone though. There were five people beside him.
Lear frowned.
Even with the system's help they hadn't gotten together. How in hell did these people from West Wind Academy were able to come together so fast?
'Anyway, he shouldn't be able to attack considering it's still the second day…' Lear thought inwardly but still kept his guard up.
"Why are you participating in the competition? Shouldn't you be returning to your place?" Lear asked as he looked at him.
"You want information, kid? You have to do way better than that…." Bayu shook his head. "I still haven't forgotten the last time…"
A pressure suddenly gushed out of his body and both Axel and Mark felt a heaviness on their soldier.
"If you want to expose yourself then go ahead…." Lear didn't back down.
"Hahaha….you think the ant observing us can see through my disguise.." Bayu laughed it out.
Lear was surprised. He looked at the guys behind Bayu and they didn't seem to have much reaction to his words.

"I will find you two days later. Forfeit before it's too late. I will still kill you outside though…" Bayu said as he walked right past them and even picked up the food that they were about to eat.
Mark frowned but Lear who knew very well about him shook his head asking him to not take any action.
'Why did he have to be here?' Lear had a bad feeling about this guy.
…
A few hours earlier…
"Where is this place?" Lisa muttered as she grasped her nose. The stench was killing her.
She looked around and it was pitch black. But for her who possessed darkness as one of the elements, it was clear as day.
Sewers!!
Lisa didn't have a good experience with this. It reminded of her the time in Arcane when she was kidnapped. Max had almost left her to die back then…
'He really was a jerk back then….' Lisa muttered with a smile not realising how she herself was…
"Who's there?!''
A flash light was suddenly pointed at Lisa. It seemed that there were some people here.
Lisa looked at the person and it turned out to be Lear's brother, Arthur.
"Lisa!!"
A familiar voice came from Arthur's behind and a figure rushed towards her.
It was Aria.
Lisa was really surprised to find her here.
"Let's not linger around...we don't know when the Swamp Crocs will show up...let's get going.." Arthur said to Aria and she nodded.
Lisa didn't know what was going around but as Aria pulled her along, she didn't resist.
Along the way, she got to know the situation.
There were 7 other people in the sewers beside her. They had appeared here on the first day and none of them could find the way out and instead were attacked by the group of Swamp Crocs. Two people were forced to forfeit and this also forced the remaining people to put aside their differences and cooperate.
After walking for a few minutes, they reached the base. It was higher elevation and was completely dry without a drop of the sewage water.
There were already two people there. A girl and a guy. The guy was from Trinity and the girl was from Ethera. Lisa has seen her, she was the one who had replaced Mr. Cool as the representative, Venice Brown.
"Another person?" Venice looked at Lisa and then nodded.
The guy from Trinity didn't have a good look on his face because of her being from Arcane. But he didn't have the guts to even mock her.
After all, she was Lisa Walker.
"Did you guys find anything?" Arthur asked as he looked at them.
"Yeah...we found the exit…" Venice nodded.
Aria's eyes lit up and even Arthur seemed to breathe in relief.
"But it's in the nest of the Swamp Crocs…" Venice further added and dumped a bucket of cold water on their heads.
"Just what were you guys thinking... coming up with such strange rules and place…" the guy from Trinity gave Aria an annoyed look. It was after all Orca's event.

The cultivation (and alchemical) tiers are not at all necessary to understand the book, but exist because in the context of the book it would be important.
